Naruto: Playing Minecraft In Konoha

Chapter 109: Chapter 109: A Handful of Lime

Clatter, clatter—

As the last ball fell, it signaled that Tsunade had lost her very last coin.

She clutched her head with both hands, overwhelmed with despair.

Not willing to give up, she shook the pachinko machine and smacked it hard, shouting at the top of her lungs.

"Damn it!"

"This damn casino must be rigged!!"

"Shizune… lend me some more money!"

Hearing this, Shizune planted her hands on her hips, puffing up angrily.

"Lady Tsunade!"

"We've already lost every last penny!"

"If we don't head back to the village now, we'll end up sleeping on the streets!"

Tsunade chuckled awkwardly, brushing off Shizune's worries.

Even losing her savings from years of gambling didn't faze her...

After all…

Jiraiya had promised her that once she took up the position of Hokage, money wouldn't be an issue anymore.

While the daimyo's funding might be limited, what could a small village possibly need to spend money on? Surely, by year's end, there'd be plenty of surplus, right?

"Forget it. Let's go find Jiraiya," Tsunade sighed as she stood up, leading Shizune out of the casino.

---

The two had barely stepped onto the street when they spotted a certain blonde brat standing by a roast duck shop, holding Tonton in his arms, drooling at the sight of the revolving spit inside.

"Tonton, how about we try the carousel this time?" Naruto asked with a sly grin.

"Last time, you refused to get on it no matter how hard I tried. Why not give it a shot today?"

Naruto's gaze lingered on the golden-brown ducks spinning inside the shop, the tantalizing aroma making his mouth water. He couldn't help but imagine how Tonton might smell if cooked the same way.

"Oink oink!!"

Tonton, staring at the crispy, golden ducks, froze in horror.

Its piggy instincts screamed in alarm—it understood Naruto's devilish suggestion all too well.

Panicking, Tonton squirmed desperately in Naruto's arms, terrified of being tossed into the oven.

Meanwhile, Shizune snapped. Without a word, she rolled up her sleeve and launched three tranquilizer needles at Naruto's back.

Thud, thud, thud!

The needles struck him squarely, but Naruto simply scratched at the spot, feeling a slight itch, before turning his attention back to the roast ducks.

Shizune stared, utterly defeated.

When she'd first used tranquilizer needles on him, they'd worked fine! Why did nothing affect him now?

"U-ZU-MA-KI NA-RU-TO!"

Tsunade marched over with a furious expression and smacked him on the head.

"Ow!" Naruto turned around, rubbing his head, his face innocent. "Lost all your money again, huh?"

Tsunade's eye twitched in irritation. She hadn't even used her full strength, and yet this brat barely flinched.

If it had been any other kid, they'd have a massive lump on their head by now.

Fine... she thought bitterly, deciding to pin her frustration on Jiraiya instead.

"Naruto! I told you to look after Tonton!" she scolded. "Were you planning to eat her?!"

Shizune quickly snatched Tonton from his arms, soothing the trembling pig.

Naruto shrugged, whistling nonchalantly, pretending not to hear.

If Tsunade wasn't his mother's cousin, he wouldn't have bothered giving this "old hag" any face at all.

Tsunade exhaled deeply, closing her eyes and gently massaging her temples.

Stay calm... don't get mad...

Wrinkles, don't let this brat give you wrinkles!

"Where's your master?" she asked through gritted teeth.

"Over there," Naruto pointed casually.

They turned to see Jiraiya, bandaged from head to toe, lying on a floating door plank, binoculars in hand, giggling to himself as he peeked at something in the distance.

"JI-RAI-YA!!"

With a roar, Tsunade vanished in a blur, reappearing next to him. She swung her leg with monstrous strength, aiming straight for his head.

Hearing her voice, Jiraiya turned instinctively—just in time to take the full force of the kick.

With a resounding thud, everything went black as he was sent flying.

"Forget him! Let's head back on our own!" Tsunade huffed, storming off with Shizune in tow.

She couldn't shake the nagging feeling that agreeing to become the Fifth Hokage was a colossal mistake.

Naruto glanced between Tsunade's retreating figure and the unconscious Jiraiya. After some thought, he decided to check on his master.

After all, he was genuinely worried that Jiraiya might end up dying—not at the hands of Pain, but because of Tsunade's beatings.

Picking up the battered sage, Naruto discreetly poured a recovery potion into his mouth before placing him back on the door plank.

"Guess I'll follow them for now," he muttered, pushing the door along.

---

Half a day later, after a month-long journey, they finally returned to Konoha.

"Lady Tsunade has returned!"

The guards at the village gate lit up with joy upon seeing her, though their expressions soured the moment they spotted the pair behind her.

Still, seeing Jiraiya's heavily bandaged state, they felt reassured—clearly, Tsunade knew how to handle these two troublemakers.

"Lady Tsunade, please come with me," an ANBU operative said, appearing at the gate.

It wasn't eagerness but desperation driving him—any longer without leadership, and the village might collapse.

The current stand-in Hokage had fainted a few days ago during a dispute over compensations, and was now recovering at the Root base, his chakra in turmoil.

Konoha was in shambles, its treasury in a deep deficit.

Tsunade nodded, following the ANBU operative, with Shizune trailing behind.

As for the two troublemakers...

Jiraiya wandered off to gather "research material," while Naruto went to find Hinata.

---

Naruto hadn't been back long when he encountered a black-robed figure waiting for him.

"What are you doing here?" Naruto frowned, recognizing Sasuke.

"Danzo's eye..." Sasuke said in a low voice. "Do you know what's going on with it?"

Naruto blinked in confusion.

What the hell? Did Danzo hit Sasuke with Kotoamatsukami or something? But wasn't Danzo supposed to be in the hospital?

"Did he take off his bandages in front of you?" Naruto asked.

"Yes," Sasuke replied. After a pause, he added, "But... I didn't get a good look—I threw a handful of lime in his face."

Naruto: …

What?!

This guy actually dared to throw lime at Danzo, the Danzo?!

Naruto gawked at Sasuke in disbelief.

This madman wasn't afraid of Kotoamatsukami at all!

Quickly, Naruto activated a teleportation seal, pulling Sasuke into a safe space to get the full story.

Sasuke then recounted everything that had happened while Naruto was away:

That day, Danzo had summoned him to the Hokage's office for a village meeting. After intimidating the villagers into silence, Sasuke had stabbed his giant sword into the ground, daring anyone to challenge him.

Later, in private, Danzo had unwrapped his bandages, revealing his Sharingan.

And then...

Before the Sharingan could fully open, Sasuke, acting on pure instinct, flung lime powder at Danzo's face.

Naruto: …

Absolutely insane.
