Chapter 188: Power
After the system explained everything to Blake, it asked him to view the process from a third-person perspective. Blake watched as the Reality Stone merged directly into every inch of his flesh, blood, and bones.
Once the fusion was complete, the Space Stone turned into a blue mist that entered Blake's heart and ultimately vanished.
When his consciousness returned, Blake remained still, quietly sensing his body.
He didn't feel any physical changes in his strength, which aligned with what the system had said: the Reality Stone was constructing something, but it had not yet caused any tangible transformation.
However, with the Space Stone now fused with his heart, Blake felt that while the energy he could output remained unchanged, the total amount of energy within him seemed infinite.
In other words, although the two stones were still in the process of merging, his physical and magical attacks were unaffected for now—the only change was that his energy reserves had become limitless.
Additionally, perhaps because the Space Stone had previously been integrated with his storage space, Blake found that the storage space on his hand was still functional. More importantly, he now possessed this ability innately.
With a simple motion, he could open a personal dimensional space capable of storing unlimited items.
The same applied to opening wormholes. No longer did he need to make a physical gesture or give himself a mental prompt to activate the Space Stone. With just a thought, a nearly invisible wormhole appeared a short distance away.
After conducting his experiments, Blake slowly turned to look at Thor and the others.
"Are... are you okay?" Thor asked in disbelief, staring at Blake.
"Better than ever!" Blake replied with a smile.
As he spoke, a wormhole appeared out of thin air. Blake grabbed Darcy's hand and stepped through, returning to London in a single stride.
"Blake, are you sure you're okay? You just absorbed two Infinity Stones!" Thor exclaimed, his gaze fixed on Blake. At that moment, Thor felt that Blake seemed more like a deity than himself—after all, those were two Infinity Stones he had just consumed!
"Relax, I'm fine. I'll explain later," Blake replied, brushing off Thor's concerns.
He then turned to Darcy, Jane, and the others, saying, "The Nine Realms Convergence has already begun. We don't know how many people or objects might be displaced into other worlds due to spatial disturbances, nor what might be transmitted here from other realms. Go find Dr. Selvig and use his gravity stabilizer to protect Earth's spatial balance. I'll arrange for help to assist you."
"The Aether within me is the sacred relic of the Dark Elves. They won't let this go. I need to move to a different location—I can't let the battlefield be on Earth."
After bidding an emotional farewell to Darcy, as well as Jane and Ian, Blake promised repeatedly that he would make more time to visit Darcy in the future.
He then pulled Thor along and traveled to Asgard.
In the golden halls of Asgard, Odin's reaction was no better than Thor's earlier one.
"Are you certain? You've absorbed *both* Stones?" Odin asked, circling Blake several times as if trying to confirm it with his own eyes.
With a single thought, Blake created a spatial wormhole beside him. Then, with another thought, an energy shield formed from the Space Stone's energy materialized around him.
"The Reality Stone is within my body as well, but for now, I can't use its power," Blake explained.
Odin nodded, his face filled with astonishment. He could sense that Blake had just utilized the Space Stone's abilities, yet the Space Stone itself was no longer a separate entity. This fact alone left Odin deeply impressed.
"No wonder the Ancient One said you could change destiny. Now, I completely believe it!" Odin exclaimed.
Unlike Odin, the Avengers weren't as awed by the Infinity Stones. Blake had already demonstrated numerous miracles in their presence, and although they understood that absorbing two Infinity Stones was an extraordinary feat, they didn't experience the same visceral reaction as Odin or Thor.
The appearance of the Aether would undoubtedly awaken the dormant Dark Elves. On this point, both Blake and Odin were certain.
Given the effects of the Nine Realms Convergence, Blake instructed the group to return to Earth's base and assigned Tony, Steve, and Thor to assist Jane and her team in London. Meanwhile, Blake planned to travel alone to Svartalfheim, the fabled Dark World, the homeland of the Dark Elves.
"I can go with you!" Thor said earnestly, looking at Blake.
"There's no need. It's not that I doubt your combat abilities," Blake replied, placing a reassuring hand on Thor's shoulder. "You mentioned the Dark Elves possess a singularity grenade with immense destructive power, capable of even catching Odin off guard and dragging him into spatial turbulence. I've never encountered it, but I have a strong sense that energy derived from space poses no threat to me."
Blake's confidence was palpable. Though his current strength hadn't noticeably changed after absorbing two Infinity Stones, he had an innate feeling that reconstructing his body with the Stones placed him above all life in the Marvel Universe.
Whether it was the so-called Eternals or the Celestials—assuming they still existed (excluding Peter Quill's opportunistic father, Ego)—Blake believed he had surpassed them. Furthermore, though the system had provided a thorough explanation, Blake couldn't shake the feeling that the six Infinity Stones weren't just a simple set. He suspected they were part of a transcendent lifeform beyond this universe.
But that was a thought for another time. For now, the priority was to eliminate the Dark Elves and earn some points.
Since he hadn't visited the Dark World before, Blake sought out Heimdall for assistance.
Meanwhile, in the Dark World, as Jane and Darcy accidentally activated the Aether by touching a stone fragment, the Aether immediately awakened the dormant Dark Elves.
In an impossibly deep canyon shrouded in endless darkness, pairs of eyes began to open in the shadows.
"How many years has it been? How long have we slept since Asgard defeated us? The Aether has finally resurfaced. This time, we will not fail. Darkness will once again envelop the entire universe!" Malekith declared, having awakened from his slumber. Feeling the Aether's call and surrounded by countless newly awakened Dark Elves, he raised his voice in a hoarse yet determined vow.
This time, he would not allow himself to fail.
However…
Just as Malekith was about to speak further, the powerful connection he felt to the Aether suddenly vanished.
The words meant to rally his forces got stuck in his throat. With his mouth half-open, Malekith froze, emitting a sound akin to the clucking of a startled hen.
At that moment, a rainbow beam shattered the darkness that had enshrouded the Dark World for millennia. The mark of the Bifrost once again illuminated this land.
As the light dispersed, Blake appeared, a faint smile on his face.
