Chapter 81: Chapter 81 - Kim-possible & Stormy Night I
Tony didn't expect something like that.
In all the possibilities, he expected Kim Jong-Un to lash out and scream like a toddler. But here he was, seeing the fat dictator profess his devotion. Perhaps his miscalculations were due to a lack of information about Kim and North Korea itself.
"Big, big fan! I love you, Stark! Iron Man best!"
Tony sighed, keeping his eyes away from anything below Kim's head. "Get dressed first."
"Yes, yes!"
Kim Jong-Un quickly grabbed his clothes and clumsily wore them. Then he sat down at his bed's edge, both hands clenched together in excitement.
What to do now? Tony thought internally. He originally came to blackmail and threaten Kim into becoming his pawn. That seemed like the best way to deal with him and his nuclear dreams. Let's have Jarvis run a lie detector test.
"What do you mean by being my fan? You know me?" Tony asked.
"Everyone knows Iron Man! You are my role model. Alone, you defeated aliens, and became President! I admire Iron Man," Kim babbled non-stop, rambling praises and desires. "I tried to make Iron Man too, but I failed."
Ah, that video I showed in the Senate Hearing… I get it now.
"Become my teacher, Iron Man! I want to learn from you! I'll be your student!"
What a weird day. Tony awkwardly looked at the man. Why would I take a mass-murdering maniac under my wing?
But then, Tony stopped thinking like Iron Man and instead thought like the President of the United States. Having Kim Jong-Un as his fangirl was a positive thing, wasn't it? That meant he could influence the fat toad with ease and juice out whatever benefits he wanted.
"Are you sure? This won't be a walk in the park. You'll need to follow my every order—being Iron Man's student means being the best at everything. As a man, a lover, a scientist... oh, and President too. You'll study, work out, and run your nation just like I run mine—wealth, power, and a bit of charm. Ready to take on the challenge?"
"Yes! I dreamt about this!"
"He isn't lying, Sir," Jarvis informed him from inside the helmet.
Tony was now more interested in how far he could drag Kim. Of course, he still didn't care about the man himself, his crimes were already on a mass murderer level. The best thing he could do was use Kim to solve the North Korea issue and then put him on trial.
"What's your poison? Glory, fame, a standing ovation from the crowd? Or are you more of a 'kick back and relax' kind of person?"
"I… I don't know what that means, Iron Man. I want to be like you. Famous, loved, powerful, and awesome!" Kim replied like a happy, excited kid.
Tony sighed inside his helmet and spoke with Jarvis. "What do you think is his IQ? How far can I push?"
"Not particularly bright, Sir. A study by MIT suggests that those engrossed in celebrity worship tend to have lower IQs. This individual, however, takes it further—detached from reality, narcissistic, and entirely self-serving. His good deeds hinge solely on the promise of applause. The optimal approach? Sustain his illusion of grandeur. With a few bot accounts offering praise on the internet, he'll follow orders unquestioningly."
Tony agreed with that evaluation and looked at Kim. "Alright, first things first—let's slap an official title on this. We can't exactly team up if our nations are playing Cold War 2.0. You'll announce that the U.S. President is set to visit North Korea. Make it sound historic. Bonus points if you get my good side in the press photos."
"No, Iron Man. I can't do that. China will kill me. They have many friends on my staff, many generals are friends with China. I'm not big enough," Kim revealed, nervously and hopefully looking at Tony. "I don't have complete control yet."
Ah, I forgot North Korea is closer to a feudal nation than a dictatorship. Tony sighed, finding yet another headache that he'd rather not deal with.
"Do you know their names?"
"I know the big ones."
"Alright, I'll handle them. But if you're aiming for sidekick status, here's a tip: roll out the red carpet and charm Uncle Sam. Then you can feed your people, flood the airwaves with American blockbusters, and drop some tunes. Trust me, Kim, they'll love you for it—like Oscars-level love."
"Oscar? Me?"
Wait, did he think I'd give him an Oscar?
"Sure."
"I'll do it! I have all their names! Wait, please."
Tony watched awkwardly as Kim ran to grab some papers and a pen. Meanwhile, the girl Kim had fetched for the night sat at the side, embarrassingly dressed up in her wrinkled clothes. She definitely knew English as she reacted to certain words.
"Here! They are the ones I know. I think there are many more." Kim gave the paper with a list of names.
Tony casually glanced at the paper before burning it in his palm. "Alright, Kim, I'll wait for the big announcement. No pressure, but your audition for sidekick status is riding on this. Don't make me regret it."
Finally, Tony started walking towards the door to leave.
"See you soon, Kim."
Clack!
He walked out into the lobby and vanished using the stealth mode. The new suit was no joke, the peak innovation that took him years, and with Reed's help, he finally had it—Nanotech.
Woosh!
Once he was out of the building, he flew straight up and headed southward toward Seoul.
"Jarvis, are they working?"
"All nanobots in Kim Jong-Un's bloodstream are activated and synchronized. Data transmission will commence by morning."
"Alright, spread the rest of the nanobots across the top tier of North Korea. Doesn't matter how deep we have to go, just make sure we're ready for whatever they try to throw at us. It's better to be over-prepared than... well, dead."
"Understood, Sir."

Three days later, North Korea dropped a bombshell. Well, a verbal one.
President Stark was going to visit Pyongyang and meet with the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-Un. The North Korean side showed excitement, as well as hope to solve the issues that hindered a greater collaboration between the two nations.
That was the official statement. But Tony knew the truth, as did the core members of his staff.
"Don't worry about it. Think of it as an adventure." Tony briefed his staff before he entered Air Force One. There were a few nervous faces, but for the most part, having Iron Man as the President helped a lot to calm one's nerves.
A few hours later, Tony arrived in North Korea, this time without his Iron Man suit. Well, he still had it on his body, just in a more condensed form as it was based on Nanobots. With a wristband on both hands, as well as ankle bands under his clothes, he had enough nanobots to send him to the Moon.
Kim Jong-Un came over to receive him at the airport. The two smiled at the camera as if meeting for the first time.
The nanobots inside Kim's bloodstream told Tony that the man was extremely excited and was barely holding himself from screaming like a fangirl and hugging him. Last time he had only seen Iron Man, after all, not Tony Stark inside that suit.
Following his arrival at the airport, Tony went to the prepared meeting area at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, a massive building. The brutalist architecture of the city was a sight to see, a remnant of the Soviet Era, yet still thriving in this part of the world.
Photos were spread across the internet and on news channels across the globe. Videos were telecasted at the same time. Most of the things were like any official meeting. Just some diplomatic talks and deals signed.
But the real surprise came when Tony and Kim held a joint meeting. In that meeting, Kim signed a deal to stop the nuclear weapons program and adopt the Stark Arc Reactors for the national electric grid. It was a major development because Arc Reactors couldn't be used to make weapons-grade nuclear material.
In response to that, Tony announced America's plan to provide North Korea aid for building needed infrastructure such as roads, hospitals, schools, and rail lines. On top of that, a student exchange program would start in a year for more cultural exchange.
For North Korea, in that case, Kim and the common people, it was a boon. For Tony, it was a necessity to move fast as he only had four years to get things right.
On official notes, nothing else happened. Tony invited Kim to visit America on a state visit. But behind the scenes, Tony and Kim had a nice dinner together. With the help of Jarvis, Tony created an elaborate psych evaluation of Kim. Later, that evaluation would be uploaded onto a localized, mini AI, that'd help Tony by running through various scenarios.
"Relax, no need to sweat over China or Russia. Just stick to the plan—smile, wave, and follow the leader. No need to play the villain; let the law do the heavy lifting. Or at least pretend the justice system exists, right? Remember, your name is tied to your country. The more the world loves you, the more they'll care about North Korea." Tony advised him while eating cheeseburgers that both of them enjoyed. "And lose some weight, buddy. Don't you see those K-pop boys with fangirls? Strive to become that."
"But I love eating."
