Naruto: Starting with Snatching the Mangekyō Sharingan

Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Surprise Attack

"It's about time," Nagato muttered under his breath, shrouded in the cover of night. His gaze shifted to White Zetsu, emerging from the ground, and his voice turned stern. "Inform the Raikage and Tsuchikage. The moment to strike Konoha has come."

...

Early the next morning

In the Raikage's office, the Fourth Raikage, Ay, stared at the scroll on his desk with a stormy expression.

Despite reinforcing security, the Akatsuki had effortlessly infiltrated the heavily guarded stronghold.

Unrolling the scroll, Ay let out a long breath and looked toward his blonde-haired secretary.

"Are our forces prepared?"

Since forming an alliance with the Akatsuki and Iwagakure, they had meticulously divided responsibilities. Kumogakure would make the first move, crushing Konoha's border defenses, allowing Iwagakure to launch a direct assault on Konoha itself.

The Akatsuki, splitting their forces, would coordinate with Iwagakure under Uchiha Hikaru's lead and with Kumogakure under Nagato's command. The objective: dismantle Konoha entirely and eradicate its remaining strength.

"Yes, Raikage-sama. Our forces have been in a constant state of readiness since the start of this war. We can move at a moment's notice," the secretary replied solemnly.

Kumogakure's war preparations had been a continuous effort since the conflict began, masking their large-scale mobilizations under the guise of routine. This strategy had allowed them to evade Konoha's surveillance.

"Good. Then depart at full speed. Bee and I will move ahead to crush Konoha's border defenses. Have the rest of the troops follow as quickly as possible."

As soon as Ay finished speaking, the glass wall of his office shattered with a resounding crash. Without waiting another moment, he leaped through the broken window, a testament to his impatience.

"Honestly, Raikage-sama…" His secretary sighed, a wry smile on her face as she gazed at the shattered glass.

...

Meanwhile, in the Tsuchikage's office

Onoki, the Third Tsuchikage, studied the scroll on his desk with a grim expression.

"The Akatsuki decided to start things off with a bang," he muttered, unrolling the scroll and scanning its contents carefully. After a long moment, he gave a nearly imperceptible nod and turned to face Kitsuchi, who stood silently nearby. "Keep an eye on the situation between Konoha and Kumogakure. Notify me immediately of any developments."

"Yes, Father," Kitsuchi replied respectfully.

"And ensure our forces are prepared. Konoha doesn't have someone like the Yellow Flash to save them this time," Onoki sneered.

"Our troops are already prepared. Both Roshi and Han are ready to move," Kitsuchi reported.

"Good. It seems Roshi finally knows his place. If not, I wouldn't hesitate to replace the Four-Tails' jinchūriki," Onoki said coldly.

...

The following day

At the border between Konoha and the Land of Hot Water, the two villages' forces were locked in a tense standoff.

Nearly 3,000 shinobi from each side had been stationed here, engaging in sporadic skirmishes over the past two months without a full-scale battle breaking out.

Recently, Jiraiya—one of Konoha's key commanders—had been distracted by Orochimaru's betrayal, but Kumogakure hadn't capitalized on the situation, thanks to the arrival of Akimichi Torifu, who had taken over command.

Outwardly, Jiraiya seemed to have recovered from the emotional blow and resumed his leadership duties.

...

Konoha's Command Tent

"When will this war finally end?" Jiraiya muttered, staring at the map sprawled across the table, his face clouded with worry.

Before he could think further, hurried footsteps approached. A Hyūga branch family jōnin, tasked with monitoring Kumogakure's movements, entered the tent, his expression filled with urgency.

"Jiraiya-sama, bad news! Kumogakure's reinforcements have arrived. They're powerful shinobi, and…" His voice faltered as terror and panic overcame him. "The reinforcements are led by the Fourth Raikage and two of their jinchūriki!"

"What?!" Jiraiya's face turned pale. The news couldn't have come at a worse time.

Wasting no time, he dashed out of the tent to organize an evacuation.

Meanwhile, Akimichi Torifu was already ahead of him, commanding Konoha's forces to prepare for defense and retreat. Clad in armor and wielding a massive staff, Torifu nodded grimly at Jiraiya.

"Jiraiya, no hesitation—enter Sage Mode immediately!"

"I understand, Torifu-sama," Jiraiya replied without delay. He summoned the two Great Sage Toads from Mount Myōboku and began gathering senjutsu chakra.

As Jiraiya meditated, war cries erupted from all directions. Kumogakure's shinobi surged forward like a tidal wave, overwhelming Konoha's defenses.

At the forefront, Ay, the Fourth Raikage, moved with the speed of lightning, tearing through Konoha's forces. His devastating blows left a trail of destruction in his wake.

Behind him, Killer Bee wielded his Eight Swords Style, effortlessly dispatching anyone who dared to stand in his path, leaving blood and chaos in his wake.

"This is bad!" Torifu's expression darkened as he rushed to the frontlines.

Jiraiya, sensing the urgency, abandoned his attempt at entering Sage Mode and shouted:

"Summoning Jutsu!"

With a loud boom, Gamabunta appeared amidst a billowing cloud of white smoke, a massive blade strapped to his side and a pipe clenched between his lips.

"Gamabunta, I need time. Help me hold them off!" Jiraiya pleaded.

"Hmph, the Raikage and an Eight-Tails jinchūriki, huh? Don't expect miracles," Gamabunta grumbled, sensing the formidable chakra ahead.

Jiraiya clasped his hands together once more, resuming his efforts to enter Sage Mode.

On the battlefield, Torifu faced the advancing duo of the Raikage and Killer Bee. He was immediately outmatched. Speed was never his strength, and within moments, he had already sustained multiple injuries.

"Torifu Akimichi, huh?" Ay sneered. "I heard you put up quite the fight against the Gold and Silver Brothers, but now? You're nothing special."

"With my big brother here, even the Gold and Silver Brothers wouldn't stand a chance!" Killer Bee chimed in, his tone uncharacteristically serious.

"Focus, Bee! End this quickly," Ay snapped.

"Yes, big bro!" Bee's demeanor shifted. Crimson chakra surged around him, forming a tailed beast cloak as eight tails lashed behind him.
