Naruto : Sequence 0 Visionary

Chapter 240: Chapter 239 : Following the Trend of the Times!!

Otsutsuki Hagoromo gave a serious warning, which undoubtedly rang a mental alarm in everyone's hearts.

Even Orochimaru, who was usually the most curious, felt a sense of fear. This was the first time in his life he had ever felt fear from the 'unknown.'

Although there were no detailed descriptions, and the words were vague, everyone could sense, deep within their souls, a tremor. In their minds, a blood-red full moon appeared, casting a strange, eerie light.

The blood-red moonlight was obscured by a layer of black mist, making it appear unclear.

Whispers, almost imperceptible, silently entered their minds, washing over their subconscious, slowly infiltrating their deeper spiritual selves.

This process was slow and very secretive, occurring on an extraordinary level of mental intrusion.

If it were any other type of Beyonder, perhaps even an "Angel" (those of Sequence 2–1), they wouldn't have detected it.

Sitting at the top, Uchiha Sogetsu's eyes gleamed with a faint golden light as he observed the entire 'corruption' process through Spirit Vision.

Of course, all of this had happened with his approval.

Otherwise, even a being of extremely high status, such as an Great Old One, would never be able to corrupt mere mortals with just a vague description.

The reason he allowed this was to observe the 'corruption' process and see if there was a way to prevent it.

As he watched the affected individuals, he fell into thought: "It's very subtle. Though the rank is high, the degree of corruption isn't severe. As long as preventive measures are taken in advance, the 'Spectator' can avoid the corruption. Even if they are accidentally affected, they can later use another Virtual Persona to self-check and seal it."

Once the basic tests were completed, he lightly tapped his fingers.

Boom!

At that moment, the brass oil lamps on each seat flared up with intense flames.

In an instant, the people who had been mesmerized by the 'red moon' suddenly woke up, drenched in cold sweat, their faces showing fear.

"What just happened?"

Orochimaru's pupils shrank, cold sweat dripping down his face. "I think I just saw a moon?"

"Me too," White Fang said, his voice slightly hoarse with lingering fear.

"I think I saw it too," Konan said, her face pale, filled with dread.

"I... I saw the red moon," Uchiha Mikoto said, her reaction more intense. She gasped for breath, holding her uncontrollably opening Mangekyō Sharingan, and exclaimed in horror, "And on the moon, it seemed like there was something—"

"Shut up! Don't say any more!"

Otsutsuki Hagoromo gripped his staff and struck the ground with a heavy blow, the sound like thunder crashing.

Uchiha Mikoto was startled awake, drenched in sweat. This time, she truly felt it—an eerie, inexplicable whisper and call, as if it came from deep within her bloodline.

"I deeply apologize, Mr. Adam."

Otsutsuki Hagoromo raised his head and looked toward the seat of honor, then bowed his head in apology. "Please forgive my rudeness earlier. It was only because the situation was too dangerous, and I couldn't help but intervene to stop 'Moon' from continuing."

"It's no matter."

Uchiha Sogetsu smiled faintly, his fingers lazily tapping the table. "You did the right thing. No need to apologize."

"What's happening to me?" Uchiha Mikoto gasped, her fear growing. "Why do I feel like I'm losing control?"

"Because you are a descendant of my bloodline."

Otsutsuki Hagoromo sighed bitterly. "The Otsutsuki clan is a cursed bloodline. Your body carries the Otsutsuki blood, though it's now quite diluted. Still, you are more susceptible to the moon's influence, and more easily 'corrupted' than anyone else."

"Corrupted?" Orochimaru sharply seized on the word.

"Yes, 'corrupted'."

Otsutsuki Hagoromo nodded. His brow furrowed as he continued. "From what I understand, beings like Mr. Adam and the entities on the 'Moon' have incredibly high 'positions.' Their words and actions, even the smallest movement, convey information and knowledge that is a disaster for us."

"It's like lower life forms coming into contact with higher-level powers. They cannot resist the force, and everything that follows is detrimental."

"Things like madness, physical mutations, or collapsing after directly seeing higher-level forms," he added.

The group exchanged uneasy glances. It was hard to fully grasp, but a sense of terror lingered in the air.

"Don't think I'm just making empty threats," Otsutsuki Hagoromo's eyes scanned the room, his voice deepening. "Do you know why Mr. Adam hides his true form? It's simple—he's doing it to protect you. If Mr. Adam were to reveal his true form, we would all likely go mad and collapse because our brains cannot comprehend his existence."

"This is not about good or evil. It's simply that we are too low on the hierarchy to understand the form of higher life."

"It's just like how you wouldn't care about the thoughts of dust mites. Even if you think you're releasing goodwill, it might actually be a disaster for a whole group of mites."

"So, be thankful."

"Be thankful that you met Mr. 'Adam' and genuinely appreciate the fact that such a high-level being would rarely, but surprisingly, show goodwill to a group of 'mites.'"

Yes, exactly! That's how it should be said!

Although Uchiha Sogetsu appeared calm on the outside, inside, he was overjoyed.

If he had said these words, it might have had some effect, but it would never have been as impactful as when the Sage of Six Paths said them to them.

Clearly, when the others looked at him, there was now a hint of fear in their eyes.

Who would have thought? The usually gentle Mr. 'Adam' turned out to be such a terrifying existence.

Then there was Orochimaru, who was now sweating coldly, relieved that his little thoughts had only earned him a small warning.

It was pure luck that he wasn't killed. Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, Orochimaru reaffirmed his beliefs.

Uchiha Sogetsu had subtly used Otsutsuki Hagoromo's words to subtly scold everyone.

Then, seeing the mixed respect and fear in their eyes, he knew it was time. Excessive fear would backfire.

A carrot and a stick is the best method of training.

With that thought, Uchiha Sogetsu turned his gaze to Orochimaru and White Fang, slowly speaking, "I want to make a deal with you. Would you be willing?"

"Of course!"

"It's an honor, Mr. Adam."

Though they didn't know what the deal was, since it was proposed by 'Adam' himself, both Orochimaru and White Fang nodded without hesitation.

"Very well."

Uchiha Sogetsu nodded slightly, then continued, "While the Twilight Hermit Order values secrecy and rarely interferes with the course of history, this time, your encounter with the 'Aurora Order' made me realize that the tide of time has already changed. It's time for me to follow the trend as well."

The crowd fell silent, waiting for the words of the person in the seat of honor.

Uchiha Sogetsu slightly straightened up. His towering figure exuded an invisible pressure, causing everyone present to lower their heads in respect.

"Among the five 'Pathways' I have mastered, you may each choose a potion from one of these 'Pathways' to officially ascend to the rank of 'Beyonder.'"

At these words, the entire room was stunned!
