Chapter 11: Naruto: Of bone and ice: Chapter 8(2)
"Was that Yuki's power?" He asked, standing above me, his massive frame eclipsing mine.
"Who are you?" I asked, raising my head to meet his gaze.
"My name is Tachi Kaguya." Looking closer at the man, I realized that there was not a single mark on him. He moved his massive hand so that I could see it, and a large bone began to protrude from his skin. He held it there for a moment before letting it slide back into his skin. I couldn't help but be surprised, and he smiled before speaking.
"I was the only member of Kaguya with Shikotsumyaku. Until I heard rumors of a boy in Kiri Academy who had the same ability. Not only do you possess our clan's powerful Kekkei Genkai, but you also possess the Yuki clan's Ice Release. This is unheard of. Tell me, boy, what was your mother's name?"
His face was a little contorted as he spoke, and I could tell he was not quite right in the head.
"Her name is Kachina Yuki," I said without even blinking. Tachi turned around and started laughing, his laughter getting louder before he stopped and looked into the distance.
"Ten Finger Drill Bullets!" He shouted as he raised both his hands, ten bullet-shaped bones shot out from each of his fingers and tore the three-man squad of hidden leaf shinobi to shreds. Tachi must have been in his thirties by now, giving him plenty of time to master his abilities. I bet he knew how to do things I couldn't even think of, the other mist ninja quickly stood up from the surprise attack.
"Damn, they found us!" The man said as he surveyed the surrounding area.
"Hidden Mist Jutsu!" The woman shouted, making hand signs. Suddenly, a mist rose around us, and the two of them rushed towards the trees. I looked at Tachi, and he looked at me:
"After you, boy." He said, waving his hand. I didn't hesitate, taking a chance with him was probably better than taking on the small army of the Hidden Leaf.
We jumped through the trees for a good hour, trying to cover as much distance as possible. If Konoha shinobi teams were still looking for us, it was probably best not to stop at all. However, I was starting to feel the effects of the previous battle, I had used up a lot of chakra and my small body was exhausted. I was starting to fall behind and the others could see it. "Come on, kid, keep up the pace!" A man shouted, stopping on a thick branch. I was trying to catch my breath. I felt like I was about to pass out and I went down on one knee.
"We need to stop and rest." The kunoichi said. "He's just a kid." She also added: Tachi was silent, but the look he gave the man said it all. F-fine, we'll set up camp there for now, but only until he's ready to move again." I looked down and saw a small clearing with a stream running through it.
I thought I had drunk enough water to fill a bathtub, I sat on my knees and washed the blood off my face while looking at my reflection, it was a sad fact that killing was such a small thing in this world, I had never killed anyone before I was reborn here and now I had killed too many to even bother counting. The others were also resting, except for Tachi who was simply sitting cross-legged on a large rock. It made me wonder if he was the only member of his clan with a Kekki Genkai. Did that mean it was a dormant gene that only awakened in a very few, or was it meant to be passed on to those who already had the Kekkei Genkai? Questions for later, I thought as I lay on my back and looked up at the sky. The sun was already setting and the last rays of sunlight were breaking through the leaves of the trees. It had been a hell of a day and I couldn't seem to fight the fatigue anymore as my body gave way to sleep and my eyes closed.
"Wake up! Wake up damn it!" A voice said as its owner shook my body. I was sleeping so soundly that I didn't notice the ambush. The Hidden Leaf was attacking from all sides. There were at least fifteen Shinobi, I looked to my left and saw Tachi fighting five of them, the female in our group was on the ground screaming as her arm was cut off. "We have to get there." His words were cut off as two Kunai hit him in the head, his blood sprayed into my face as his body hit the ground hard. That was it, I stood up and was on guard. Rolling back to my feet I created an ice dome around myself for protection, from inside I could see the enemy ninjas moving and some even attacked my defense. I made some hand signs and the ice around me cracked, impaling everyone that was near me. Even with my powers, I couldn't see behind me, and two Kunai hit me in the back, but they didn't do any damage since I had already put up my defense. There were six people around me, all but one were wearing the standard Konoha flak jacket, the last one was wearing a gray Anbu jacket and his face was covered by a mask. I guess I should keep an eye on him.
"Watch out! That kid is a monster." One of the shinobi said. "I've seen him kill dozens of our men in battle, he's no ordinary ninja." He also added. Meanwhile, Tachi was fighting five other Anbu members. His skills were incredible as his abilities made him untouchable. They had already assessed his abilities and decided to get some distance and attack with ninjutsu, Tachi knocked one of them out with his bone bullets as they broke through the Anbu's defense, breaking his sword and tearing his body apart. The others realized they couldn't block the attack and dodged instead.
"Sir, there are only two left, this one and the child who is surrounded." One of them said. The other did not even look at him. "They will both die." He said.
"Now!" One of the Anbu shouted and started making hand signs. Two other Anbu quickly rushed behind Tachi and started making their own signs. The two in front released a massive fire jutsu, and the two in the back released a wind jutsu. They combined the wind and fire to create an even more powerful effect. Tachi was caught in the attack, and from where I stood, it looked like it was all over.
But I had my own problems. If these guys saw any more of my jutsu, they would come up with a way to counter this. No one had made a move yet, and the tension was starting to build. If I wanted to get out of here alive, I had to come up with something, and fast. Then it hit me, I wasn't sure if this would work, but I was running out of options. "Hidden Jutsu, Ice Clones!" I shouted, making hand signals. Two of my clones formed out of ice and assumed a fighting stance. The two clones charged into battle as I quickly made an ice mirror and slid into it.
"Don't let him escape in that jutsu!" A member of the six Anbu shouted. My clones were easily destroyed, but that was my plan, as soon as they made contact with the enemy, I made a hand sign with one hand and boom. Both clones exploded, sending ice spikes flying in all directions. Two of the six were dealt fatal blows, and the rest managed to recover, however, the distraction allowed me to form other crystal ice mirrors around the other members. They were confused and stood back to back, weapons at the ready.
"What the hell is this guy?!" One of them shouted. "He's one of those ice demons!" One of the shinobi said, fear evident in his voice.
I cut them off mid-sentence. "Ice Mirror Crystal Jutsu. This is the end for you." I had practiced this jutsu and was amazed at its power. When Haku used it in the anime, I quickly realized how much he was hiding from Naruto and Sasuke.
