Chapter 95: Chapter 95 – The Spiders Always Take Unconventional Paths
"Ugh!"
The Green Goblin, clutching his chest, stumbled through the corridors of the Osborn Building. He was on the upper floor, where his office was located, a space normally off-limits to anyone. Blood dripped from his shoulder, and the once-polished green armor he wore was now battered and damaged.
His steps were weak, each one a painful reminder of his current state. The original plan had been simple: deal with Gwen. But then Spider-Man had appeared out of nowhere. What's worse, he had discovered the truth—Spider-Man was Peter Parker!
"Cough! Cough!"
The pain coursing through him was unbearable as he staggered to the door and pushed it open. His body ached with every movement, and he could feel the salivation spilling from his mouth. He looked a mess—defeated and in agony.
"I can't... I can't lose. Not like this. I won't..."
Mumbling to himself, he made his way to the center of the room. His hands trembled as he reached for his mask and tore it off, a desperate moan escaping his lips. "I haven't lost yet... I haven't!"
He stumbled toward a hidden room within his office, his breath ragged as he reached for the "Human Enhancement Reagent" stored there. The reagent not only enhanced his physical abilities but also promised to heal his injuries. The downside, however, was that it came with dangerous side effects. Another soul, a demonic one, had taken control of his body, fully overtaking his consciousness.
Standing before the safe, he clutched the vial of enhancement serum in his hand, his heavy breathing betraying the strain he was under. However, before he could inject the serum, the door to his office suddenly creaked open.
Dim light from the hallway filtered into the room as Harry entered, looking bewildered. He glanced at his father's battered form, his eyes wide with shock.
"Who are you? What have you done to my father?" Harry demanded, his voice trembling with concern.
At the sound of Harry's voice, Norman Osborn turned, revealing his face—a face that horrified Harry to the core.
"Harry!"
The cold, cruel gleam in Norman's eyes sent chills down Harry's spine.
"Dad?" Harry asked, his voice barely a whisper. He couldn't believe it. The monstrosity before him was his father.
"Harry, close your eyes, 'herbivore'," Norman hissed, speaking the trigger word that would activate the hypnosis Dr. Warren had implanted in Harry's mind.
As soon as the word left his lips, Harry felt an overwhelming drowsiness wash over him. He barely managed to grip the wall before sinking to the floor, falling into a deep, uncontrollable sleep.
Norman Osborn watched his son fall unconscious with satisfaction. Turning away, he injected the "Human Enhancement Reagent" into his own veins.
"No matter what, I won't let myself lose like this!" he muttered, the words barely escaping his lips as the serum took effect.

Meanwhile, Gwen and Peter were on their way to the Osborn Building.
Gwen swung from one building to the next, her body flowing effortlessly through the air on the spider silk. The streets below were empty, the only sound the whoosh of the wind against her face. Peter followed closely behind, gliding effortlessly through the sky with the help of his webbing.
"Do you always take the unconventional route, Gwen?" Peter asked with a smirk.
"Of course," Gwen replied, still processing the shock of discovering Peter's secret identity. She could hardly believe it herself. The truth had come crashing down on her so suddenly, and she couldn't seem to shake the feeling that she was dreaming.
But as strange as it felt, she couldn't help but admit that it wasn't a bad dream at all.
"You know, Peter," Gwen continued, turning to him with a playful grin, "spiders are fascinating creatures. They can be found everywhere, even in your bathroom, of course."
"Yeah, they get a bad rap, but they're incredibly adaptable," Gwen added. "They always survive, no matter what. And everyone who tries to crush them will tell you one thing: they always take unconventional paths."
She paused for a moment, reflecting on her own journey as Spider-Woman. "It's like that, you know? I got bitten by a spider, and suddenly, my whole world changed. But it's like riding the coolest roller coaster ever. Every swing is a new adventure, and there's no waiting in line!"
Gwen swung from one building to the next, gaining speed as she passed the highest point of a skyscraper. She dropped suddenly, only to release another web and catapult herself back into the air.
"Okay, okay, maybe I'm going a little too far," she admitted with a laugh, glancing at Peter, who was flying beside her now.
"I know it's exciting, Gwen, but we need to stay focused," Peter said, his tone more serious now. "We have to stop Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin."
Gwen nodded, her face settling into determination. They were both Spiders now, and there was no turning back.
---
Moments later, they arrived at the Osborn Building. Peter gently wrapped his arms around Gwen and, with a flap of his cape, they shot through the air, crashing through the glass windows into Osborn's office.
Norman, who had just injected the serum, heard the sound of shattering glass and turned to face the two Spider-Men.
Gwen had calmed down by now, her mind sharpening with focus. She approached Norman with caution.
"Norman Osborn," she began, her voice steady, "you still have your own consciousness in there, right? You're a man, not some demon under the control of a parasitic soul."
Despite the anger and madness flashing in his red eyes, Norman was still human, at least in part. Gwen refused to give up on trying to save him, especially for Harry's sake.
But Norman's expression twisted into something more monstrous.
"Kill you, suck your blood, and take your genes," he growled, his eyes now locked on Peter.
"You and I are the same," the Green Goblin sneered. "We both have a parasitic soul within us. It will drag us both to hell. You can't escape your fate, Parker!"
Before he could say more, Peter leaped forward, delivering a powerful punch that sent Norman crashing across the room.
