Chapter 81: Chapter 3:Changed Location!?

Yuto walked into his room, shutting the door behind him as his mind replayed the events of the team meeting. His expression was a mix of curiosity and unease. "The Chunin Exams… in the Land of Iron?" he muttered, leaning against the door.

This change threw him off entirely. Unlike the original timeline he remembered, where the exams were held in Konoha and became the stage for Orochimaru and Suna's Invasion, this new arrangement raised several questions.

'Why the Land of Iron?' Yuto thought as he paced the room, his Kamigan scanning through his own memories, piecing together potential reasons for such a significant deviation. The Land of Iron was known for its neutrality and samurai. It was also outside the influence of any shinobi village, making it a curious choice.

"This changes everything. If the exams are held there, Orochimaru's plans—if he even has them—might be completely different. Not to mention the security with leaders like Onoki, Ai, Terumi, and Bee possibly attending," Yuto murmured to himself. He couldn't help but smirk at the thought. "Good luck trying to assassinate Hiruzen in a place surrounded by the world's strongest."

He sat on his bed, the entry form Kakashi had given him clutched in his hand. The neat handwriting at the top confirmed it: "Chunin Exams – Land of Iron." His eyes skimmed over the details, noting the dates and the preliminary rules.

'The Land of Iron is going to be freezing. This isn't just about combat; it'll also test endurance and strategy in harsher conditions. Naruko's stamina will help her there, but Hitomi might have trouble,' he thought, rubbing his chin. His Kamigan flared for a brief moment before returning to its normal green.

Yuto's lips curled into a grin. "This might actually be fun. A whole new battlefield means new challenges… and new opportunities."

But he couldn't let his guard down. The unknown variables bothered him, particularly Orochimaru. 'If he still has his eyes on Sasuke—or in this case, Hitomi—will he risk showing up? And if so, what's his angle now that the venue's changed?'

He leaned back against the wall, staring at the ceiling. "I need to prepare more. Fuinjutsu, summons, and maybe even get Kakashi to show me that blade technique he mentioned." His mind was already buzzing with plans.

His gaze shifted toward the kunai marked with his chakra anchor lying on the desk. "And if Orochimaru does show up… he'll regret it."

Yuto sat back down, his thoughts now shifting to the mission he'd received from the system.

He frowned, tapping the table in front of him as he mulled over the specifics. 'The system gave me this mission assuming I'd fight Gaara during the exams. But now that the location's changed to the Land of Iron, the dynamics might be completely different.'

The thought of facing Gaara, with his immense control over sand and Shukaku's power, wasn't what made him hesitate. It was the circumstances surrounding the fight that concerned him.

"Will I even get the chance to face him in the third round? And if I do… will Gaara release Shukaku with five Kage-level ninjas present?" Yuto muttered, a mix of frustration and intrigue crossing his face.

He thought about the terrifying One-Tailed Beast, remembering its power from the original timeline. 'In the anime, Gaara lost control during the invasion, forcing Naruto to fight him. But now… the Kages won't let something like that go unchecked. If Shukaku surfaces, Ai or Onoki could probably neutralize him in seconds.'

Still, Yuto couldn't dismiss the possibility entirely. 'Gaara might not lose control as easily in this timeline, but that doesn't mean he won't go all out in the matches. If I face him, it'll be up to me to handle it before anyone intervenes.'

The idea of the fight thrilled him in a way. It would be the perfect test of his strength, but he couldn't deny the risks. 'I'll need a strategy to take Gaara down. His sand defense is nearly impenetrable, and his stamina with Shukaku's chakra makes him a monster.'

His Kamigan flared crimson for a brief moment as an idea struck him. "Fuinjutsu. If I can master one of the advanced sealing techniques before the exams, I could create something to counter Shukaku's chakra. And my summons might give me an edge against his sand. The dragonfly's speed or the worm's durability could help me keep Gaara on the defensive if he used his Biju chakra mode like in the Anime."

A confident grin spread across his face. "The system hasn't failed me yet. If it says I'll face Gaara, then that's exactly what's going to happen. I just need to be ready for anything. And if Gaara does release Shukaku, then I'll show everyone—including the Kages—what I'm capable of."

Yuto made 20 shadow clones, each instantly grabbing a fuinjutsu scroll and diving into intense study. Meanwhile, the original Yuto grabbed his jacket, stepping out into the warm sunlight as he muttered, "Time to get some balloons and start learning the Rasengan. One of the most iconic techniques in the Naruto world… it's about time I tried my hand at it."

As Yuto disappeared down the street, the scene shifted elsewhere, to the Hokage's office.

Hiruzen Sarutobi sat behind his desk, his expression unusually serious. His sharp eyes focused on Kakashi and Guy, both standing before him, their usual demeanor replaced with solemn professionalism.

The Third Hokage leaned forward, folding his hands on the desk as he began, "I'm sure you've already realized this, but the Chunin Exams being held in the Land of Iron presents both an opportunity and a risk for Konoha."

Guy tilted his head, his brows furrowing. "Hokage-sama, are you suggesting the risk comes from the other villages?"

Hiruzen nodded gravely. "Precisely. The exams are an arena where we not only showcase the strength of our young ninja but also where the other villages assess our current standing. With the Kyubi attack still fresh in many minds and the Uchiha massacre casting a shadow, the perception of Konoha has weakened. We must correct that."

Kakashi, leaning casually against the wall but with his visible eye sharp, spoke up. "And that's why you only approved Team 7 and Guy's team to participate. You're betting on their strength."

"Correct," Hiruzen confirmed. "The Land of Iron has its traditions, and one of them is ensuring fairness in the finals. That means the possibility of one team from each major village advancing is extremely high. If our Genin make it to the finals, and they perform well, it will reaffirm Konoha's position as a strong and capable village."

Guy crossed his arms, his face unusually serious. "So, you're confident that Team 7 and my team will represent us well?"

Hiruzen allowed a small smile to break through his stern expression. "I have no doubt. Team 7, with Kakashi's guidance, possesses unparalleled potential, and your team's synergy and strength are second to none. I expect both of your teams to shine in these exams."

The Hokage's tone shifted slightly, becoming more commanding. "But that is only part of the reason I've called you here. As you know, the exams will draw attention not just from the five major villages, but from mercenaries and rogue elements as well. Some may see the gathering as an opportunity to sow chaos or seek vengeance."

Kakashi's eye narrowed. "You're expecting trouble."

Hiruzen nodded gravely. "Which is why you both will serve as my bodyguards during the Chunin Exams. The Kages of the other villages will bring their strongest ninja, not just to flaunt their strength but to ensure their safety. The presence of Ai, Onoki, Rasa, the new Mizukage Mei Terumi, and others means this will be a gathering of power unseen in years. I will need you both to ensure I remain unbothered should any… complications arise."

Guy's eyes flared with determination. "Hokage-sama, you can count on me! My flames of youth will ensure your safety!"

Kakashi, in contrast, nodded coolly. "Understood. What about our teams during the exam?"

Hiruzen smiled slightly. "They will be fine. This is a test of their abilities, after all. Kakashi, you've trained Team 7 well. And Guy, your team has grown stronger under your care. I have full confidence they will make it to the finals."

The Hokage's gaze grew sharper. "The second reason for all of this is to send a message. Despite the setbacks we've endured—the Kyubi attack, the Uchiha massacre—we are still strong. Konoha is still the strongest village in the shinobi world, and we will show that to everyone present."

Both Kakashi and Guy exchanged glances before nodding. Hiruzen's resolve was clear, and the weight of his expectations hung in the room like a heavy fog.

Kakashi pushed off the wall. "We'll make sure Konoha's strength is known to all, Hokage-sama."

Guy added with his signature enthusiasm, "We'll burn so brightly with the flames of youth that no one will dare to question Konoha's power!"

Hiruzen allowed himself a chuckle at Guy's fervor, but his mind remained focused. 'This Chunin Exam is more than just a test for the Genin. It's a stage for Konoha to prove its resilience to the entire world.'

The scene shifted back to Yuto, who now stood in a small shop, holding a bunch of balloons with a smirk. "Time to take the first step toward the Rasengan."
