Chapter 28: Chapter 28
Uzumaki Chito's seemingly ordinary gesture rippled through the battlefield like a silent storm. The air grew dense, and Jiraiya, in his Sage Mode, felt a jarring disruption. The natural energy that had been seamlessly flowing into his body was abruptly severed, his hard-earned Sage Chakra vanishing like a blown-out flame.
Panic gripped Jiraiya as he staggered backward, his voice hoarse with disbelief. "What… what have you done? My Sage Mode—natural energy—it's… gone!"
The absence of chakra, the very essence of a shinobi's power, was more terrifying than the overwhelming strength Uzumaki Chito had previously displayed. It wasn't just raw power that unsettled Jiraiya; it was the realization that Chito possessed the ability to nullify even Sage Chakra—energy infused with nature itself. The impossibility of such a feat sent waves of unease through Jiraiya, surpassing any fear of combat he had ever felt.
"You rely too much on chakra, Jiraiya," Uzumaki Chito said, his voice calm yet laced with an air of indifference. "That is the weakness of this world… and of those who call themselves strong."
Jiraiya's hands trembled slightly, not from fear of defeat, but from the existential dread of standing before someone who could unravel the very foundation of their world. His trump card, his most formidable power, had been rendered useless. For the first time, the legendary toad sage found himself utterly powerless.
Chito observed Jiraiya's reaction with satisfaction, his serene expression betraying a faint smirk.
"This conflict is over," he declared, his tone final. The oppressive force surrounding him made it clear that resistance was futile.
Jiraiya remained silent, unwilling to provoke the enigmatic figure further. He clenched his fists in frustration, his mind racing for any possible solution, yet none came. The Konoha ninjas who had rallied to his side also froze in place, their determination crushed by the overwhelming presence of the Uzumaki patriarch.
With the battlefield under his control, Uzumaki Chito shifted his attention to matters beyond the immediate conflict. His gaze turned distant, as if surveying the broader chessboard of events. "Naruto's efforts… Orochimaru's schemes… all so disappointingly small," he murmured, his voice tinged with dissatisfaction. "If you want something done properly, you must do it yourself."
Chito's tone darkened as he continued. "Konoha has its debts to pay, and I intend to collect. The death of Hiruzen Sarutobi… that was a necessary start, but far from sufficient. There are others who deserve… special attention." His words carried an ominous weight, sending shivers through the onlookers.
Jiraiya's eyes widened as Chito's words hinted at an intricate knowledge of Konoha's secrets. The mention of Shimura Danzo, coupled with Chito's disdainful reference to the concealment of Naruto's heritage and the Uchiha clan's demise, painted a chilling picture. "Danzo…" Jiraiya whispered under his breath, the name evoking both suspicion and dread.
Chito's expression shifted to one of faint amusement. "Danzo's sins are many, but his time is not yet up. He has a role to play in the futures of Naruto and Sasuke. For now, I will allow him to live… but only for now."
As his words settled over the battlefield, Chito's attention turned to the other Konoha Council, specifically Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado. His gaze sharpened, and with a subtle gesture, he unleashed a surge of majestic chakra, effortlessly manipulating the sealed natural energy that still lingered around him.
The energy crackled like a web of lightning, its tendrils stretching out as if searching for something—or someone. In moments, Chito's eyes glinted with satisfaction. "Found them," he said simply, his voice like a judge passing a sentence.
