Chapter 152: Chapter 150: Izanagi
Chapter 150: Izanagi
Baishi's spirit detached from his body, floating high above as he swiftly located Danzo's position.
"Something's off," he muttered. Danzo was alone.
"Faulty intel."
He frowned and exited the spirit transformation state. Returning to his mind space, he used the connection through his mental seeds to inspect the condition of the Konoha shinobi under his control.
Minutes passed, and everything seemed normal.
It dawned on him: "They genuinely think their intel is accurate."
Baishi chuckled coldly. "Danzo... always so cautious, masking truth with falsehoods. But no matter how cunning, you can't escape your fate."
Packing his equipment, Baishi locked onto the nearest marker to Danzo and activated the Flying Thunder God Technique.
The number of people around Danzo was irrelevant. All Baishi needed was for him to be outside Konoha's protective walls.
For all Danzo's schemes, they would ultimately prove futile.
---
On the road leading from Konoha to the Fire Daimyo's court, Danzo traveled alone. His vigilant eyes scanned the forests on either side of the path.
A sharp, blinding light tore through the sky. It swept across the forest, erasing everything in its path.
"Dust Release!?"
Danzo's heart raced as he stared at the ravine that had narrowly missed him. His quick reflexes had saved him from being obliterated into dust particles.
Looking up, he saw the source of the attack: a streak of green light rapidly approaching.
"So, that's what Baishi stole from Iwagakure," Danzo muttered, his face pale.
When Iwagakure had lodged complaints with Konoha about a theft from their secret vaults, they had withheld the exact nature of what had been taken. Danzo's subsequent investigations had yielded no results either.
To think Baishi had made off with Dust Release, Iwagakure's signature technique.
"But how?" Danzo thought, panic settling in. "Dust Release isn't an ordinary technique. Without the Dust Release Bloodline, it's impossible to wield it!"
Realization struck him like a hammer: "Has Baishi... acquired the Dust Release Bloodline too?!"
The thought deepened his dread. Combined with Baishi's mastery over Wood Release, the addition of Dust Release made him an unparalleled threat.
Determined to end this battle, Baishi raised his hands, forming seals. A second beam of white light tore through the air, heading straight for Danzo.
This time, Danzo wasn't fast enough. The attack obliterated half his body, spilling organs and blood across the ground.
Victory seemed assured—yet Baishi's expression remained calm.
Right before the attack struck, he had seen Danzo form a sequence of seals: Ox - Boar - Ram.
Baishi knew those seals well.
Izanagi.
As one of the Uchiha clan's most forbidden techniques, Izanagi allowed its user to rewrite reality, turning fatal blows into illusions while making beneficial events real.
For Danzo, each Sharingan embedded in his arm granted him one minute of invincibility under Izanagi.
True to form, Danzo's dismembered body dissipated like a mirage. A fully healed Danzo reappeared a few meters away, his expression colder than before.
Danzo wasted no time retaliating, forming seals rapidly.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Wave!"
A sharp gust of air shot from his mouth, cutting toward Baishi.
Baishi didn't even flinch.
The attack hit his Chakra Cloak, causing barely a ripple.
Baishi had invested heavily in fortifying the cloak after his last encounter with Kakashi. The added chakra density ensured that attacks like Vacuum Wave couldn't even scratch him.
Now, Baishi was virtually untouchable.
He glanced at Danzo's bandaged right arm and felt a familiar sensation emanating from it—a signature he recognized from the genetically engineered "fishermen."
That confirmed it: Danzo's right arm was still embedded with multiple Sharingan.
"How many Sharingan does he have?" Baishi mused.
With the Uchiha clan still intact, acquiring a large number of Sharingan was no small feat. But Danzo had always found ways to circumvent impossibilities. His current right eye—another Sharingan—was proof enough.
Danzo's expression darkened as his second Wind Style attack failed to penetrate Baishi's defenses.
Gritting his teeth, he bit his thumb, forming seals rapidly.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
A plume of chakra smoke cleared to reveal Danzo's colossal summon: Baku, a massive creature with the head of a tapir, tiger-like limbs, and an elongated, trunk-like nose.
The summoning seemed to bolster Danzo's confidence.
Baku inhaled deeply, creating a powerful suction force that aimed to immobilize Baishi. At the same time, Danzo launched another Vacuum Wave, enhanced by Baku's support.
This time, the force was strong enough to cause ripples across Baishi's chakra cloak.
However, Baishi didn't resist. Instead, he flew toward Baku with deliberate intent.
Danzo furrowed his brow. "What is he doing?"
Baishi's approach didn't mean inaction. While Danzo prepared his next move, Baishi's eyes glinted with purpose.
Two shuriken hovered above Danzo's palm, rapidly spinning as they became imbued with Wind Chakra.
"Wind Style: Shuriken!"
The two shuriken spun at deadly speeds, cutting through the air toward Baishi's neck.
Yet Baishi remained indifferent.
The Wind-infused shuriken struck his Chakra Cloak, creating faint ripples before dissipating harmlessly.
Danzo's confidence faltered.
Baishi finally spoke, his voice calm and unyielding. "You don't understand, Danzo. You've already lost."
