Chapter 41: Reincarnation II

"Young master, it's time to wake up."

Hearing the words, Michael, who has been sleeping, slowly opens his eyes and looks at the face of the maid. Her name is Katherine, and she has been his maid since he was little.

Michael nods as he sits up. The maid helps him change his clothes and bathe him. Though at first it felt awkward, he has now gotten used to it. After preparing him, the maid leaves, reminding him, "Young master, your breakfast will be ready soon."

Michael nods in acknowledgment. He is now six years old, and over the years, he has gathered information about his surroundings. It turns out that he is the only child of the Silva Viscounty family. His father is a viscount, and fortunately for Michael, his father is a kind and honorable lord. People admire him for his fairness and integrity.

They are rich and noble, and his father, a mage, though not particularly powerful, is a Grand Mage. Michael has always been allowed to study various magical books with his father, which helps him understand the magic system of this world.

It is a world where magic is essential. Everyone here is born with mana cores, though not everyone can use magic. Only those with talent can harness it, and then there are people like him, who have an active mana core, allowing him to use magic through sheer will. Unlike those with static cores, who can only use magic while performing hand signs and such.

One remarkable thing about this world is the mana core. Most people have dormant cores unless they awaken them, like Michael did. His core currently glows bright yellow, with faint hints of green swirling inside it. The mana core's color changes depending on one's proficiency and mastery of magic. It can shift from dark red to bright red, then to yellow, and even to green, violet, and white.

Right now, Michael's mana core is a bright yellow, slowly transitioning into a light green hue, symbolizing his early growth in magic.

"A few more days, and I will have a dark green magic core," he mumbles as he looks at himself in the mirror.

This country is called Griffith Country, and there is a lot of corruption. The nobles here are bloodthirsty beasts, thinking of common people as nothing but commodities, abusing them whenever they can. Though there are good nobles too but they are like only 10% among the whole Kingdom.

He often feels fortunate that his father is good noble, not a greedy bastard. Michael's life, unlike those of many other nobles, has not been one of abuse. Even though he has been raised in the same class, his father has taught him to value the common people and lead justly. He is grateful for that.

Michael sighs as he thinks about it. The world is filled with corruption, and though his father isn't perfect, he is far better than most.

"Son, come, breakfast is ready," a voice calls, snapping him out of his thoughts. He turns to see the beautiful woman who has always been kind to him, Amelia. Her long, dark hair and soft, blue eyes are a comforting presence.

Her name is Amelia Silva, his birth mother, and she always dotes on him. She gently takes his hand, leading him toward the dining room, where a lavish table is already set.

"Michael, there's a festival going on in the village nearby. Would you like to go?" she asks, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "It's in Lutia village, and Count Lark is hosting it. I think it would be a good opportunity for you to see something outside the manor."

Michael nods thoughtfully. "Okay, then we will go," he says, smiling at her.

Amelia smiles back and continues to eat her breakfast as well.

After Amelia finishes eating, she leaves to attend to her usual work. Both of Michael's parents are Grand Mages who work at the Magic Association.

Michael, meanwhile, makes his way to the family library, where two guards stand just outside. They salute him respectfully as they open the door, allowing him to step inside. Once inside, Michael closes the door behind him and walks over to the sofa. He doesn't need to pick out any books from the vast collection because he already has his Legacy one ready: The Twilight Grimoire, his treasured source of knowledge on magic.

Sitting comfortably, he gently raises his right hand and activates the hidden tattoo of a grimoire on the back of it. The tattoo glows faintly before materializing the actual grimoire into his hand. It hovers for a moment in the air before settling into his grasp. This magical artifact is attuned to him, allowing him to call upon it whenever he desires.

Michael opens the grimoire to the section on Tier II magic spells. He has already mastered Tier I magic, which includes basic spells like fireballs, wind walls, and ice darts. The magic system in this world is divided into tiers, with Tier 0 being rudimentary magic—simple manipulations like conjuring water droplets or sparks of fire. Tier I includes basic offensive and defensive spells, while Tier II and beyond introduce more complex and potent magic. At Tier IV, spells can blend multiple elements seamlessly into one powerful attack.

"Fortunately the first world is that of Magic, its fun to learn more about magic," he murmurs to himself as he flips through the pages, eager to learn more.

The world has seven primary elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, Darkness, and Spirit. However, their combinations can create powerful secondary elements like Lightning, Gravity, and Space. These hybrid elements are immensely potent and require a deep understanding of their base elements to wield effectively. Though Spirit magic is only available to Awakener like him, a term used for people with Active mana core.

Michael focuses on understanding the intricate formations of Tier II magic circles. These require precise mana control and an advanced understanding of elemental properties. He has mastered Tier I spells for all seven elements and has begun experimenting with hybrid elements.

"Lightning magic, huh? That would be interesting to master," he thinks, his mind racing with ideas for future spells.
