Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Showdown at the Mine

Kirito had noticed Ryusuke sneaking out of the curry shop long before he left.

Out of caution, he chose to observe for a while. When it became clear that Ryusuke intended to leave alone, Kirito made his move.

"I thought we agreed to go to the mine tomorrow," Kirito said calmly as he appeared behind the startled man. His presence carried a silent pressure that made Ryusuke lower his head, unable to meet Kirito's gaze.

"What's going on?" Tenten and the others, awakened by the commotion, stepped outside to see what was happening.

"Ryusuke, why are you trying to do this alone?" one of the other clients asked, stepping forward. "If you go now, you won't save anyone—you'll just end up in Raiga Kurosuki's hands."

At the mention of Raiga Kurosuki, the leader of the Black Spade family, Ryusuke's resolve cracked. Tears streamed down his face as he broke down. "Kanpachi is still alive! I know he is! If I go now, there's still time to save him!" he cried. "I can't stop thinking about him, buried alive in the dark. I can't calm down while he's suffering!"

Moved by his despair, Tenten turned to the others. "What happened to this Kanpachi?"

One of the clients explained grimly, "Raiga Kurosuki buries his enemies alive as part of his twisted rituals. He holds mock funerals, sealing his victims in coffins and burying them in the earth."

"That's awful," Tenten gasped, horrified.

Rock Lee clenched his fists, his face dark with anger. He couldn't help but think of Kazu, Granny Sancho's grandson. If Kazu had joined the Black Spade family, did that mean he had also been involved in such atrocities?

"That's it!" Naruto shouted, his fists trembling with anger. "We're not waiting until morning. Let's take down the Black Spade family now!"

Kirito regarded them thoughtfully. "You'll need to stay rested if we leave immediately," he said. "Are you sure you're up for this?"

Rock Lee and Naruto answered in unison, "There's no way we can sleep after hearing that!"

"Alright then," Kirito said simply. "Let's go."

In the early morning light, the group arrived at the sorrel gold mine. From their vantage point on the cliffs, they could see the oppressed villagers working under the lash of the Black Spade family's enforcers. Men in black robes patrolled the site, urging the miners on with whips.

"Those men in black must be the Black Spade family," Rock Lee noted.

Kirito gave a curt nod. "We go in directly. Lee, if you find Kazu, notify us immediately and extract him. I'll handle the rest."

"Understood!" Rock Lee said, determination shining in his eyes.

"Perfect! Let's take them down!" Naruto declared, leaping into action.

Naruto struck first, taking down a guard with a flying kick. Kirito followed swiftly, embedding two men in black into the surrounding rock walls with effortless kicks. Meanwhile, Tenten wielded her three-section staff with precision, and Rock Lee fought with boundless energy. Within moments, the guards near the mine entrance were subdued.

The frightened villagers fled into the caves, fearful of both the Black Spade family and the Konoha ninja who had so easily dispatched them.

"They're coming," Kirito said suddenly.

More men in black robes appeared, surrounding the group. Their demeanor was more confident, their presence more formidable.

"Where's your boss, Raiga Kurosuki?" Naruto demanded, undeterred by their numbers.

One of the men sneered. "You'll meet him soon enough—at your funeral."

Kirito's eyes remained fixed on the distant mountain peak. "He's up there."

"Then we'll finish these guys and head straight for him!" Naruto shouted, cracking his knuckles.

"Lee, do you see Kazu?" Kirito asked.

Rock Lee cupped his hands around his mouth and called out, "Kazu! Stop working with the Black Spade family and come back! Granny Sancho is worried about you!"

A hooded figure among the men in black hesitated. "I... I can't…" he began.

Before he could finish, Rock Lee rushed forward and knocked him into the air. "I'll save you myself!" he shouted.

Kirito moved swiftly. The frost crept over the battlefield as he unleashed his Ice Release, freezing the remaining men in black into crystalline statues.

Naruto stared in awe. "Amazing…"

Kazu, now trembling, dropped to his knees. "Don't kill me!" he cried.

"Lee, handle him. Raiga Kurosuki is trying to escape," Kirito said, turning his gaze back to the mountain.

Atop the mountain, Raiga Kurosuki, leader of the Black Spade family, gripped his Thunder Sword tightly. "Who are these people?" he muttered, fear creeping into his voice.

"Run, Raiga!" Ranmaru, his companion, pleaded. The boy's red eyes—capable of seeing through everything—had shown him Kirito's overwhelming power.

Raiga Kurosuki hesitated. He knew there was no place for him outside the mine, yet Ranmaru's warning chilled him to the core. He took a deep breath, summoning his courage. "No. We fight."

Performing hand seals, Raiga Kurosuki cast his Hiding in Mist Jutsu, blanketing the mountain in thick fog. Using the cover, he prepared his ultimate attack: summoning lightning from the storm clouds above with his Thunder Sword.

"Something's interfering with our perception," Naruto said, struggling to see through the fog.

Kirito stood unfazed. "It's the boy," he said, his Byakugan cutting through the mist.

Ranmaru cried out in pain as Kirito disrupted his ability. "Raiga Kurosuki, they've found us!" he screamed.

Kirito acted instantly, shattering the mist into ice crystals that rained down like snow. The battlefield was laid bare, and Raiga Kurosuki stood exposed.

Without hesitation, Kirito lunged forward, knocking Raiga Kurosuki aside with a powerful kick. Grabbing Ranmaru by the collar, he pulled the boy away and held him securely.

"Let him go!" Raiga Kurosuki roared, clutching his chest as he staggered to his feet. Holding his Thunder Sword aloft, he called down lightning from the storm clouds. "If you hurt him, I'll destroy you!"

Kirito smirked. "Your sword controls lightning? Let's see if it can handle mine."

Golden lightning crackled in his palm, forming into a glowing javelin. The energy radiated with blinding intensity, illuminating the entire mountaintop like the sun.

"What is that?" Raiga Kurosuki asked, his voice trembling.

Kirito answered calmly, "I call it the Sun Spear."

Raiga Kurosuki bellowed, "No matter what it is, nothing can match my Thunder Sword!"

Summoning all his power, Raiga Kurosuki unleashed a massive bolt of lightning. At the same moment, Kirito hurled the Sun Spear with precision.

The mountain erupted in a blinding explosion of light and sound. The sheer force of the collision obliterated everything on the summit, leaving behind a massive crater.

When the dust settled, Naruto and Tenten emerged from behind a protective barrier Kirito had created. They stared in shock at the destruction.

"What… what just happened?" Naruto stammered, surveying the scene. The entire mountaintop and Raiga Kurosuki's mansion had been reduced to rubble.

"Another one of Kirito's insane techniques," Tenten said, rolling her eyes. "Is this a new ability?"

Kirito nodded. "It's my newest Kekkei Genkai—'Sun Release.' Or, if you prefer, you can call it Light Release."
