Chapter 5: Chapter 5: How did you get here?
Bo Yan had been with the film crew for three months, in a fully enclosed environment, until "Hero" had wrapped up. He then followed Xie Cheng back to the capital city. He didn't attend the wrap-up party for "Hero" because of an interview in the capital city that had been scheduled for the next day, which he couldn't cancel.
...
The capital city, Platinum Imperial Palace.
At four in the morning, a black nanny car stopped in front of Villa No. 1. Xie Cheng, seeing Bo Yan half-lying there with furrowed brows, worriedly decided to wake him up anyway, "Bo Yan, we're home!"
During these three months, "Hero" had a very tight schedule. In addition, Bo Yan's co-star was a newcomer who frequently messed up takes. Bo Yan had a heavy role and had many scenes with the newcomer. As a senior actor, he would naturally not show a cold face to the newcomer, but this implicated him in a lack of sleep.
As soon as the filming of "Hero" concluded, the accumulated exhaustion overwhelmed him, and he fell asleep as soon as he relaxed.
The man who opened his eyes, although groggy, had a gaze as sharp as an eagle. His entire presence was like a pouncing American leopard, brimming with aggression. Only after his eyes gradually cleared did he return to his usual cold indifference.
He got out of the car, his jacket hanging on his arm, and walked towards the door. Xie Cheng called out from behind him, "The interview tomorrow is at nine in the morning. Don't forget!"
"Hmm!"
Hearing this indifferent reply, Xie Cheng's face turned green with frustration. How could Bo Yan be so unfeeling? Couldn't he say one more word? As an all-capable agent, he had to guess all his artist's thoughts. It was indeed fortunate that Bo Yan was a treasure of a boy.
It wasn't until Bo Yan's figure was out of sight that he stepped on the gas and left Platinum Imperial Palace.
As soon as Bo Yan stepped inside, he sensed that something was amiss. His piercing gaze swept over the area and landed on the girl draped over a low table under the light of a floor lamp in the living room. Her face was buried in her arms, with a workbook underneath, and a pen still clutched in her hand.
Her previously multi-colored hair had been dyed back. Dressed in a light blue loungewear, her silhouette was slender, with a graceful neck. Her pale, bare feet were exposed, occasionally quivering as if cold.
Next to her, on a cushion, lay a Scottish Fold cat, sprawling lazily in mimicry of its owner, devoid of any spirit.
Bo Yan's expression suddenly darkened as he walked over.
Yuran woke from such an intense gaze for the second time. At first a bit groggy and confused, her sleepiness vanished the moment she recognized the face of the person approaching.
She got up from the floor and avoided his gaze for a moment before meekly greeting him with downcast eyes, "Brother Qi!"
"How come you are here?"
Bo Yan asked bluntly, completely ignoring her greeting.
Surprised, Yuran looked up at him and asked with confusion, "Is it not allowed to stay here?"
The confusion and bewilderment on her face were genuine. After thinking it through, she untangled the knots in her mind, but her expression remained unpleasant. He had a severe case of mysophobia and disliked anything he didn't approve of appearing on his territory, no questions asked.
The disgust on his face made Yuran feel somewhat uncomfortable. She furrowed her brows and roughly pieced together the reasons. When her godmother had given her the keys to the villa, she only mentioned that it was spacious and convenient for her to concentrate on her studies, nothing more.
If she had been told that this was Bo Yan's villa, and that no one else was allowed to stay there, she certainly wouldn't have shown up.
After piecing together her memories, she was very aware of Bo Yan's disgust and hatred for the original owner of her body. He didn't want to spend a second in the company of the original owner. Even though the soul within had changed, in Bo Yan's eyes, there was no difference.
Whether it was the residual emotions of this body or not, she felt a slight sadness.
