Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Doting Spoils
The original owner was indeed like a cancerous tumor, unwelcome wherever she went.
With a self-deprecating curl of her lips, she couldn't refuse Bo Mom, nodded slightly, and was as meek as a kitten.
Rarely seeing such an obedient Yuran, Bo Mom's face bloomed with joy, so much so that she completely ignored her own son; after all, Yuran had been rebellious and defiant since she came to their family, disregarding whatever anyone said and stirring up trouble.
Although Bo Mom felt something was different, the love in her heart overshadowed her reprimands towards Yuran, so she let it slide.
Even though Yuran had been with the Bo Family for many years, she was not close with them, and had she not been a minor, she probably would have moved out long ago, showing no courtesy to anyone except her own son.
Ironically, her son Bo Qin was cool and indifferent and didn't like interacting with people, so even the family wasn't very close to him.
Therefore, when Bo Mom suddenly saw such a pleasant Yuran, her eyes became a bit warm, and she reached out to tuck in the corner of the blanket and then touched her face, "Good girl!"
Being pacified by an elder at 27 felt somewhat disgraceful.
A flicker of discomfort passed across Yuran's face, gone in an instant.
Bo Yan's expression was indifferent, and he didn't want to stay in the hospital room any longer, "Since you're here, Mom, I'll leave first."
Bo Mom opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something but was tugged at the wrist by Yuran and said nothing, simply nodding, "You haven't been home for a while; don't overwork yourself."
"Hmm."
…
Back in the car, Bo Yan removed his hat, sunglasses, and mask, and stared out of the window in silence, the gloom in his brows not dissipating. Xie Cheng spoke with suppressed anger, "This Yuran really never learns, always holding something back in her belly when she makes a mistake, definitely up to no good!"
Indeed, Yuran always acted pitiful to gain sympathy when she erred, then quickly reverted to her old ways, taking advantage of those in the Bo Family who cared about her without any shame.
From the beginning, Bo Yan had disliked this daughter of his father's friend. The first time he saw her, he saw greed in the depths of her eyes.
At the age of fifteen, she had used an excuse to confess her feelings to him in the middle of the night, even trying to climb into his bed, her brazen determination hiding nothing and sparking a deep revulsion in him.
Even though he had moved out of the old mansion, the few unavoidable family gatherings always filled him with aversion.
Seeing Bo Yan's sullen expression in the rearview mirror, Xie Cheng wanted to say something, but sensing the wrong atmosphere, he wisely shut his mouth.
He drove smoothly toward the hotel arranged by the film crew.
"How's the situation with Yuran being handled?" Bo Yan suddenly asked along the way, his gaze still fixed outside, his emotions unclear.
Xie Cheng was startled, "It's all taken care of. Anything solvable with money isn't really a problem."
And the Bo Family was never short of money.
Bo Yan didn't speak further or inquire about Yuran's situation again. He dived headfirst into the filming of "Hero", dedicating himself entirely to the shooting.
On the day Yuran was discharged, Bo Mom called him, asking him to come and see Yuran off. Although Yuran never showed her liking for Bo Yan in front of Bo Mom, it was obvious to the keen observer, and Bo Mom hoped for it to blossom. But her own son...
Bo Yan merely hummed in response, without making any promises. Bo Mom scolded him for not knowing how to take care of his sister, and Bo Yan simply hung up the phone.
Sister?
A sister who never stopped wanting to take advantage of her brother and was full of greed? Forget it, disgusting!
