Chapter 178: Chapter 178: New World
After bringing everyone back to their original universe, Alex consumed a portion of his energy to stabilize the laws applied to the sorcerers of Jujutsu High, enabling them to continuously grow stronger using the Saitama Training Method.
Of course, there was a limit to how much they could grow using this method.
Their maximum potential was the Sky Father level. Once they reached that level, their strength would stabilize, and no amount of training could improve it further.
As a playful twist, Alex set their time limit for reaching the Sky Father level to exactly three years—the same amount of time as Saitama's training regimen.
Before leaving, Alex eradicated most members of the Three Great Families. These useless remnants had dared to act against him in the past, sealing their fate.
After bidding farewell to everyone, Alex opened a portal and stepped into a new world.
---
With a single step, Alex transitioned into another world.
He left the universe of Jujutsu Kaisen and entered a different one.
Surrounding him was a dense forest, its primitive landscape preserved in its natural beauty. Thick foliage blocked most of the sunlight, dispersing the heat. The occasional breeze blew through the trees, creating a serene, cooling atmosphere. Even though it was noon in the peak of summer, it didn't feel overly stifling.
The first thing Alex did upon arriving in this new world was seal much of his own power to experience more excitement and uncertainty. As a result, his perception was greatly diminished, and he had no way of immediately determining what kind of world he had entered.
But he liked it this way. This was exactly what he wanted.
As his powers grew, he had become increasingly close to omniscience and omnipresence. Even advanced technologies like nanotechnology, which once amazed him, now held no mysteries under his gaze.
Amidst the rustling leaves and the chirping of cicadas, Alex calculated a direction and started moving forward.
He could faintly hear noise ahead—a sign of human activity.
Initially, Alex had planned to seal his powers down to the level of Captain America. However, that proved far too difficult.
His strength grew with every passing second, producing the equivalent of an entire galaxy's power. Even with his efforts to suppress himself, his strength still surpassed that of several Hulks combined.
Sighing, Alex muttered: "Being too powerful really is a burden. Many pleasures in life just don't hold any meaning for me anymore.
No wonder mortals say immortality is a curse—it turns out they're right."
---
After leaving the forest, Alex continued walking, gradually encountering scattered wheat fields.
As he moved further, the fields became denser, and people began to appear.
Judging from their clothing and appearance, Alex deduced that he had arrived in post-2010 China.
Farmers worked busily in the fields, weeding or irrigating, each occupied with their tasks.
However, Alex quickly attracted their attention. In this rural village, someone dressed as fashionably as Alex—clearly someone from a big city—was a rare sight.
Thanks to his heightened hearing, Alex overheard the farmers whispering: "Huh, another city guy? A few days ago, Zhang Chulan from the Zhang family came back, and he was dressed just like this young man."
Another middle-aged man countered: "Nonsense! Zhang Chulan isn't a city guy; he's originally from our village!
Besides, Zhang Chulan can't compare to this young man. His clothes aren't as nice, he's not as tall, and he doesn't look as handsome.
Sigh… this young man has it all—except for that dyed hair of his. If not for that, I'd have already introduced him to my daughter!"
Another farmer chimed in, teasing:
"Give it a rest, Old Li. With your daughter being 4'11" tall and weighing 180 pounds, let's not ruin someone else's life.
Besides, even the young men in our village don't fancy her. What makes you think this handsome guy would?"
Sure enough, the two middle-aged farmers began bickering.
Spending a small amount of energy, Alex conjured a handful of sunflower seeds and leaned against a nearby tree, watching the two argue. When their spat eventually died down, Alex let out a disappointed sigh before continuing on his way.
What a pity—they didn't start a fight.
This little incident reaffirmed Alex's belief that sealing his powers was the right decision. Being overwhelmingly powerful made life too convenient, often robbing him of the chance to savor the little moments along the journey.
At the same time, he managed to gather some vital information from their conversation.
The name Zhang Chulan was incredibly familiar to him!
If he wasn't mistaken, this was the world of The Outcast.
In a secluded corner, Alex conjured a Ferrari sports car. Without worrying about damaging its undercarriage as it scraped against rocks and dirt roads, he casually drove it to the main road and eventually arrived at a small town.
By the time Alex reached the town, the sky had darkened. Just as he was about to open a portal to his pocket dimension to relax for a bit, he caught a faint sound in the distance.
Among the noises, he distinctly heard the name Zhang Chulan.
Recalling the original storyline, Alex quickly deduced the timeline: this was the very beginning of The Outcast!
Closing the portal he had started to open, Alex leisurely strolled toward the distant abandoned construction site.
He was already itching to meet the characters.
---
At the abandoned construction site, four people stood amidst the rubble.
They were:
Liu YanYan, a young girl with bright yellow hair and a mischievous demeanor.
Lu Liang, a short, bespectacled man with a scheming look.
Xia He, a voluptuous woman with striking pink hair.
And Zhang Chulan, tied up on the ground, writhing and struggling like a helpless caterpillar.
At this moment, Liu YanYan, full of pride, declared to Lu Liang: "I've captured Zhang Chulan! Now can I join you guys?"
Her face radiated eagerness as she looked at Lu Liang. Having grown bored with her mundane life, she had run away from home to explore the world.
Her first goal was to join the infamous Zensei (Quan Xing), a group she admired for their rebellious and carefree attitude.
After meeting Lu Liang, he had promised her that if she helped them complete a mission, she could join Quan Xing. That's why she had gone out of her way to kidnap Zhang Chulan, believing it would secure her membership.
But while Liu YanYan was bubbling with excitement, Lu Liang's expression was one of mockery and annoyance.
Adjusting his slipping glasses, Lu Liang smirked: "You, huh? Always going on about wanting to join Quan Xing. But how much do you even know about us?"
Liu YanYan blinked in confusion before replying: "I heard Quan Xing members can use their powers freely and live without any rules. It's so cool and individualistic!"
Lu Liang sighed in exasperation:
"Well, you're not wrong… but clearly, you don't get it.
In Quan Xing, there really aren't any rules. As long as you declare yourself a member, then, voilà, you're part of Quan Xing."
Liu YanYan froze for a moment, her brain slowly piecing things together. Then she exploded in anger:
"You jerk! You tricked me! And to think you made me go through all that nonsense!"
As the conversation continued, Xia He walked over to Zhang Chulan, removed the cloth gag from his mouth to let him speak, and then leaned in close, pressing herself against him while running her hands over his body.
Zhang Chulan, being inexperienced with such interactions, instantly turned red, stammering incoherently as he tried to figure out what to say.
But before anything further happened, Xia He suddenly stopped and turned her gaze in another direction.
A few seconds later, both Lu Liang and Zhang Chulan followed suit, turning to look in the same direction as Xia He. Finally, even Liu YanYan noticed the faint sound of approaching footsteps in the distance.
The sound grew louder until a figure slowly emerged from the shadows. Taking in the scene before him, the figure shouted angrily: "Stop! Let that boy go! Come at me instead!"
Lu Liang and Liu YanYan: "…"
As the figure drew closer, Lu Liang and Liu YanYan both relaxed.
There was no overwhelming aura of power emanating from him, no sense of oppression that would suggest a formidable presence. Other than his strikingly handsome appearance and unusual silver hair, he seemed completely ordinary.
Lu Liang, deciding there was no threat, prepared to step forward and knock Alex unconscious. But before he could act, he noticed Xia He behaving strangely.
She had completely abandoned Zhang Chulan and was now standing frozen, her face flushed as she stared intently at the approaching man.
What unsettled Lu Liang even more was the peculiar expression in Xia He's eyes—an unmistakable mix of desire and dread.
It was as if the man before her exuded both irresistible allure and a sense of mortal danger, like a deadly poison that drew her closer despite the obvious risk.
Cold sweat immediately broke out on Lu Liang's forehead.
For Xia He, one of Quan Xing's famed Four Sorcerers, to react with such fear and longing toward this stranger—what level of power must he possess?
Though Lu Liang couldn't gauge Alex's true strength, he now knew this was someone far beyond his comprehension.
However, the simple-minded Liu YanYan failed to notice any of this. Completely unfazed, she briskly walked past Lu Liang and approached Alex.
Even though Lu Liang had not entirely lost his sense of morality and wanted to stop her, she moved too quickly for him to intervene. And as much as he wanted to save her, he wasn't selfless enough to risk his life doing so.
Under the watchful eyes of Zhang Chulan, Xia He, and Lu Liang, Liu YanYan stood before Alex, placed her hands on her hips, and snapped:
"This isn't a place for ordinary people like you! Leave now!"
Lu Liang could already envision her gruesome fate. Experts of Alex's caliber were usually arrogant and intolerant of disrespect. He fully expected Liu YanYan to be slaughtered in the next moment.
But to his astonishment, Alex showed no signs of anger at Liu YanYan's outburst. Instead, he smiled warmly and replied: "Oh, a corpse herder, huh?
That's a fascinating ability…
Hello, I'm like you all—an Outcast. I'm not some ordinary person."
Despite Alex's calm demeanor and lack of malice, Lu Liang's anxiety only grew.
His understanding of human psychology told him that Alex wasn't indifferent because he had a kind heart or a forgiving nature.
No, it was because Alex didn't even regard Liu YanYan as an equal.
To him, she was nothing more than a harmless pet. No matter how angry or defiant she appeared, he perceived it as little more than a kitten throwing a tantrum—amusing, but ultimately inconsequential.
When the power gap becomes insurmountable, anger from the weaker party becomes nothing more than a joke to the stronger one.
Witnessing this exchange, Xia He and Liu Lang instinctively retreated, with Zhang Chulan squirming backward like a worm.
However, Liu Yanyan still failed to notice anything amiss. She took a step back, a trace of caution in her voice as she asked,
"You're an Outcast too? What are you doing here? Let me tell you, this area has already been claimed by Quan Xing. If you don't want to get beaten up by us, you'd better leave!"
To the sheltered young girl, the harshest punishment she could imagine was a simple beating.
She had been shielded by her elders for far too long, unaware of the true darkness lurking in the world.
And she certainly didn't understand the true nature of Quan Xing.
Alex shook his head and refused to leave, replying, "Actually, I'm a member of Quan Xing as well, so we're allies."
Liu Yanyan blinked in surprise.
"You're part of Quan Xing? That makes us companions!"
But Alex shook his head again, his gaze turning profound as he looked at Liu Yanyan. "You've joined Quan Xing, but how much do you actually know about it?"
Having just been asked this same question by Lu Liang moments earlier, Liu Yanyan confidently responded, "Quan Xing is a group of people who act as they please, using their abilities however they like.
And as long as you claim to be a member, you're part of Quan Xing!"
For the third time, Alex shook his head, his tone turning deep and serious: "No, you still don't understand. Let me enlighten you.
Quan Xing was founded by Yang Zhu, a philosopher from the Warring States period, and was originally based on the principle of 'Preserving one's nature and not being bound by external objects.'
In Yang Zhu's era, the doctrine emphasized not harming others. But over the course of thousands of years, Quan Xing's philosophy has drastically changed.
Today, its teachings have devolved into total lawlessness and unrestrained behavior.
As a result, Quan Xing has become a despised and reviled sect, considered evil by the world of Outcasts.
There's even an unwritten rule in this world:
Quan Xing treats the world as it pleases, and in turn, those who are not part of Quan Xing can treat Quan Xing members however they wish.
This means that when others discover you're part of Quan Xing, even if they assault you, torture you, dismember you, or execute you by a thousand cuts, they won't face any consequences."
Alex's grave tone and the darkness of night added an almost chilling weight to his words.
Liu Yanyan felt as if an infinite terror was swallowing her whole. Her body trembled uncontrollably as horrifying images of herself being captured and tortured played repeatedly in her mind.
So vivid was her imagination that she even felt phantom pains throughout her body.
A few seconds later, her legs gave out, and she collapsed to the ground, trembling. A pale yellow liquid began to seep from beneath her skirt.
The poor girl had been utterly terrified by Alex's words.
Terrified out of her wits, Liu Yanyan prostrated herself on the ground, sobbing uncontrollably as she begged:
"No… please don't kill me… I won't be part of Quan Xing anymore… I want to go home… I want to go home!"
While Alex had thoroughly enjoyed scaring her at first, her incessant crying began to wear on his nerves.
Feigning a menacing demeanor, he barked: "Shut up, or I'll have Zhang Chulan take you by force!"
At this additional threat, Liu Yanyan finally stifled her sobs, reducing them to quiet sniffles.
Meanwhile, Zhang Chulan could only roll his eyes internally, silently lamenting: 'Can't you guys talk without dragging me into it? What does this have to do with me?!'
