Aoda smirked and added, "But you were so close. What happened? You used to brag about your original shrouding technique being able to fool anyone or how you used that technique to follow Kurenai," he chuckled at the end.

Ebisu shook his head. "I don't know, man. Maybe I got excited seeing her, or maybe my technique is not that good. I would rather not find out. I almost died. Kushina-sama is really scary."

Genma sighed. "Forget the bet. It was fun seeing your ass get handled. From now on, brag about your technique or any of your conquests only once you've fooled Kushina-sama."

As the trio left, Ebisu heard Kuma commenting, "She took him out in one kick, that too without any enhancement or shinobi equipment. That was even faster than my expectations, haha."

As he seethed, Ebisu muttered, "That damn red-headed hot bitch...curse log, I can't even curse her. I will show you all."

With that, he too left the area.

On reaching the meeting room, Kushina found a trio of genins along with Ryoichi-san already there. After greetings, she took a seat. Ryoichi came forward and placed a document folder in front of her. "Kushina-sama, we checked all the documents related to costs borne by Hot Springs Village. We couldn't find much except these. They, too, don't contain much about how they spent their budget. These are mainly other expenses that they have charged us for, like shinobis breaking properties in brawls or using their services and failing to pay."

Kushina nodded. "I know, and I don't think we will find much in there. I just wanted to check. As for the additional charges, they would have mentioned shinobi names that caused losses. I want you to list down regular offenders."

At this, Haihuen spoke up, "Who would be marked as a regular offender, Kushina-sama?"

"Anyone whose name appears twice a year in the past four years."

As her charges nodded, she continued, "Ryoichi-san, I want you to go to Jonin Commander Shikaku Nara-san and get the privileges and list of activities that our shinobis use in Hot Springs. If he asks for clearances, ask him to prepare the documents. I will personally collect them from him." She quickly took out a scroll, wrote a quick message, signed, and sealed it. Handing Ryoichi the scroll, she added, "Ask him to read this scroll in front of you as you deliver the message."

As Ryoichi left, leaving the genins temporarily under her direct charge, Kushina looked at the three while they squirmed under her gaze. She smirked, "So how goes cleanup work? I hope you're doing it properly without maligning it with your talks."

Shinsuke was the first one to speak, "We are sorry, Kushina-sama. It wasn't our motive—"

Kushina cut him off, glaring. "Cut the crap. I have dealt with perverts worse than you. So this will only be a warning. Next time, you will be thrown out of the Archives Department and shifted to the Ronin Department."

The trio shuddered at the name of the said department. It was said to be the worst department to work for if you were lower-ranked. Usually, the bottom of the pass-outs from the academy who didn't quit the shinobi program were sent there. It was either that or dropping out of the shinobi program. The worst thing was that civilians and low-level shinobi inmates were also thrown there. The jobs given to them were either menial D-rank tasks or dangerous ones, like scoping out traps by literally moving through the area. Usually, shinobis were punished for insubordination by being assigned to this.

The three shouted in unison, "We are sorry, Kushina-sama! We shall not repeat it."

Kushina nodded. "Good. Now that's out of the way, let's get onto the next task. I want a copy of our agreements with the Hot Springs Country in the past four years. Since each agreement is at least amended once a year, I want to see how many times and what changes were made. The latest agreement only gives a brief summary of the changes."

The trio nodded, and Kushina continued, "Good. I will also come. Lead the way. I will be there shortly."

The trio led by Haihuen made their way to the Archives library. There was another thing Kushina wanted to do: she wanted to make a fuinjutsu-based indexing of the entire archives. This system would allow anyone with control of the index to access the entire library. Of course, it would have security measures, but for now, it was a personal pet project. Another benefit of indexing was that she would be able to access required information quickly. Rising from her seat, she began her journey to the archives library.

Ryoichi, after leaving the meeting room, quickly made his way to the Shinobi Corps office. As he moved toward the Jonin Commander's office, he noticed various shinobis scattered throughout the area, busy dilly-dallying with their tasks. He couldn't help but feel jealous of them for working there. Upon reaching the office, he discovered the Jonin Commander was absent. After asking around, he finally got his location from an ill-looking shinobi named Hayate.

Following the directions, Ryoichi arrived at the roof of the Shinobi Corps building, where he found Nara Shikaku lying on the ground, hands folded behind his head, staring at the sky. Ryoichi sweatdropped at the sight. Tales of the Jonin Commander's legendary laziness flashed through his mind, but seeing it firsthand was something else.

Breaking the silence, Ryoichi began, "Nara-sama." Receiving no response, he repeated, "Nara-sama, I have a message for you from Kushina-sama."

Hearing Kushina's name, Shikaku broke his gaze from the sky and tilted his head toward Ryoichi, still not standing up. After a moment of judgment, he finally spoke, "Troublesome. So, what's the message?"

Ryoichi quickly conveyed the message, and Shikaku listened attentively. Once he was finished, Shikaku groaned and, still lying down, massaged his head with one hand. "Troublesome. Tell her it will be done."
