Chapter 214: The War Draws to an End
**Haneda's Side**
*Cough, cough…*
After using the Flying Thunder God Technique to escape, Haneda transported himself to the border of the Land of Grass.
Blood dripped from his mouth as he coughed, alarming Haku and Kimimaro.
"Haneda-sama!"
Haku and Kimimaro rushed to his side, helping him sit down on a chair.
Haneda wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and reassured them, "I'm fine. I just need to rest for a bit."
"Haneda-sama, if it hurts too much, you can bite me." Karin's mother extended her arm toward him.
Haneda glanced at the offered arm and chuckled helplessly. "There's no need for that. I'll be fine."
Seeing that Haneda had closed his eyes to rest, Haku and the others quietly dispersed to avoid disturbing him.
As he leaned back in the chair, Haneda began reflecting on the battle.
According to his original plan, he could have fought for an entire morning without issue. But an unexpected problem arose with the storage medium for his chakra—the *star*.
While the star made stored chakra easier to control, its radiation also introduced significant drawbacks. Normally, his Sage Body could easily withstand low levels of radiation, but in large quantities—especially after exhausting his ocular powers—it posed a danger to his body.
The strain caused his Sage Body to overload, resulting in internal injuries. Thankfully, his Sage Body could rapidly repair itself. With just an hour or two of rest, he would fully recover.
Haneda considered switching to a different medium, but the thought of acquiring the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan made him hesitate.
After all, with the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, his ocular power would greatly increase, and the recovery rate of his chakra would also skyrocket. At that point, the drawbacks of the star's radiation might become negligible.
"Mangekyō… Shisui, Itachi…" Haneda muttered, calculating the timeline.
He knew that Danzo, upon learning of his bold actions, would accelerate his plans. And within Danzo's schemes lay Haneda's opportunity to acquire the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

**The Iwagakure Camp**
Before the collapse of the golden Buddha statue, Deidara—who had secretly left the village—couldn't help but cheer with excitement.
"Art! Art!!"
"No… true art is fleeting! Art is meant to explode!"
Deidara felt a pang of regret watching the golden Buddha be destroyed by the efforts of Ōnoki and the others.
However, he soon noticed something strange—the Iwa-nin seemed chaotic, far from their usual discipline.
Risking capture, Deidara hid under the rubble of a building and observed the central gathering of Iwa-nin.
To his shock, he discovered that Ōnoki was dead.
"But that person's 'art'… wasn't it defeated?"
Suddenly, Deidara chuckled to himself.
"The old man's willingness to sacrifice himself for art… I'll remember that."
Despite his rebellious tendencies, Deidara's dedication to his artistic ideals remained steadfast. Without Ōnoki's authority looming over him, he felt a newfound sense of freedom, especially as he soared on his clay bird, feeling the rush of the wind.
Uncertain of where to go, he instinctively set his sights on Haneda.
As the artist who defeated his master, Haneda might hold the secrets to even greater forms of art. The golden, radiant Buddha had left a deep impression on him.
"It was so cool!" Deidara exclaimed as he flew off in pursuit of his new inspiration.

**Outside the Iwa Camp**
After confirming that Ōnoki had been killed by Haneda and that Haneda had safely left, Kakashi led his team back to their base.
It was clear that Iwagakure would soon surrender and negotiate a peace treaty with Konoha. This marked the impending end of the two-year-long war between the two nations.
Kakashi couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia.
Two years ago, he had personally requested to be assigned as commander in the Land of Grass, both at the Third Hokage's order and due to his own motivations.
On one hand, he wanted to distract himself from the pain of losing close friends. On the other, he sought personal vengeance.
Ōnoki had not only killed Kakashi's father but was also indirectly responsible for Obito's presumed death. Revenge had always been on his mind.
Yet, it was Haneda who ultimately avenged him, doing so with unmatched confidence and flair.
More than that, Haneda had mastered the Flying Thunder God Technique—a skill that had eluded him for years. Kakashi couldn't help but feel proud of his younger comrade's growth.
Returning to Konoha's front-line base in the Land of Grass, Kakashi found Nara Shikaku busy organizing the withdrawal efforts.
When Shikaku noticed Kakashi's early return, he approached with a puzzled expression.
"Kakashi-sama, weren't you preparing to intercept Ōnoki's assault team? Why are you back so soon?"
Kakashi smiled faintly and replied, "The Iwagakure command center was attacked by Haneda. Ōnoki was killed in front of his men, and at least a hundred Iwa-nin were slain."
Shikaku's eyes widened in disbelief. "What?! Did you say Ōnoki was killed by Haneda? Publicly?!"
Kakashi nodded. "That's right. With Haneda's help, this war will soon come to an end. We can finally return home."
The two men exchanged a relieved smile.
For Kakashi, it meant returning to look after Naruto—a responsibility he had neglected during the war.
For Shikaku, it meant reuniting with his wife and family. Despite his reputation as being henpecked, Shikaku always held his home close to his heart.

**Elsewhere**
After eliminating all the Root ninjas, Obito returned to the Land of Water to maintain control over the Fourth Mizukage.
Deep within the Mist Village's underground chambers, Black Zetsu couldn't hold back its observation.
"Haneda's power continues to grow."
"With Susanoo, Wood Release, Ice Release, the Flying Thunder God Technique, and Sage Mode… his strength is unparalleled in the shinobi world."
"Obito, if you continue to ignore him, the Moon's Eye Plan—"
"I already said, I have my own plans," Obito interrupted coldly.
Hearing the finality in Obito's tone, Black Zetsu sighed and retreated, aware that Obito would not turn against Haneda outright.
"Then why not recruit him? Your relationship with him might sway him to our side," Black Zetsu suggested.
"I said he deserves to live under the sunlight," Obito snapped.
Realizing Obito's resolve, Black Zetsu left to contemplate contingency plans. It knew that Haneda's growing strength posed a potential threat to its centuries-long schemes.
Black Zetsu was determined not to let anything jeopardize the Moon's Eye Plan. After all, it had been preparing for this moment for hundreds of years.
