Chapter 27: Chapter 27
Sage Mode enveloped Jiraiya as he summoned Fukasaku and Shima, the venerable sages of Mount Myoboku. The seasoned toads emerged on either side of him, their expressions puzzled and tense as they surveyed the battlefield. Fukasaku's voice broke the silence. "Jiraiya boy, what's going on here? Why does the air reek of tension?"
Jiraiya let out a heavy sigh, his gaze fixed on the distant figure of Naruto. "It's a long story, but I'll need your help maintaining Sage Mode. We'll talk details later—right now, there's no time."
Sensing the gravity in Jiraiya's voice, Shima nodded solemnly. "Alright, we'll help ya. But ya better fill us in once this is done!"
The toads took their positions, gathering natural energy as Jiraiya's resolve solidified.
Meanwhile, Naruto stood apart from the Konoha forces, preparing for another clash. The failed plan to overwhelm him, coupled with the sudden arrival of Kidomaru and Orochimaru, brought an air of uncertainty. Orochimaru's commanding presence, as sinister as ever, signaled a retreat.
Naruto looked toward the enemy lines with a sigh, his frustration clear. "We don't have enough strength to deal with this. Not yet."
His voice carried a reluctant edge, acknowledging a truth that stung. No matter how far he had come, his power still fell short of matching the overwhelming might of Uzumaki Chito.
The Konoha ninjas began closing in. Faced with their numbers and Jiraiya's growing power, Naruto made a swift decision. His hands moved in a flurry of seals, and with a bang, a clone of Uzumaki Chito emerged.
The mention of Uzumaki Chito's name sent ripples of unease through the Konoha forces. When the clone materialized, the air grew heavy with tension. Even as a clone, Uzumaki Chito's presence carried a weight that couldn't be ignored.
The Konoha ninjas hesitated, their boldness fading as they faced the clone's piercing gaze. Seizing the opportunity, Naruto and his group retreated, breaking free of the encirclement.
The atmosphere shifted further as Uzumaki Chito's clone stepped forward, his presence commanding. Though defiant in their words, the Konoha shinobi couldn't mask their apprehension.
Then, Jiraiya stepped forward.
With Sage Mode fully activated, the rune-like marks across his face glowed faintly, and the natural chakra coursing through him exuded power. Fukasaku and Shima sat perched on his shoulders, ready to assist in what promised to be an extraordinary confrontation.
Jiraiya's voice cut through the silence, firm but cautious. "Uzumaki Chito. Even if it's just a clone, your reputation precedes you. This ends now. I won't let Naruto fall any further."
The clone's expression remained serene, his lips curving into a faint smile. "Bold words, Jiraiya. But do you truly believe you can stop me?"
The tension hung thick in the air as Jiraiya's resolve hardened. "I won't stand idly by while Konoha is destroyed, no matter who I face."
Uzumaki Chito's clone tilted his head slightly, amused by the toad sage's determination. Slowly, he raised his hand. The atmosphere shifted once again, the pressure of his chakra washing over the battlefield. It wasn't just oppressive—it was suffocating, a stark reminder of the gulf between their powers.
For a moment, Jiraiya faltered, a flicker of doubt crossing his mind. The sheer intensity of the clone's presence made it hard to breathe. But he steadied himself, his resolve unwavering. "I've faced gods before, Chito. If I have to fight you, so be it."
The two legendary figures stood poised, the battlefield brimming with anticipation.
