Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Odin's Divine Power
]
It was precisely because of this that when Odin learned about the existence of Senzu Beans, miraculous treasures capable of healing wounds, he wondered if he could obtain some to possibly extend his life.
Han Yu saw through Odin's thoughts, shook his head, and said, "The healing effects of Senzu Beans are indeed powerful, but they are limited to healing wounds. For an exhausted oil lamp, they can do nothing."
After a long silence, Odin let out a deep sigh. At that moment, Han Yu felt that Odin was not the mighty king who ruled over the Nine Realms, but an elderly man approaching the end of his life.
Han Yu couldn't help but sigh inwardly as well. Such a glorious figure, yet even he could not escape the clutches of death.
After a moment of silence, Odin spoke, "I agree to your request. But… may I make one more request?"
"Go ahead."
"Asgard… could I ask you to protect it until Thor is truly ready to bear the responsibility of being king? He is strong now, but not yet fit to rule. After my death, there will undoubtedly be those with malicious intentions toward Asgard. I want to have some peace of mind."
Han Yu replied, "I will."
Odin studied Han Yu for a long moment. Seeing the sincerity in his expression, Odin let out a relieved smile, extended his hand, and said, "Pleasure working with you."
Han Yu smiled back and shook his hand. "Pleasure working with you."
Just as the two reached an agreement, the sharp sound of an alarm blared from outside the room. This was quickly followed by the frantic sound of guards rushing through the halls.
Han Yu asked, "What's happening? Where is the alarm coming from?"
Odin immediately recognized the source. "It's from the dungeon where the prisoners are held. Someone has breached the protective shield!"
"Do you need my help?"
"No need. Thor will handle it."
Hearing this, Han Yu, who had started to rise from his seat, paused and sat back down. He thought to himself, Sigh, forget it. This is something they must face. I won't interfere.
He knew who had broken through the shield—it was Malekith's men, who had infiltrated Asgard to steal the Reality Stone. This was the event where Thor would lose his mother.
From this point onward, Thor's tragedies would begin one after another—first his mother, then his father, and even his often-resurrected brother Loki would meet his final end.
"Forget it, I should go take a look!"
Han Yu couldn't sit still any longer. The more he thought about it, the more he felt pity for Thor. Though he didn't have a particularly good impression of him, he couldn't say it was bad either. Thor had contributed to Earth's safety, after all.
After bidding farewell to Odin, Han Yu dashed out of the room like an arrow released from a bow, racing through the grand halls.
"Damn it, I should've asked Odin for directions before leaving. That was careless."
In the vast palace, Han Yu felt awkward as he realized he was lost. The interior was far larger and more intricate than it appeared from the outside.
He pulled out the Mind Stone, hoping to use its connection to the other Infinity Stones to locate Jane. But the Mind Stone simply lay quietly in his palm, appearing like an ordinary gem.
"You useless thing, always unresponsive when I need you the most."
Han Yu rolled his eyes but decided not to dwell on it. It seemed he would also need to craft an Infinity Gauntlet capable of controlling these stones. Otherwise, they were nothing more than pretty decorations.
"There's another one! Kill him!"
As Han Yu paused to get his bearings, several alien-looking prisoners, wielding crude weapons, emerged from a corridor. They had been trapped in Asgard's dungeons for years, their rage festering all this time.
Now, they were in a frenzy, attacking anyone they saw.
But when they shouted their threat and looked at Han Yu, expecting to see fear on his face, they froze in confusion.
Instead of fear, Han Yu looked at them with a faint smile, almost as if he was pleased to see them.
The aliens didn't even have a chance to speak again before they felt a sudden dizziness, followed by the sensation of falling to the ground. Before losing consciousness, they saw their bodies standing upright, but their heads had already disappeared from their necks.
Along the way, Han Yu casually caused several of the alien fugitives to disintegrate into nothingness. As he passed by, he noticed a few injured Asgardian soldiers and immediately rushed over to them, asking, "Have you seen Thor or the Earth girl he brought?"
The soldiers gave him a puzzled look, but after studying him and seeing that he didn't seem malicious, they pointed him in the right direction.
Han Yu glanced at one of the Asgardian soldiers, who was being supported by two others. His abdomen had a massive wound, a fatal blow to an ordinary person.
The soldier appeared quite young, and the only reason he hadn't died yet was his strong life force, resisting death. Unfortunately, this level of injury wouldn't allow him to survive long enough to reach the medical room.
"Thanks. Here, take this; it will help heal your wounds."
Han Yu thanked them and left a few Senzu Beans behind, then vanished in the blink of an eye, leaving only a breeze.
"Such speed!"
"What's this thing? It looks like something edible?"
"He said it can heal wounds. I'll give it a try. I'm already near death anyway."
Unable to resist his curiosity, the injured Asgardian soldier popped the Senzu Bean into his mouth.
"Hey, don't…"
One of the others tried to stop him from eating the Senzu Bean, unsure of Han Yu's identity. Even if he was about to die, they didn't want him to die like this.
However, the scene before them quickly disproved their concerns. Before the warning could even finish, the injured soldier's wounds healed faster than the words could be spoken. In just a few breaths, his injuries began to rapidly close up.
"I suddenly feel like I'm back to normal!"
The young Asgardian soldier flexed his muscles and excitedly stood up. The knife wound on his abdomen had already healed, and his smooth skin showed no sign of any injury.
The other Asgardian soldiers stared in disbelief at the Senzu Beans in their hands, now realizing the priceless treasure they held.
Following the directions given by the soldiers, Han Yu arrived only to find that he was too late.
Thor's mother, Frigga, had already been stabbed to death by the Dark Elf, and Malekith, the leader of the Dark Elves, had been struck by Thor's lightning, injuring half of his face. His companions had taken him away.
Watching Thor and Odin's sorrowful expressions, Han Yu stood by, feeling a pang of discomfort. Thor's mother, a powerful sorceress, had faced the enemy with only close-range weapons.
Han Yu found this rather perplexing. Even a simple illusion spell could have helped her escape; after all, the enemy didn't have the ability to dispel illusions.
"Odin, with all my divine power, is there a chance I could bring Frigga back?"
Odin held his wife tightly, his voice heavy with sorrow.
Han Yu narrowed his eyes but didn't speak.
Thor, however, couldn't remain calm. He immediately spoke out, "Father, what are you saying? What do you mean by using all your divine power? Asgard cannot survive without you!"
Odin ignored Thor's words. Slowly, he lifted his head and looked at Han Yu. His eyes no longer held the sharp wisdom they once did, replaced only by endless sorrow.
