Mi Marido Misterioso (My Mysterious Husband)

Chapter 37: The Resolution

Chapter Thirty-Seven:

"Let us divorce."

Without a warning, Shu Tokino suddenly speaks up those unexpected words. I couldn't even say a word after hearing it from her.

"Shu?"

"You heard me, I want a divorce."

Hours ago…

That night, I let Shu Tokino sleep alone to the other room while I stay alone to our room. Even though I still wanted to talk to her, she didn't let me.

'Don't hold me.'

Those words that she told me echo through my mind and I couldn't just ignore it, but what should I do? She seems cold and aloof around me, and I couldn't blame her. It's been days since I finally decided to tell her the truth and when I'm ready, she suddenly gone and no one could find her.

I stay at my Uncle's house for quite a while but still the result that I am looking was all failed, they couldn't find Shu Tokino elsewhere. Knowing it, frustrate me but I couldn't do anything but to let them do their job. Until Sai came in and told me to wait to our house because Shu Tokino will soon go home and she did, she came back home though.

Shu Tokino, my wife, suddenly changes. I don't know and I can't explain it, her aura changes and I am not so sure if it is good or not. I couldn't even ask her where did she go or what happened to her. Makes me feel anxious and scared of what did happen to her when I was not by her side. Making me worry and think of it all through night!

"Mon," Redmond called my attention.

"Have you learned something?" I asked while I keep looking through the window.

"I'm sorry but I didn't."

I take a deep breath. "As what they said." I said as I remember what Sai told me before I leave my Uncle's house.

Past…

"Sir Haimon." Sai called me out before I could go.

I turn around and answered. "Yes? What is it?"

"You won't be able to trace Lady Shuki's where about."

"What do you mean?" I curiously asked.

"It is because someone already shielded her and not even my power can undo it."

"Even if there are guards watching over her?"

"Yes. Not even Redmond or Dealla can trace her."

I don't know what I should say. "…" I heavily sigh.

"That is why you shall wait to your house for now. That's the only thing you can do for now." she seriously said.

I couldn't help but feel annoyed with myself for my uselessness in caring for my own wife. I almost regret what I told her when we last talked. But I can't do anything more, because it's too late for me to regret what I've done and I've already said.

Present…

It was all in the past and I can never return that time. Makes me feel more anxious than ever mostly right now, when she decided to slept to a different room. Not even letting me to clear things up.

"You may leave now, Mond." I said without turning my gaze at him.

"Are you sure you were, okay?" suddenly Redmond asked out of the blue that makes me look back at him. "You don't look good." He explained.

I sigh. "I don't know if I am fine. It just that…"

"Lady Shu chooses to sleep into a different room so suddenly without letting you two talk to clear things out."

"You were right but I couldn't force her. That is why I will let her for tonight and tomorrow… I'll talk to her and finally tell the whole truth."

Redmond sighs before he answered. "I don't know what happened between you and Lady Siara before, but right now. It is more important that you tell her the whole truth. Because whatever avoids you to talk, the time will come and she will also know the whole truth even if it does not come from you."

Redmond seriously stated and I know he was right. I need to tell her the whole truth, and now I'm saying it first, Siara… I'm so sorry. I'll break my promise to you.

The next day…

I saw Shu Tokino sitting outside our garden with her mug on her hand. Seeing her peacefully looking at the day sky, I approach her.

"Love?" I said and she turned her gaze at me with the same coldness and emotionless through her eyes. "Ca-can I sit beside you?" I nervously asked her.

It took her for a while before she nodded in silence and I sit beside in silence. For a while, we just enjoy the morning light as we silently listen to the birds flying around our garden.

I take a deep, deep breath before I say a word but to my surprised, she also speaks up too.

"What are--"

"Let us--"

We both stops for a while and we felt each other before I spoke again.

"You go ahead." I spoke. "Tell me what you are going to say."

"No, you speak first." She spoke.

I look at her and I still see her reaction, it still cold and emotionless. "Alright," I take a deep breath before I continue. "Wh-where did you go?" I don't know why I asked that first instead of telling her the truth.

"You already knew the answer to that." She simply answered.

"Yes, I knew but, when I came there you're not there."

"What if I tell you I seek for the truth." She suddenly replied that caught me in surprised.

"Shu…" she turned around and looks me in the eyes that made my heart beats fast, not for the excitement but because of fear. "Wh-what do you mean?"

"Why?" she said. "Can't you even trust me?"

"Of course! I trust you!"

"Then, why you didn't tell me the truth?" she seriously asked and I clearly read it through her face she already knew something.

"You knew."

"What will you do if I knew?"

Silence before her surprised.
