Chapter 2: The Devil Showed Up to Face Lucifer
Lily froze as she lock eye on Alex gaze. She couldn't believe that the same guy who had caused her so much trouble at the restaurant months ago is standing right in front of her, as arrogant as ever. Memories of that disastrous day flashed through her mind: Alex spilling his drink on her, refusing to apologize and blaming her for his own clumsiness. The argument had disrupted the entire restaurant, leaving staff darting and customers gawking.
As the memory faded, lily snapped back to reality, narrowing her eyes "Are you following me?" she asked brusquely.
Alex lips curled into a smirk, "Hello, in case you didn't notice, this is also my school. So I should be the one asking you that question."
The students who were present began to murmur amongst themselves, excitement rippling through the crowd.
"Is that not Lily?"
"And Alex the king of bullies. Do they know each other?" A student asked her friends.
"This is going to be fun!" The other student said in excitement.
Henry, Alex closest friend, entered the hall, spotting the two standing face-to-face, he smirk wickedly.
"Well, well, well" Henry said loudly drawing more attention. "Looks like the devil just showed up to face lucifer. This is getting interesting."
Lily raised her eyebrow, she crossed her arm and looked at Alex up and down with disgust. "oh I see" she said sarcastically.
Alex ignored her and turned to Martin, who was standing beside rose and other guys, holding Lily's books like his life depend on it.
"What are you guys doing here?" Alex demanded, "And why are you carrying her books and bag? Are you daft?"
Martin was feeling embarrassed with Alex question. "Stay out of it, Alex." he warned, his tone firm.
Alex eyes widened in surprise. "What did you just say to me?"
Martin glanced at Lily, who was watching the scene with amused smile.
Noticing this, Alex turned back to Lily, his frustration growing. "What is going on here? Why are my friends carrying your books and bag?"
Lily laughter rang out, clear and mocking. "Oh they're your friends? That explains everything. Birds of the same feather flock together."
The reply sent a ripple of whispers through the crowd and Alex jaw tightened as he struggle to keep his temper in check.
Trying to regain control of the situation, Alex turned back to his friends. "Put her things down. Now."
None of them moved an inch, Lily stepped forward, "Rose" she said in a commanding tone, "Get me a bottle of water."
Rose immediately replied saying, "yes Lily," before rushing off to fulfil the request.
The students present was surprised. Alex anger boil as Lily laughed again and this time it was directly at him.
She walked up to Alex, her voice in a mockery tone. "They may be your friends, but they're my slaves...or let me call them my personal assistant. So don't cross your limit.
Alex fist clenched at his sides, he was burning with fury, but Lily wasn't finished.
She turned to martin and his friends, "You're free for the rest of the day, If I need your help I will let you know."
Martin and his friends nodded in unison, replying, "Okay Lily" before walking away without a glance at Alex.
As soon as they were out of sight, Alex turned to lily, "I will make you regret this."
Lily smiled sweetly, her eyes glinted with defiance. "No you won't"
Alex stepped closer, "You'd better watch your back." he warned her in a cold tone.
Lily leaned her head and still smiling. "We'll see about that."
There was tension between them, their silent was drawing the attention of everyone nearby.
Finally, Alex turned sharply on his heel and left, leaving Lily standing triumphantly in the middle of the courtyard.
"Did you see that?" A girl whispered to her friend. "Lily just humiliated Alex!"
"I have never seen anyone talk to him like that" another girl said.
"Is she crazy, or does she just not care?"
Lily ignored the students, brushing her hair over her shoulder as she headed towards her next class. She couldn't help but feel satisfied.
Alex Williams stormed into his dorm, slamming the door behind him. his frustration was intense. the events from earlier replayed in his mind.
It was a hit to his pride, and Alex Williams didn't take hits lightly.
As she snapped back to reality, he spotted ,Martin and the others sitting at their desks, they were reading or at least pretending to read , but Alex could see the tension in their posture.
Alex stood in front of Martin, his eyes narrowing, "What the hell is going on" Alex demanded, "What's this crap with lily? Why are you letting her order you around like lapdogs?
Martin didn't look up. he kept his gaze on the book in front of him.
"Martin," Alex pressed further, "And you're really okay with how your girlfriend is taking orders from that bitch?"
Martin raise to his feet, his chair cracked loudly against the floor with anger.
"Do you think I have a choice?" Martin shouted, his voice echoing in the dorm. "She is not just some girl, Alex, she's is dangerous.
Alex raised his eyebrow, "Dangerous? you're afraid of her? Unbelievable."
Martin take a deep breath as he was trying to calm himself down . "Look, I am warning you. Don't interfere in this, this is not your fight."
Alex sneered "Since when do you take orders from anyone, Martin? She has you all wrapped around her little fingers, and you are just going to sit there and take it?"
Martin didn't reply. Instead, he grabbed his jacked and stormed out of the room. Slamming he door behind him.
Alex was left alone with the other guys. Alex was frustrated, he turned o the others, but they avoided his gaze.
"Pathetic," Alex said before dropping onto his bed.
He stared at his ceiling, his mind racing. Lily's words, her cold smile, and the way she commanded the situation. It made his temper flare.
"They may be your friends, but they're my slaves now."
Her voice echoed in his head, no one talk to Alex Williams like that. No one.
With every ticking second, his lips curved into a wicked smile as an idea began to form in his mind.
Alex quickly grabbed his jacket and left the dorm without a word to the others.
As he walked across the school, his mind raced with ideas.
"She thinks she can humiliate me? Let's see how she handles it when the tables turn."
