After He Qin brought the little leopard back, he said he’d only keep it for two days, but in reality, it stayed for over a month, and no one came to reclaim it.
Every staff member of the Earth Diplomatic Department could see how much the cold-faced female Zerg Major General adored the little creature. Sometimes, he would even hold it in his arms during meetings.
The male Zerg lay on the bedside, several soft pillows under him, holding his new black mobile phone.
“Up, get up quickly.”
“Change the gun, aim at him!”
“There’s someone behind the tree, be careful.”
Rhys tidied up the ‘battlefield’ from last night on the side, listening to the male Zerg occasionally shouting out some terms he couldn’t understand.
The well-fed leopard lifted its head from its food bowl, elegantly moving towards the bedside with the graceful steps unique to feline animals. It judged the distance and direction, slightly using its hind legs, then softly landing on the bed.
Under Rhys’s care, the little leopard has grown to the size of a full-grown house cat. It eagerly eyed a certain yellow duck plush pillow that the Major General always holds.
That yellow duck pillow was given to the little leopard on its first night here. The Major General was afraid it wouldn’t settle, so he tucked it into its nest and comforted it. Since that night, the yellow pillow has become the little leopard’s exclusive possession.
He Qin was entirely focused on his team shooting game and didn’t notice he was pressing down on the little leopard’s favorite pillow.
The young leopard cub disliked the male Zerg who usually rubs its head and competes for the Major General’s embrace, but no matter how it resists, the strong male Zerg effortlessly subdues it.
It feels both hatred and fear towards He Qin.
“Hah…” The little leopard roared at the ‘villain’ who had taken away two of its beloved possessions.
It considered itself a majestic wild beast with its roaring, but He Qin dismissed it as noise disturbing his game. “Stop yelling, or you won’t get dinner tonight.”
“Hey, is that the leopard cub you brought back?” He Qin’s brothers from the gaming team asked curiously upon hearing the little leopard’s cries.
“Yeah, that little guy. Bro, I shouldn’t have brought it back.”
In Rhys’s eyes, this fluffy mischievous little leopard could do no wrong. The man’s question finally gave He Qin a chance to vent.
“Bro, Rhys really likes it. Those days we brought it back, he wanted to sleep with it every night. Also, whenever we’re ‘doing things’, it rushes to the bed and roars at me like I’m a big villain bullying Rhys.”
“And now, for several days, it’s been banging on the door and disturbing us at the best times.” He Qin pushed the little leopard’s head away disdainfully and intentionally pressed the pillow down underneath.
“Anyway, we will going back to the Zerg sooner or later. I’ll throw it on Earth and see if it’s still smug then.”
He Qin was just letting off steam. If he really abandoned this creature, Rhys would be upset for quite some time.
The little leopard only understood the threatening tone of the male Zerg. “Hiss, hah…” It increased its roar, extending its front paws to forcefully pat the male Zerg’s back.
He Qin is used to sleeping naked, only wearing shorts in the morning. Fortunately, the young leopard cub knew its limits and didn’t extend its sharp claws; otherwise, the smooth skin on the male Zerg’s exposed back would have more than a few scratches from Rhys’s nails.
“Xiao Qin?”
“Yeah, bro, what is it?”
“Are you sure you weren’t just showing affection earlier?” The voice of the man opposite came through the screen again.
Before He Qin could think of a response, a head appeared from a small house on the screen, and bullets hit the trajectory controlled by He Qin’s character’s head.
“Ah, I’m dead, it’s all your fault.” Watching the small person on the screen get a headshot, He Qin shouted in anger and threw his phone on the bed.
The little leopard was happily playing on He Qin’s back, bouncing around on all fours, when suddenly the male Zerg stood up, causing it to slide onto the bed upside down.
“Yeah, it’s you. Forget about dinner tonight.” He Qin grabbed the back of the little leopard’s neck with an ‘evil face’.
After all, the little leopard had grown up in the wild, and its wild instincts could not be eradicated from its blood. It extended its claws, wanting to scratch the big bad guy who bullied it with a grand face, but the male Zerg’s arms were much longer than its own, and its claws were far from reaching the target.
It tried several times but couldn’t touch the male Zerg. “Ah-woo, ah-woo.” Seeing Rhys’s figure, the little leopard immediately retracted its claws and whimpered pitifully.
“Male Lord, please put little obidient down quickly; it will hurt.” Rhys rescued the little leopard from the Zerg’s hands.
He had thought for a long time: why was the male Zerg, who was usually gentle and polite in his dealings with others, so hostile towards the little leopard?
They were like enemies from a past life, fighting whenever Rhys wasn’t looking. Fortunately, the leopard cub was still young and couldn’t harm the Zerg, who had rich combat skills.
“It’s because it saw you that it retracted its claws. It almost scratched my eyeball just now.”
Just pretending to be weak? He Qin could also!
He Qin pointed at his corner of the eye, exaggerating the matter as much as possible. Huh, the little creature didn’t speak human language, and it still dared to play tricks on him?
“Little one, didn’t we say? You must never extend your claws towards the Male Lord.” Rhys ensured that the male Zerg’s eyes were not injured and then sternly lectured the little leopard lying on the bed.
Since Rhys discovered that the male Zerg and the little leopard could not coexist peacefully, he began training the little leopard not to extend its claws towards the Zerg and not to harm the Zerg.
Although most of the time it was the male Zerg who provoked the little leopard, it was somewhat unfair to the little leopard, but Rhys believed that the male Zerg’s safety came first.
“As punishment, you’ll have synthetic food today.” As for how to train it, of course, it was to use the food that the leopard cub needed most as a punishment and reward mechanism.
The little leopard liked the feeling of tearing fresh meat with its sharp teeth. It disliked the synthetic pellets provided by humans, knowing well that synthetic food was its punishment for doing wrong.
“Ah-woo, woo.” The little leopard snuggled under Rhys’s palm, pretending to be well-behaved and seeking affection.
He Qin crossed his arms, disdainfully mocking the spineless little leopard. “I really don’t understand why you call it ‘little Guai (obedient)’. Clearly, it’s not obedient at all.”
“Male Lord.”
Facing this little leopard, the Male zerg was like having his warrior spirit ignited, verbally and physically provoking back and forth.
“Alright, alright, I won’t say anymore.” He Qin raised both hands in surrender.
As usual, before meals, He Qin would communicate with and play with the child using his mental power.
The Zerg egg that had been growing for three months had formed a hard shell, and its size had increased significantly. Rhys’s beautiful abdominal lines were starting to disappear.
“Bzzz” Rhys’s wrist communicator kept vibrating.
“Good morning, Major General.” Calculating the time difference between the central galaxy and Earth’s sun, Jack was contacting without disturbing the Major General and the little egg’s sleep in the morning.
The fox-eyed pirate was escorted back to the Zerg homeworld by several Zerg soldiers recently and handed over to more specialized interrogators.
“How’s the investigation going?”
“This assassination attempt on the male Zerg on Earth has had a severe impact. His Excellency the Prime Minister has ordered that the General must uncover the mastermind behind it.” Attempting to assassinate a Zerg, with the intention of disrupting the alliance with Earth, had greatly angered His Excellency.
The Legion General and various government departments broke down their barriers and cooperated. After a month, they were finally making some progress.
“And the result is…” Jack looked troubled, hesitating and repeating a few phrases.
It seemed that the results they had uncovered were not favorable.
“Go on,” He Qin reassuredly held the Zerg’s hand.
“It’s true that the temporary account was opened in the name of male Zerg Qi Lun. The General also found that the location where this account appeared was linked to the Qi family. Qi Lun has done such an outrageous thing, which angered His Excellency greatly. However, dealing with Qi Lun’s male Zerg identity is tricky, so for now, he has only been placed under house arrest at the Qi residence.”
“Are there any other dissenting issues?”
Rhys knew that even if it was a male Zerg, being accused of such a major crime would result in the “confiscation of existing assets.” Qi Lun was only under house arrest, indicating that the evidence was not yet conclusive.
“Qi Lun insists he didn’t do it. His Excellency has ordered the General to continue investigating and has stationed guards at the Qi residence to prevent Qi Lun from escaping.”
It couldn’t be helped; this was how the Zerg treated their own kind. Qi Lun claimed innocence, and without solid evidence, they couldn’t convict him or treat him like a criminal.
“Major General, don’t worry. At least, the General is doing his best to find out the truth.” Jack’s tone grew increasingly uneasy.
Such temporary accounts could only reveal location information. How difficult it was to find conclusive evidence was understood by both sides of the Zerg.
It could be said that luck played a role. If luck wasn’t on their side and they couldn’t find similar magnetic fields, Qi Lun might be fined a small amount on the pretext of not ensuring information, and the matter would be swept under the rug.
“Yeah, I know. Please tell the General that I appreciate his efforts.”
As they discussed this topic, the atmosphere on both sides became somewhat tense.
“Oh, Major General, is this an orc cub?” Jack exclaimed as a stealthy leopard cub suddenly appeared on the cloud projection.
He had accompanied the Major General to the orc planet many times and had seen the chief of the leopard tribe’s young son, who looked just like the little creature on the opposite side of the cloud, with yellow fur covered in spots.
“How can there be an orc cub on Earth?”
“It’s not an orc. This is a leopard, also known as a jaguar or a money leopard, a species that lives on Earth.” Rhys lifted the little leopard that had been blocking his view.
The little leopard, realizing its mistake, obediently let Rhys hold it and stared innocently at the screen.
“It looks so much like an orc cub!” Jack marveled. The laws of the universe were truly mysterious, with similar creatures appearing on two planets separated by tens of light-years.
Meanwhile, at the Qi Residence, a Zerg wrapped entirely in black cloth concealed their form in the darkness, skillfully evading the Zerg soldiers guarding outside and entering Qi Lun’s study.
“Mr. Qi Lun, we need to talk about your current situation.”
