Chapter Thirty-Eight:

"Let us divorce."

Shu Tokino said it once again but up to this time, I cannot believe what I just heard even in my dreams. As if my mind can't process anything at all. I couldn't even know what should I react or say to her.

"… I…" I'm speechless.

"What? Is it surprising what I ask?" she said as I stay speechless. "Do you really want us to get a divorce?"

"No! Of course not!" I quickly answered.

"Then, will you tell me the truth?" she seriously asked me and this time even though I got some idea that she knows something still she wanted to learn it directly from me.

I take a deep breath before I speak. "… Alright." I spoke. "The--"

"Who is Siara Meinir?" she suddenly asked as she cuts me off and I couldn't hide my shock after hearing that name directly to her. "What? Are you surprised that I knew her name?"

"Wh-who told you about her?" I surprisingly asked as I feared of the person who told her about Siara.

"Does that even matter?"

It takes me a second before I could answer. "Whoever told you about Siara, please never listen to whatever that person said."

Shu Tokino looks at me for a while then, "tell me. Who is she?"

"She's…"

Past…

"How much you love me?" out of the blue Siara asked me.

I smile at her. "I love you till eternity." I honestly and sincerely answered.

Siara smile back at me. "Till death do us part." She replied before she embraces me.

"How about you, how much you love me?" I asked back.

She pulled a bit to look me in the eyes. "I will always love you even if I die and live again it will be always you that I will love. I will always look for you even if I don't remember you I'll always find and recognize you." She sincerely and honestly answered before she gave me a light kiss.

"Woah! That's… unexpected." I said as I'm puzzled and surprised from her answer but she just smiled at me before she kisses me once again. This time, I respond to her kiss and ignore her words.

Meinir's Residence

"Will you stop walking back and forth?" I irritably said as I watch him walked back and forth.

"What are we going to do?" he finally asked after a long hour of walking. "I can no longer stay by his side if I will--"

"Stop it will you?!" I said and heavily sigh. "He's still your friend so please, calm down. And besides, you won't be around here."

"Yes, I know." He replied as he takes a deep breath. "Anyway, we should at least ready ourselves. Soon, Lady Siara will be gone. So, we need to be ready."

He looks at me. "Are you sure it will work?"

"Of course, it will. My visions of the future tell me it is the right thing to do." I seriously answered. "And all we need to do is fulfill that without any delay."

He blows an air as he walks at the window. "Alright, if that is the only way… then, I'll be the traitor."

Present…

"She's… the woman that I loved." I finally said the truth.

Shu Tokino's eyes waver for a while before she blinks it twice and look at me straight in the eye. "Th-then do you love me?"

"Yes, I love you! And I can prove it."

"But you never trust me," she said with a sharp pain through her voice.

"No, that isn't true." I said as I came closer to her but to my surprised, she walks back away from me. "Shu…"

"Tell me. Who you really are? The real you behind your mystery, tell me. Who you really are?" she seriously asked me and I can see it through her eyes, she wanted to know the whole truth.

"Shu, I don't know where I start." I spoke. "I hide everything from you from the very beginning we have met. It is not because I don't trust you but because I want to protect you."

"Protect me. From what?"

"From the whole truth."

"But have you ever thought that what you did might hurt me?"

"Yes, I know. And I am so sorry for causing you pain. I don't intend to do that to you."

"I don't know if I will believe you or I can trust you now. It just…" she paused and shakes her head. "Let us just divorce for good."

"I'm a Vampire." I quickly replied and it took her by surprised.

"Wh-what!"

"Yes. That is the truth that I am hiding. I'm a Vampire." I spoke. "And I'm living for a very long, long time. I don't even know what exact age I am living but, maybe I am living for almost seven hundred years or more."

"Then, how can you prove me that you're a real Vampire?"

"This," I showed my eyes as I turned it to a Crimson Gold. "This is the real color of my eyes. Indicates that I came from the Pure Blood of a Vampire," I explained.

I can see through her eyes the fear that I already expected and I couldn't do anything about it. "Why?" she asked.

"Shu…"

"Am I a Vampire too?" she suddenly asked that surprised me.

"What are you talking about?"

"Kanik already told me your secret and he also told me that I'm also one of you. But how?! I'm--"

"Shu!" I grab her shoulders after hearing what she just said. "Kanik! Did you talk to Kanik?!"

"Yes!"

"But why?! Why did you do that?!"

"Because you don't want to tell me the truth, so I looked for someone else to tell me the truth. And Kanik was the only one ready to tell me the whole truth!"

"You! You should never ever listen to him!"

"And why should I not? If the person I want to question is not willing to tell me the truth."
