MY 10,000× DIMENSIONAL SYSTEM

Chapter 40: Confrontation

Confrontation

The time for the Auction had finally arrived.

After Kim had managed to calm down, the group watched on as the golden invitation card started to glow. And then, in an instant, a magic circle of the same color appeared at their feet.

'Hm, not quite teleportation, but a rune to move us at, presumably the speed of light. Cool. Though I wonder why light magic is sometimes white and other times golden.' Christopher thought before the group vanished in a streak of light that shot through the sky.

Sinestra Island was considered to be a massive natural treasure for a few reasons.

The most notable of which was that the place had an incredible Mana density compared to most parts of the world. And was judged to be around a hundred times denser than most Mana filled locations.

Moreover, the place was filled with all sorts of natural resources. The trees produced fruits that could aid in one's cultivation, the soil was incredibly fertile, and there were many rare ores that could be used to make powerful Artifacts.

However, despite it being so valuable, no power had made any effort to try and take the place for a simple reason. The island had a will of its own.

It had its own consciousness, and despite being stationary, it was very powerful, and any attempts made to conquer it usually ended in failure. And for the consciousness itself, it was named, well, Sinestra.

So one might ask, if the Island Sinestra wouldn't let people take it over, how was an Auction being hosted on it?

Well, as mentioned previously, the thing is stationary. So despite having a will, it wasn't able to do much and thus became very bored.

So after staving off many attempts at subjugation, the being decided to come to an agreement whereby the inhabitants of the world could use the place as a sort of middle ground to do things. Whether meetings or the like.

However, among the things that were agreed upon, the different forces on the planet collectively agreed that an Auction will be held once every ten years on the Island. This was under a treaty that essentially barred kingdoms and powerful forces from fighting against each other and hurting the inhabitants of the world over an item.

And so instead of fighting, it came down to a show of wealth to see who could afford the item. And if one party was able to buy the item, or it was bought by a party unrelated to the conflict, then under no circumstances was fighting allowed, otherwise the one to initiate the conflict would be drowned by powerful beings.

It was quite iffy since that meant that if one party was very broke, then they would lose for sure. Same for if an incredibly wealthy outside force got it. So the agreement was this, whoever bought the item would be able to use it as much as possible, and let the unsuccessful party use it in a limited amount.

There were a few loopholes to this though, but so far no huge conflict had broken out due to it so they left it at that. And that was only for items people were fighting over.

There were plenty other items discovered by individuals that had made it to the Auction. Whether they be Artifacts, cultivation resources, and so on.

Anyway, the will of the island Sinestra saw the Auction as a form of entertainment which is the primary reason it allowed its body to be used to host the event. And since he was a reliable mediator, no one attending the Auction needed to worry about getting attacked on it.

Christopher and his group arrived at their destination, and when they came to, they found themselves in a square.

And almost exactly at the same time, multiple other streaks of light descended and landed in the same square. However the square was massive and so these streaks landed quite a distance away from each other, giving the arrivals ample space from one another.

Chiara took a deep breath and sighed.

"It's not quite as good as home. Buy its certainly better and anywhere else." She mumbled quietly and the group agreed.

Christopher noticed that the Mana density was quite impressive compared to, pretty much anywhere else in the world. However, that was all. In the end it couldn't compare to the Mana density of Christopher's Dimension which was thousands of times higher.

However, those around them didn't think so as many could be seen closing their eyes and reveling in the dense atmospheric Mana that circulated.

Christopher used this chance to get a good look at the various forces that had arrived and noted that each of them were very luxuriously dressed except a few.

As he looked Christopher was surprised to see certain beings, like Dragons standing proudly in their humanoid forms, beast people, dwarves, Vampires, people that seemed to be made out of leaves, and so on.

Christopher also saw a few familiar faces. For starters, he saw The Elven Queen and her daughter Aisha, The Second Prince along with a man, a woman, a male slightly older than him and a girl younger as well as the three Family heads.

'Must be the Royal family. How did they get so many people? Oh wait they probably had their own invites as well.' He thought before suddenly frowning behind his mask, and his hand moved to Kim's shoulder.

The girl was trembling. However it wasn't from fear or sadness. No, it was pure, unadulterated rage coursing through her Veins and he felt like she was on the verge of exploding.

"It's him." She said quietly, but the hate in her tone could not be hidden.

Gideon followed her gaze and saw that she was staring right one of the princes. The first Prince to be specific.

"Are you sure?" Christopher said nothing else and Kim nodded softly.

"There was a scent. When I looked through my house for clues, there was a note. And on it had the kill order. And it had a scent, his scent." He spoke quietly but was doing everything in her power to not lose it.

Christopher simply nodded, there wasn't an ounce of doubt in her voice. Beyond the hatred was absolute certainty, so Christopher decided that he would belive her. However what that meant? He wasn't too sure.

"Alright, I believe you, calm down, we'll figure something out. Alright?" He said softly and gradually, he felt her relax.

"Yeah. Okay." She said after a while and Christopher nodded. He'd isolated the sound with magic so not even those races with acute senses could hear what they said. And obviously they were wearing masks so no one could read their lips.

"Um, Master? Slight issue." Belladonna and the twins came up to him, the voice of the former sounding quite nervous.

"Yeah?" Christopher looked at them.

"Well, you see. My standing among Vampires isn't very small. Actually it's quite important." She started and Christopher noticed the group of well dressed Vampires approaching them.

"Moreover, Vampires aren't allowed to interact with humans. So even if they don't know it is me, they are gonna want to know why I'm with a human." She said quietly and Christopher nodded.

Then he looked at the twins and then at the group of Dragons approaching them as well and wasn't too surprised by this. Dragons were fiercely protective of their kin, and seeing two fledglings sticking to this mysterious human was bound to draw their attention.

In fact, their entire group was drawing attention. Forget the fact that their set up was strange, there was the fact that they were completely unrecognised by anyone here.

After all, this Auction is for the Elite of the Elite and as such, pretty much everyone knows who would be here. So Christopher's appearance was unprecedented to say the least.

The only people that didn't seem surprised by his appearance were the Royal Family and the Family heads along with the Elven Queen and her daughter. However they too were looking at his companions curiously.

'Well, I had a feeling this would happen. After all even with masks everyone here is simply too eye-catching.' He thought and sighed behind his mask. And then finally, the two groups reached them.

The group of Vampires and Dragons eyed each other silently but decided not to say anything to one another since they could tell they were here for different reasons. But it was still the dragons that spoke first.

"Children. Why are you with this group of people?" The dragon in the lead, an individual with average height and a handsome face with green hair, eyes and horns spoke. Not to Christopher, but to the twins.

"Same for you. Our dear Kin, why are you mixing with these people?" A gorgeous female Vampire addressed Belladonna with a cold tone, though Christopher noticed that they kept taking glances at him.

'Probably because of my blood.'He concluded.

The rest of the people watched on with interest, curious to see how these newcomers would handle the situation.

Then surprisingly, they watched the Female Vampire and the two Dragon children stare at one of the two humans in the group. (They think Thanatos is a human as well.)

The group of Vampires and Dragons frowned and stared at Christopher who guessed what was happening. As such, he shrugged and spoke lightly.

"Pleased to meet your acquaintance. You lot may refer to me as Dreamer and I am the leader of this group." He said politely, but the moment his words landed the faces of both parties darkened, especially the Dragons.

"You're saying that you, a Human, is leading our Kin?"
