Chapter 111: Chapter 111: Shisui of the Body Flicker

Upon fully understanding the ability of Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, Mirai finally found the most fitting description for it:

A life simulator!

This genjutsu creates an illusory world where one can experience lives based on different choices. Unlike a standard simulator, however, the illusionary world conjured by Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto is entirely constructed upon the caster's understanding of reality.

Take Uchiha Fugaku as an example.

If Fugaku subconsciously believed that overusing the Mangekyō Sharingan inevitably led to blindness, then the "Uchiha Mirai" created in the illusion would likewise lose his sight from excessive use of the Mangekyō's power.

"No wonder Fugaku is so stubborn about his choices. He must have simulated countless lives with Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, exploring every possible outcome," Mirai murmured.

But Fugaku didn't know the truth about Mirai's secrets. Naturally, the simulated results bore little resemblance to reality.

In fact…

It was highly likely that Fugaku mistook the illusions of Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto for glimpses into the future. That would explain his obsessive convictions.

Another quirk of Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto was that time within the illusion had no connection to reality. No matter how many years were simulated, only an instant would pass in the real world. However, the longer the simulation, the more it drained the caster's ocular power.

Having pieced together the intricacies of the ability, Mirai nodded in satisfaction.

Compared to Tsukuyomi, Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto was far more potent. When used strategically, its potential was staggering.

A week passed swiftly.

As Mirai anticipated, after his show of strength, Hiruzen Sarutobi made no overt moves. It was as if nothing had happened, even though Mirai had publicly humiliated Sarutobi multiple times.

This unexpected development bolstered the confidence of the Uchiha clan. Their respect and reverence for Mirai only deepened, for never before, in the history of Konoha, had they stood so tall against the Hokage's faction.

Of course, not everyone within the clan agreed with Mirai's approach. Some members visited him, urging reconciliation with Sarutobi and his allies. They argued that the Uchiha only sought to claim their rightful place and had already achieved significant progress. To press further might risk everything.

These individuals even suggested releasing Fugaku from captivity to stabilize the clan and prevent internal strife.

Some went as far as secretly accusing Mirai of going too far.

Mirai listened silently, making no comments. Instead, he quietly jotted down their names in a brand-new notebook.

...

Morning.

Shisui arrived alone at a secluded training ground within the Uchiha district.

After waiting for some time, Mirai finally appeared.

The moment he saw Mirai, Shisui straightened up and greeted respectfully, "Mirai-sensei!"

"Shisui, how long have you been here?"

"Not long, Mirai-sensei," Shisui replied with a gentle smile.

"I called you here because there's something I need you to handle. But first, I must see if you're capable of it."

Shisui's expression grew serious. "Understood. Mirai-sensei, I will do my best to prove my worth."

"Your best?" Mirai chuckled. "Shisui, fight me as if you intend to kill me. Otherwise, you won't even touch the hem of my cloak."

Hearing this, Shisui's eyes blazed with determination. The commanding presence exuded by Mirai—a disdain for all beneath him—fascinated Shisui deeply. If possible, he wanted to become a shinobi like Mirai.

"Here I come!"

With a sharp shout, Shisui unleashed a flurry of shuriken. The spinning blades clashed mid-air, altering their trajectories to strike at Mirai from every blind spot.

In the next moment, Shisui formed hand seals. "Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

A massive fireball engulfed Mirai.

Shisui followed up by drawing his blade and swinging it toward his rear.

Clang!

A metallic clash rang out as Mirai's attack was deflected.

Seeing the three tomoe swirling in Shisui's crimson eyes, Mirai smirked.

"The Three-Tomoe Sharingan? Not bad."

Shisui said nothing, focusing instead on forming another series of hand seals. Illusory clones began to materialize around Mirai, each one indistinguishable from the original.

The clones attacked in unison, their strikes solid and precise, as though they were real.

Amid the flurry of blows, Shisui's Sharingan glinted, attempting to manipulate Mirai's consciousness.

Eventually, Shisui managed to drive his blade into Mirai's chest—only for Mirai to disperse into a flock of crows. The birds swirled through the air and reformed a short distance away.

"That's enough, Shisui," Mirai declared, raising a hand.

"Your Body Flicker Technique combined with the Sharingan is impressive. From this day forward, I bestow upon you the title Shisui of the Body Flicker."

Shisui's heart swelled with pride. Sheathing his blade, he suppressed his excitement and bowed.

"Thank you, Mirai-sensei!"

Being recognized by Mirai was an honor in itself, but to receive such a title… Shisui could hardly contain his joy. It was a distinction unparalleled within the Uchiha clan.

The other members would be green with envy when they found out.

Just then, Shisui's vision blurred, and the scene around him began to shift.

Mirai had vanished, leaving behind a pristine notebook on the ground.

Shisui's heart sank. As a master of genjutsu himself, he realized immediately what had happened.

He had been under Mirai's illusion from the very beginning. The intense battle was nothing more than a performance he had acted out alone.

"As expected of Mirai-sensei…" Shisui murmured with a bitter smile, bending down to pick up the notebook.

The first page contained a single sentence:

"Shisui, eliminate everyone on this list."
