Chapter 237: Chapter 236 : Kaguya in Danger!!

"Adam." The chances of him being in danger are high.

Uchiha Sogetsu gently pressed his fingers to his forehead, a look of frustration on his face as he couldn't help but sigh softly.

Back then, in order to create 'Adam,' he had cut a small portion of his spiritual energy and fused it into a Virtual Persona, giving it some of the 'Manipulator's' power. This took a tremendous amount of time and effort, yet he never expected it to fail so quickly.

However, in the end, Adam's death wasn't without its value; it was almost a gain.

Who would have thought that such a small world, like the ninja world, would harbor so many hidden powers?

First, there were signs of the Mother Goddess of Depravity, and now, the "Chaos Sea" and the "Blasphemy Slate" had appeared.

He couldn't help but wonder what other 'surprises' might be in store for him.

Wait, could it be that a 'True Creator' might emerge?

He carefully recalled—he shouldn't have, possibly didn't, maybe—angered the True Creator, right?

Just thinking about it made Uchiha Sogetsu feel uneasy. His eyelid twitched uncontrollably, and he instinctively wiped the sweat from his forehead.

He then lightly tapped his chest in a clockwise motion, drawing a crimson moon with his fingers and silently praying in his heart, "Goddess, protect me, protect me! I never mocked you, I swear!"

It didn't matter if it worked or not; at least it couldn't hurt to send a prayer to the Goddess.

"Yeah, I'm sure everything will be fine."

Uchiha Sogetsu wiped away the sweat and reassured himself. "We're all from the same hometown, there's no reason to favor one over the other. Besides, I'm a devout believer of the Goddess."

Meanwhile, at the edge of the black crack in the Pure Land:

The Sage of the Six Paths stared into the abyss, his brow furrowing. From his initial calm, he gradually became more anxious.

The black mist within the deep abyss was churning and rising, as if something was about to emerge from within, causing him great unease.

The Rinnegan was the highest form of the Sharingan, originating from the God Tree. Only by consuming the God Tree's fruit or merging with the tree could one gain its great power.

This power contained the divine chakra of the Otsutsuki clan, making it one of the Sage of the Six Paths' greatest supports.

However, the once mighty Rinnegan now seemed to have lost its effect.

The thick black mist swirling in the abyss blocked the view of the Rinnegan, preventing him from seeing what was happening below.

"We can't wait any longer. We have to act now!"

Staring at the black mist still rising, the unknown fear filling his heart, the Sage of the Six Paths made up his mind: "I'm sorry, I cannot let that thing out!"

As he spoke, the black Truthseeker Orbs flew into his hand, transforming into a solid black staff.

The moment he grasped the staff, the Sage of the Six Paths' eyes slightly narrowed. From the swirling pattern of his Rinnegan, a surge of powerful chakra erupted.

His pure white robe moved as if blown by the wind, and black crescent shapes appeared on his collar and back. His aura, once weak and decayed, suddenly became strong, profound, and limitless.

"In the name of Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo, I seal it!"

With a heavy strike, the black staff hit the air. Using Yin-Yang Release as the core, the Sage of the Six Paths formed a sealing formation above the abyss.

The torn Pure Land space was 'mended.'

The abyss, which carried ominous, strange, and terrifying power, along with the mysterious 'Adam,' was once again completely sealed.

After resealing the 'abyss,' a hint of fatigue appeared between the Sage of the Six Paths' brows.

Even as a 'Six Paths level' being, sealing such a strange abyss was a burden greater than sealing his mother, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.

"I'm sorry, I hope you won't hate me."

The Sage of the Six Paths lowered his eyes and silently sighed for a few seconds, his expression sorrowful and filled with pity. "The Pure Land is tied to the cycle of reincarnation. I cannot let them be placed in danger."

"It's fine, no need to apologize."

Suddenly, at that moment, a familiar voice sounded from behind him.

A slender, pale hand with distinct knuckles rested on his shoulder. The Sage of the Six Paths, who had been silently mourning, was suddenly startled and shivered. His heart nearly stopped as he swung the Truthseeker Orb-turned-staff behind him.

Clang!

The staff was easily blocked by a single finger, stopping just half an inch in front of the person.

When the Sage of the Six Paths turned around, his face immediately twisted in horror. He was so shocked that he didn't even sit cross-legged. He fell to the ground in fright, unable to hold onto the staff.

Staring wide-eyed with all three of his eyes, he fixated on the person before him. "Y-You... you... you're not supposed to be beneath the abyss?!"

The man had golden curly short hair and a light golden short beard, exuding an elegant and gentle aura. It was none other than the mysterious 'Adam,' who had entered the abyss some time ago and had not been seen since.

"When did you come out?"

The Sage of the Six Paths looked at him in disbelief, his face filled with confusion. "I clearly sealed the abyss!"

"Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about," Adam said indifferently, looking at him with a soft smile on his lips. "In some ways, the 'Adam' you know isn't the same 'individual' as me, even though we share the same name."

"Is it like a 'clone' or something similar?"

The Sage of Six Paths furrowed his brows. Although he didn't fully understand the concept, he found a close analogy.

"Though your understanding is a bit off, let's go with your idea," Adam replied, waving his hand dismissively. Then, he smiled lightly and asked, "Would you mind talking to me about your past with the former one?"

The seemingly polite request carried an underlying authority that made it hard to refuse.

The Sage of Six Paths fell silent for a moment, staring at the 'Adam' who had reappeared. Compared to the previous one, this version exuded a much stronger pressure.

The former one to this one was like a small stream compared to an ocean. After brief contemplation, he chose to follow his instincts and shared the entire story, sparing no details.

After hearing the full account, Adam made a few guesses in his mind.

"I see," he said flatly. "In that case, just guard the Pure Land."

"Wait, Adam!" The Sage of Six Paths called out as Adam began to leave, quickly asking, "Can you tell me, what exactly is down there?"

"No."

Adam's eyes shimmered with a faint golden hue, and he shook his head. "Put away your curiosity. It's best not to explore what's beneath. Sometimes, not knowing is a form of protection."

Upon hearing this, the Sage of Six Paths fell silent, his eyes flashing with an unknown fire. "According to my agreement with him... no, with you, you still owe me an answer to one question."

"Go ahead."

Adam smiled faintly. "Since it's a promise, I'll keep it."

"What exactly is your purpose?" The Sage of Six Paths asked solemnly. "Will it pose a threat to the Ninja World?"

"Heh, that's two questions, isn't it?" Adam gazed at him with interest, a slight smile at the corner of his lips. "But it's fine. I'll answer you. I won't threaten the Ninja World, and as for my purpose... it doesn't concern you much. In fact, whether you're involved or not doesn't matter."

In a way, his appearance wouldn't pose a threat to the ninja world. As for the latter part of that statement... well, it was just a lie to deceive him.

The Sage of the Six Paths didn't know this, but he thought that since 'Adam' was a god, he surely wouldn't lie to him. So, he sighed in relief. "Thank you for your understanding, Mr. Adam. On behalf of all the people in the ninja world, I express my gratitude."

"Don't be in a hurry to thank me, I still have one more thing to say."

However, Adam smiled and waved his hand, speaking with deep meaning. "I won't pose a threat to the ninja world, but..."

Nothing is scarier than a "but." The Sage of the Six Paths immediately tensed up, his heart racing as he anxiously looked at Adam. "Mr. Adam..."

"But... your mother might not be as safe."

Adam let out a light laugh, raising his hand and pointing upward. "Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, your mother's in trouble."

Sage of the Six Paths: "???"
