Chapter 177: Chapter 177: Sukuna's Fall
Seeing that Mahoraga's strength had finally stopped growing, Sukuna stepped out from the shadows.
He laughed arrogantly,
"Hahaha! I can't believe you managed to push Mahoraga to its limits. Truly incredible.
I admit, you are strong, but you've already lost this battle!"
Under Sukuna's control, Mahoraga's body turned into shadows and fused with the Wheel. Sukuna then placed the Wheel behind his own head, causing his cursed energy to grow exponentially.
Feeling the overwhelming power coursing through him, Sukuna spread his arms wide, standing in midair as he laughed maniacally,
"This power… this power!
Such immense strength, combined with my cursed techniques—I'm truly invincible now!
Alex, your time has come!"
With the fusion complete, Sukuna's power skyrocketed, surpassing even Mahoraga's peak and ascending to god-like levels.
Fushiguro Megumi's body, under the immense cursed energy, began to mutate. Around his original face, a second face started to grow, and another pair of arms emerged beneath his first set. Sukuna had now transformed into the legendary figure of lore: a four-eyed, four-armed creature.
Bringing all four hands together, Sukuna formed a complex hand seal and bellowed: "Domain Expansion—Malevolent Shrine!"
Unlike his original domain, which spanned only a few hundred meters, this domain now enveloped the entirety of Tokyo and extended for hundreds of kilometers beyond.
Everyone within the domain felt a suffocating dread, as though invisible blades were hovering above their heads, ready to strike at any moment.
"Hahahahahahaha!" Sukuna's laughter echoed wildly as he gazed down at Alex from the sky, exuding supreme arrogance.
"I've become a god! It's time for you, a fake celestial, to meet your end!"
With countless eyes fixed on him, Sukuna casually waved a hand. A spatial slash, sharp enough to sever worlds, was effortlessly unleashed, hurtling toward Alex with blinding speed.
The slash moved so fast that even Satoru Gojo couldn't react. Moreover, it carried a special cursed energy composition—an evolution designed by Mahoraga to bypass Gojo's Infinity, rendering it completely defenseless.
In the blink of an eye, the spatial slash tore through the Infinity and closed in on Alex. Sukuna's grin grew even more twisted, for once Alex was dead, Sukuna would truly reign as the ultimate, undefeatable being.
The spatial slash struck Alex, carving a massive trench through the streets, slicing through buildings, and even splitting the sky and earth in two.
The attack was so devastating that, had most of its power not been concentrated on Alex, the entirety of Tokyo's buildings taller than three meters would have been severed in half.
But to everyone's shock, despite the ferocity of the attack, Alex remained unharmed.
Amid the deep trench created by the spatial slash, there was a small, untouched area—an anomaly in the otherwise flawless destruction.
At the center of that undamaged space stood Alex.
His right hand was casually extended in front of him, effortlessly stopping an attack powerful enough to tear the world apart.
Releasing a slight burst of energy, Alex dispelled the dust around him, and then looked mockingly at Sukuna, who was hovering in the sky.
With a smirk, Alex spoke a line he had prepared long ago during his time in the Marvel Universe:
"Sukuna?
The King of Curses?
How laughable!"
"You're just a weakling from a world without me. When we share the same world, you're nothing but a clown!"
Seeing Alex block his full-powered attack with only his physical body, Sukuna was in utter disbelief.
"This is impossible! Your power was only on par with Mahoraga earlier!
But now my power has doubled compared to Mahoraga's peak. How can you block my spatial slash with just one hand?!"
Alex didn't respond. Instead, he released the seals he had placed on himself. His cursed energy instantly transformed into a far higher-level energy—a power nearing the limits of a single universe.
Even without activating his "Third Tree · Abyss" state, Alex's unleashed strength now pushed close to the pinnacle of single-universe-level power.
The energy radiating from his body warped and shattered the surrounding space. Sukuna immediately noticed his own control over space rapidly diminishing, until he could no longer manipulate it at all.
Realizing the dire situation, Sukuna's confidence crumbled. Despair crept into his voice as he stammered,
"How is this possible? How can you possess such overwhelming power?"
In an instant, Alex crossed the vast space between them and appeared before Sukuna. Without hesitation, Alex reached out and grasped Sukuna's face.
With a slight application of pressure, Sukuna's face crumbled, and his head exploded.
Alex casually tossed Sukuna's broken body away. As Sukuna's remains fell, Alex hurled a brilliant white singularity toward him. A blinding light radiated from Sukuna's position, expanding outward.
It was as if a supernova had erupted from the surface of the Earth. An endless repulsive force seemed poised to annihilate the heavens, and countless minuscule spatial fractures rippled outward.
If not for the Jujutsu sorcerers' quick retreat upon sensing the impending disaster, the explosion alone would have annihilated all of them.
Satoru Gojo reached up and touched his cheek.
A tiny fragment of shattered space had grazed him just moments ago.
Against this type of attack—a shared origin with his Limitless Technique—his defenses were utterly ineffective. The fragment had breached his defenses and left a scar on his face.
He opened his eyes and looked upward.
At that moment, Gojo realized just how insignificant he was. The so-called invincible title he once claimed for himself now felt laughable. Like Sukuna, he was nothing more than a clown.
The celestial being that was Alex was too powerful. It wasn't just like a mountain weighing down on everyone—it was as if an entire world had descended upon them.
This level of power transcended their comprehension, completely breaking the world's limits and placing Alex in a dimension utterly apart from theirs.
As Sukuna's body was directly struck by Alex's supernova-like attack, it disintegrated completely. His flesh and blood were pulverized into dust by the overwhelming repulsive force, leaving only his heart—protected as a core—intact.
From the heart, Sukuna's body began to regenerate. In mere moments, he reappeared before everyone.
At this point, Sukuna had become nearly unkillable. As long as even a fragment of his flesh retained vitality, he could infinitely regenerate.
But while he could revive, each resurrection weakened him further.
This time, Sukuna's power was clearly much lower than before.
Sukuna, unable to comprehend what was happening, shouted in frustration, "Why?! Why can your power still harm me when the Wheel has already adapted to it?!"
At this moment, Alex stood high in the sky, looking down at the battered and desperate Sukuna below.
As it turned out, power defined confidence; without it, arrogance was simply inviting death. And now, Sukuna was tasting the bitter fruit of his arrogance.
Alex spoke calmly:
"From my observations, Mahoraga's adaptive ability interacts with the rules of this world. As long as it doesn't reach the world's limits, Mahoraga can infinitely adapt to any power.
But if I modify the rules of this world and remove Mahoraga's adaptation ability, it's nothing more than a powerful shikigami."
Alex's tone was even, as though casually stating an observation, but Sukuna couldn't accept such a claim calmly.
"Modify the rules? That's impossible!" Sukuna's face contorted in disbelief.
The others shared his doubts. While Alex's title was "Celestial God," they refused to believe he could truly perform acts that only gods could achieve. Modify the rules of the world? That was absurd!
In the face of Sukuna's skepticism, Alex chuckled and replied:
"And that's why you're a clown. Changing the rules is easy. For instance, I could say that the gravity near you is now ten million times stronger."
With a mere thought, Alex altered the fundamental laws of the area, increasing the gravitational force around Sukuna by a factor of ten million.
Sukuna's body was immediately forced to the ground, crushed under the immense pressure. His form oscillated between collapse and regeneration, the cycle repeating endlessly.
Within a radius of three meters around Sukuna, the ground sank violently, plummeting a kilometer into the Earth before stopping.
Deep beneath the surface, Sukuna managed to escape the area of enhanced gravity, suffering severe injuries in the process, and resurfaced above ground.
He looked at the region of overwhelming gravity with lingering fear but tried to feign disdain as he scoffed, "Increasing gravity? That doesn't count as changing the rules!"
Alex raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by Sukuna's taunt, and continued to rewrite the laws of the world.
"Still deluding yourself? Fine, let's try something bigger. Do you know what happens when 1+1=2 stops being true?"
Alex smiled faintly and elaborated:
"When 2 turns into 3, additional protons, neutrons, atoms, molecules… everything will exponentially multiply. The energy in the world will increase without limit, and eventually, the entire world will regress into primordial chaos—like the time before creation itself."
The spectators of this battle immediately felt an overwhelming sense of dread.
Satoru Gojo flew into the air, shouting toward Alex with urgency:
"Alex, what are you trying to do? Stop this immediately!"
Even though Gojo didn't entirely believe Alex could rewrite the fundamental rules of reality, the mere possibility terrified him.
If Alex truly altered the basic mathematical logic of the universe, it wouldn't just destroy Earth—the entire world would collapse under the unending surge of energy.
Alex, noticing Gojo's panic, waved a hand dismissively. "Relax, I've got this under control. I won't let the universe get destroyed."
Gojo: "…"
You don't look like you have this under control. And honestly, if humanity is wiped out, what difference does it make if the universe survives?
At that moment, Gojo Satoru tried to approach Alex to stop him, but it was already too late.
Suddenly, everyone present found themselves in a new world.
Although the surroundings seemed identical, there was a strange unfamiliarity—as if the world they were seeing was merely a reflection in a mirror.
Alex had pulled everyone into a mirrored dimension that he had just created. Smiling down at Sukuna, he said, "Well then, let's make the explosion a bit more intense, shall we?"
In an instant, the fundamental rules of the mirrored dimension were altered.
The equation 1+1=2 was rewritten to 1+1=3.
It began with a single point, which rapidly expanded, engulfing Sukuna in moments.
At first, Sukuna managed to barely withstand the chaotic energy, but as the energy exponentially multiplied, he could no longer hold out. Within seconds, he was consumed entirely by the boundless energy, leaving not even a single cell intact.
The energy continued to erupt endlessly. Under Alex's protection, the sorcerers from Jujutsu High could clearly see the terrifying vortex of destruction.
First, Earth was completely annihilated. Then the entire solar system. Soon, even galaxies far beyond their vision were snuffed out, their stars vanishing one by one.
Within a minute, the Milky Way ceased to exist.
Within five minutes, nothing remained in the mirrored dimension.
As the universe adapted to the new rule, 1+1=3, the fabric of existence unraveled entirely. All that was left was an infinite vortex of chaotic energy that flowed through the void, destroying any possibility of creation.
Perhaps, after countless eons, life based on the new rule might arise, but everything that once existed had already been obliterated.
The sorcerers from Jujutsu High stood frozen, staring at the nothingness before them. In this mirrored universe, there was nothing left—no stars, no planets—only the small group under Alex's protection.
When they finally came to their senses, Yuji Itadori roared at Alex in rage: "Alex, what have you done?! You've destroyed the entire universe! You're even more evil than Sukuna!"
Alex slapped Yuji across the face, snapping him back to reality. Once Yuji calmed down, Alex spoke leisurely: "Don't be so dramatic. I'm a good guy. And who told you I destroyed the universe? What you're seeing now is just a mirrored world I created.
This mirror dimension is nothing but a reflection of the original universe. Everything here, except for you and me, is just a copy."
"Ah, I see!" Yuji exclaimed, slamming a fist into his palm in realization. But then, he quickly came back to his senses and prepared to shout at Alex again—only to remember the slap earlier. Swallowing his anger, he timidly asked: "But wait… Sukuna was using Megumi's body. Now that you've killed Sukuna, doesn't that mean Megumi died with him? What about Megumi?"
Alex smacked his own forehead. "Thanks for reminding me—I almost forgot. Alright, come on out, Megumi!"
With a wave of his hand, Alex rewound the time and space where Sukuna had been destroyed. Sukuna's form reappeared, his confusion evident as he blinked and looked around.
Before Sukuna could react, Alex appeared in front of him, reached into Megumi's body, and forcibly extracted Sukuna's essence. Then, with a flick of his hand, he obliterated it entirely.
Sukuna was dead. Then alive again. And now, dead once more.
Megumi awoke moments later, dazed and unaware of what had just happened. Yuji quickly filled him in.
Megumi, like everyone else, stared at Alex and the shattered universe around them in utter disbelief. The question arose in his heart:
"Is this something a human can even do? Are you truly a god?"
Alex stroked his chin thoughtfully before nodding. "To you, I might as well be. You could even call me God if you'd like."
Gojo Satoru suddenly seemed to realize something and asked nervously: "So… you're not really my great-great-grandfather, aren't you?"
Alex laughed. "Of course not. The evidence that says I am? All fabricated by me when I altered reality. But hey, I'm still fine with being your ancestor in spirit."
Gojo: "…No thanks."
With that, Alex returned the Jujutsu High sorcerers to their original universe.
