"Fiance?" Junior asked. He was really perplexed.

"How can someone as nice as you be engaged to a man like that?" Junior asked Elise.

Elise was about answering when a voice from behind stopped her.

"Well, well, look who we have here. Elise and the good for nothing son-in-law of the Banks family or should I say former son-in-law?" Xavier Harkins asked with a smirk on his face.

Junior and Elise turned to look at him, he was standing alone.

"Hi Xavier. Junior and I bumped Into each other and we decided to hang out for a bit, we were just about to leave," Elise explained.

"For starters, I wasn't even aware that you, my fiance, are friends with this man. Secondly, this is a really expensive restaurant, the likes of Junior can never afford to dine here, which means you're the one paying for everything," Xavier said.

"You're wrong, Junior paid for everything and yes, we're friends, that's all. And what about the lady you walked in with? I don't see her" Elise said.

"Junior paid for what? Very funny, I'll ignore that. So, you saw me walk in here and you chose not to say hello to me, Elise, you seem to have forgotten the nature of our relationship" Xavier said.

"I haven't forgotten anything, Xav, the last time we were in a situation similar to this, I remember you telling me you didn't appreciate me talking to you in public when you have company, I didn't want to make the same mistake again," Elise said.

"Whatever. My family and I have tried to upgrade your status, but just like a pig, you enjoy rolling in the mud. Do whatever you like, but make sure it doesn't stain my family name in any way. If you'll excuse me, my date is waiting for me" Xavier said and walked away.

All the while, Junior stood there, too surprised to say a word. He and Elise hurried to the car and Junior asked Donald to drive them home.

Soon after, Elise started explaining,"When I was in high school, my family was struggling financially. My dad and mum used to work for the Harkins family. We were going through a tough time, we were desperate and overwhelmed by the situation, so my dad decided to beg Mr Joe Harkins, Xavier's dad, for a loan. The loan was given but my family couldn't pay back. In exchange, my dad has been at the beck and call of the Harkins family ever since. And it's not just him, I've been included in the whole thing. I'm getting married to Xavier, not because I want to, but to help my family."

"But Xavier's family are financially okay, why didn't they just forget about the loan?" Junior asked.

"Why do you think so? They're just like their son, they enjoy having control over those they view as inferior," Elise answered.

"But why did Xavier not just marry someone of the same social status? Why did he pick you?" Junior inquired further.

"In his words, I'm beautiful and smart, also, due to my family's relationship with him, he'll always be in control over my life and that's what he wants" Elise replied.

"What about the lady he walked in there with? They seem closer than just friends or business associates. Aren't you going to say anything about that?" Junior asked.

"I know he sees other women, and honestly, I do not mind. All I have to do is show up to important events with him, look and act the part of a sweet, loving fiancee, in exchange, my dad stays out of jail. Also, Xavier got me my job at MacMatthew corporation, even though he did it so he could keep an eye on me, it has really helped" Elise said.

"After marrying him, what next? The Harkins are just going to keep demanding more and more things from you and your family. It's important to prioritize your safety, well-being and happiness. You and your family need to fight back," Junior said.

"How? We don't have the resources to" Elise said.

"You've been more than a friend to me these past few weeks. Let me help you. I can talk to my parents for you" Junior said.

"Oh no, I don't want to impose on anyone," Elise responded.

"You are not imposing on anybody, I'm volunteering to help. You and your family deserve to be treated with respect and dignity…

He was about to continue talking when Donald announced they'd arrived at the Miller mansion.

After they got in, Junior and Elise sat down with his parents to discuss. Junior told them how Elise had helped him and explained her family's situation to them, they listened sympathetically, after Junior was done, Mansion Miller stood up to speak.

"I've heard all what you and my son have said and I'd like to help you. Honestly, I think you can be of help to us as well" Mansion said.

"Me? How?" Elise asked.

"My parents and I have decided to keep my identity a secret from the business world. Apart from our staff and directors of the company, no one else will know who I really am, I'll need a representative and that's where you'll come in," Junior said.

"What exactly is my job as your representative?" Elise asked.

"My parents will be retiring soon, I'll be the one to take over. Your job will be to make appearances and speak on my behalf" Junior explained.

"So, what's in it for me?" Elise asked.

"You and your family will be free from the Harkins family, we'll make sure of that and that's not all, for the way they've treated you, you'll make them pay," Junior said.

"My son is eventually going to reveal his identity. But first, let's deal with the Harkins. Since your father still has access to their house, he'll be able to find dirt about them, and you don't have to be worried about his safety, families like that, they've already concluded that family like yours can never hurt them or try to fight back, so they won't suspect a thing," Mansion said.

"So, if I'm following correctly, you want to help my family be free from Xavier's family, then I'll start working for the D'Miller brand. Afterwards, the Harkins will be made to pay for all the wrong they've done. What about Micah MacMatthew and your ex wife, aren't you going to deal with them?" Elise asked.

"They'll pay as well. The Harkins are one of the closest families to the MacMatthew's. They have several joint ventures, if anything happens to the Harkins, the MacMatthew's will be shaken a bit, they'll get confused and that's when we'll strike.

And as for the Banks family, their time is coming, for now, they're living in what I'll liken to a fool's paradise, let them enjoy it, we'll take everything they have, they'll feel what I was made to feel all the while I stayed with them, I promised to have retribution and I will. I'll keep them in suspense, when it's time, I'll reveal myself. For now, you'll be the face of vengeance," Junior said.
