Chapter 126: Chapter : 128
"Alright, get out of here before you embarrass yourselves further. If I see you again, I won't let you go so easily," Kirito said coldly to the three Rain Ninja.
The trio nodded frantically, bowing repeatedly as if their lives depended on it. "Thank you, sir! Thank you for sparing us!" Without wasting another second, they turned and sprinted away, disappearing into the forest.
At that moment, Gaara's voice rang out behind Kirito, cold and emotionless. "Hey, bandage guy, what's your name?"
Kirito paused for a moment, as if considering his response, and then smirked under the bandages. "Sandaime Aidanzo."
Gaara's teal eyes narrowed, the sand around him trembling slightly. " Sandaime Aidanzo… I'll remember that name. Next time, I'll kill you." With that, Gaara turned and left. Temari and Kankuro exchanged wary glances before quickly following their brother.
Once Gaara's team disappeared, Pakura and Itachi emerged from the treetops. Itachi's gaze fell on Kirito, and though his expression remained calm, his tone carried quiet irritation. "The Sandaime Aidanzo? Really? I thought you were calling yourself 'Shigure'."
Kirito shrugged nonchalantly. "What's the difference? Gaara doesn't know what it means. Besides, it's fun to poke at the Third and Danzo even from afar."
Pakura sighed, choosing not to comment on her leader's antics. Instead, she turned her attention to the bushes nearby. "Master Kirito, what about the Genin hiding over there?"
Kirito glanced in the direction of Team 8—Hinata, Kiba, and Shino—who were trembling behind cover. He smiled faintly. "Leave them be. They're not worth our time."
As they left, Kirito turned slightly, catching Hinata's wide-eyed stare. Their eyes met briefly, and he gave her a soft, fleeting smile before disappearing in a blur of motion. Hinata clutched her chest as her heart skipped a beat, her thoughts racing. Why does he feel so… familiar?
"Who the heck was that guy?" Kiba muttered, still shaken. Akamaru barked quietly in his arms, earning a frown from Shino.
"My kikaichu tell me… he has the same scent as someone familiar." Shino paused. "Yuhi Kurenai, perhaps."
Kiba's jaw dropped. "Teacher Kurenai? You're saying that guy knows our sensei?!"
Shino adjusted his glasses. "Possibly. We'll have to ask her later."
Hinata remained silent, lost in her thoughts. Could it really be you?
The five days of the second exam passed quickly. Teams who managed to collect the scrolls gathered at the central tower. Kirito's team and Gaara's team arrived on the very first day, having effortlessly completed their mission.
By contrast, Team 7—Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura—barely stumbled into the tower on the final day, looking utterly battered.
Of the three, Sakura was in the worst state. Thanks to Kirito's earlier instructions, the Sound Ninja team—led by Dosu—had focused their frustration on her. They followed Kirito's orders to the letter, slapping and beating Sakura mercilessly whenever they caught her.
By the time Team 7 arrived at the tower, Sakura was almost unrecognizable. Her face was swollen and bruised, bandages covering most of it, and her once neat pink hair had been partially ripped out, exposing her forehead. Her front teeth were missing, adding to her miserable appearance.
Naruto had tried to comfort her, but Sakura, embarrassed and angry, shoved him away. When she turned to Sasuke for reassurance, he ignored her entirely, leaving her even more humiliated.
Rock Lee, however, remained loyal in his admiration, while Ino couldn't resist mocking her rival's disheveled appearance.
By the end of the second exam, eight teams had successfully passed, totaling twenty-four Genin.
The gathered Genin now stood in a large arena-like hall within the central tower, the space intimidating and vast. Up above, the viewing balcony was crowded with Jonin instructors and senior Konoha officials.
Kirito stood at ease beside Pakura and Itachi, his bandaged figure towering calmly above the younger Genin.
