Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Returning to the Village

"Lady Tsunade… Do you think Naruto and the others can really find her?" TenTen asked, leaping through the treetops, her chin resting on one hand.

"Don't worry about that," Kirito reassured her from behind. "Given the village's current situation, and considering her connection to it, Tsunade will undoubtedly return with them."

TenTen nodded but remained contemplative. They had spent days exploring and experimenting during their trip, but the return felt different—focused, almost urgent. Upon hearing that Tsunade, the legendary Sannin, might soon lead the village, she found herself both excited and impatient.

"I wonder what she looks like now," TenTen mused aloud. "She must still be really beautiful."

"She is," Kirito replied with a calm certainty. "More importantly, she's someone who can unite people."

"Unite people?" TenTen blinked in confusion. "What kind of description is that?"

"It's all that matters."

TenTen sighed, deciding it wasn't worth arguing. Her thoughts quickly shifted to her admiration for Tsunade, a powerful kunoichi who inspired her deeply.

After crossing the forest and hills, they finally arrived at the gates of Konoha Village.

"We're back!" TenTen cheered, stretching her arms and wiping sweat from her brow.

[Even though the trip's goal was completed, something feels anticlimactic,] Kirito thought to himself as he stared at the familiar gates.

TenTen eagerly approached the guards, asking about Tsunade. When they confirmed that neither she nor Naruto had returned yet, her anticipation heightened.

"So we beat them back after all," TenTen remarked with a mix of relief and disappointment.

"Don't worry. They'll likely return in a day or two," Kirito reassured her.

The pair headed straight to Konoha Hospital, where they found Might Guy visiting Rock Lee.

"Oh! You've returned from your youthful journey!" Guy greeted them enthusiastically. "Did you achieve your goals?"

"Of course!" TenTen declared proudly. "I mastered a new move!"

"Me too," Kirito added, demonstrating his latest ability by letting his hand glow crimson with heat.

"Is this… another Kekkei Genkai?" Guy stared at Kirito's molten palm in amazement. "You truly are a prodigy."

As TenTen and Kirito recounted their trip, Rock Lee sat quietly, his mood dimming. Seeing his teammates grow so much while he was bedridden left him feeling left behind.

Sensing his dismay, TenTen stepped forward. "Don't worry, Lee. Lady Tsunade will return soon, and she'll heal you completely."

"You've got your own path to walk," Kirito added. "There's no need to compare yourself to anyone else. We're teammates. We'll grow together."

Moved by their encouragement, Lee straightened up, tears welling in his eyes.

"You're right!" he declared. "I'll come back stronger than ever!"

"Well said, Lee!" Guy shouted, also tearing up.

"Guy-sensei!"

The two embraced in a dramatic display of mutual inspiration, prompting TenTen and Kirito to quietly step away.

"They're too much sometimes," TenTen muttered, shaking her head.

Kirito chuckled. "Let them have their moment."

As they walked down the hospital corridor, they passed Sasuke's ward. Kirito paused, glancing through the open door.

Inside, Sakura was arranging fresh flowers on the bedside table while Sasuke lay unconscious.

"Sasuke's still out from his encounter with Itachi," Kirito remarked.

TenTen peeked inside and noticed Sakura's quiet dedication. "She really cares about him," she said softly.

"She does," Kirito replied. Watching Sakura's devotion reminded him of the original timeline, where her loyalty to Sasuke endured through countless trials.

Without saying more, Kirito turned and continued walking, leaving Sakura undisturbed.

That evening, at Konoha's training grounds, Kirito stood next to a massive boulder he had raised using Earth Release.

TenTen faced the rock with determination, unfurling her scroll. This was the ultimate test of her new jutsu.

Taking a deep breath, she activated the technique. "Summoning Technique: High-Pressure Water Cannon!"

A roaring jet of water burst forth, drilling into the boulder. The concentrated force shattered the rock into pieces, sending debris flying. The water cannon continued forward, mowing down trees in its path before finally dissipating.

"Success!" TenTen cheered, surveying the destruction with pride.

"Congratulations," Kirito said with a small smile. "Now you're ready to take on someone like Temari again."

TenTen beamed, putting her scroll away. Then, she reached into her pouch and pulled out a kunai.

"This is for you," she said, handing it to Kirito.

The kunai was ordinary, but it was clearly well cared for. A small bow was tied to its grip, giving it a personal touch.

"This was my first kunai," TenTen explained, her cheeks slightly flushed. "I thought a lot about how to thank you for teaching me the 'Elemental Gate,' and I decided this would be the best gift."

Kirito held the kunai with reverence. "Thank you. I'll treasure it."

"Next time, we'll head out together to find more elements," TenTen said with a grin.

"Looking forward to it."

As TenTen walked away, Kirito glanced at the kunai once more before storing it securely in his personal dimension.
