Naruto: Wood-Wood Fruit

Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Anbu Struggle

"Captain!"

The situation was spiraling out of control.

It seemed like the entire Anbu team was on the verge of annihilation.

Yamato, standing nearby, was shocked by Kiyoshi's command over the Wood Release.

However, he quickly shouted a warning.

"Don't worry about the captured team members. Wood Release is constantly draining their chakra, we must take down the caster directly."

Fortunately, Kiyoshi had shown some mercy, not treating them as mortal enemies.

There was no need to worry about the lives of the captured Anbu members. Although rescued, they had been drained of chakra and had lost most of their fighting strength.

With that in mind, the priority was clear—focus on dealing with Kiyoshi.

After all, if the entire Anbu unit were to be so easily wiped out by a kid, their reputation would be ruined.

Yes, Kiyoshi was a prodigy who had awakened the Wood Release.

But he was very young and had much less fighting experience than them.

This fact was something both Yamato and Kakashi found hard to accept.

"Alright!"

"Zzz… zzz..."

Sparks of lightning danced in Kakashi's palm.

Without needing Yamato's reminder, the ever-strategic Kakashi had already resolved to act.

His Sharingan locked onto Kiyoshi.

In a flash, he dashed forward, shouting, "Raikiri."

"Boom! Boom!"

Massive tree branches rushed toward him.

But Kakashi's lightning blade tore through them effortlessly, slicing them apart as he moved forward.

"Go, Captain. Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!"

Meanwhile—

An unrestrained Anbu member seized the opportunity.

Before the approaching tree vines could ensnare him, he swiftly formed hand seals.

"Whoosh—"

In an instant—

A fierce windstorm barreled forward.

"Boom! Boom!"

It swept through and uprooted countless trees, tearing them apart as it shot towards Kiyoshi.

The terrifying wind pressure carved a massive trench through the dense forest.

"Swish..."

In a heartbeat—

A towering tree sprang up in front of Kiyoshi.

It shielded him from the oncoming wind blast.

"Wind Style: Wind Cutter Jutsu!"

Another Anbu member, evading the creeping vines, saw an opportunity.

He leapt high, ignoring the encroaching branches from all directions.

Risking his defenses, he moved his hands like lightning, releasing a powerful breath forward.

"Shwoo—"

A massive blade of wind sliced out.

It was razor-sharp, cutting through the air.

The huge trees winding toward him were severed with each slice.

"Earth Style: Mud Wall."

Two remaining Anbu members made hand seals in unison.

Pressing their hands to the ground—

"Rumble..."

Massive earth walls rose up on either side of the trench.

The walls blocked the relentless assault of the tree vines coming their way.

The Anbu squad's well-trained teamwork shone through.

They all worked to clear a path for Kakashi.

"Boom!"

"Wood Style: Four Pillar Prison Jutsu!"

Yamato's hands moved in a flurry of seals.

He summoned massive vines, forming a cage around himself.

Using this technique, intended to trap enemies, he protected himself from the invading tree vines.

But he knew it wouldn't hold for long.

Within moments, the vines began to crack as massive tree roots battered the wooden cage.

Seizing the brief respite—

He didn't stop forming seals and slammed his hands onto the ground once again.

"Wood Style: Tree Wall Barrier!"

"Swish… swish..."

Huge branches emerged from the earth, intertwining to form a solid barrier from the ground to the towering earth walls.

This sealed the trench and reinforced their defenses.

Though the strength of the roots and vines was overwhelming, the barriers managed to hold them off, if only temporarily.

But it was enough to buy Kakashi a precious moment.

"Zzz..."

In a flash—

Kakashi surged forward, lightning-imbued, cutting through the obstacles.

"Kiyoshi, watch out!"

Yugao, the only Anbu member still conscious, saw what was happening and couldn't hide her concern. She called out a warning.

"Zzz..."

But in a moment—

Kakashi had already broken through the defenses.

His Raikiri, an S-Rank Jutsu of his own creation, crackled with killing intent as he lunged toward the seemingly shocked and frozen Kiyoshi.

"Forgive me." Kakashi's gaze was steely, his right hand thrusting forward to avoid a lethal blow.

"Shhh—"

With unstoppable force—

He pierced Kiyoshi's shoulder.

But there was no blood.

"So, this is your jutsu…Raikiri?"

Despite the wound on his shoulder, Kiyoshi looked completely unbothered, his tone calm. "It's got some potential, I'll give you that."

He grabbed Kakashi's wrist with one hand.

Vines erupted from the ground, instantly binding Kakashi, who realized too late that he was caught.

Meanwhile—

"Swish... Swish…"

Massive vines surged from all directions.

They quickly snared Yamato and the other Anbu members, lifting them into the air.

They couldn't break free.

At this point—

The entire Anbu squad was defeated.

"What?"

On the battlefield—

Every Anbu member was stunned.

They stared in disbelief at Kiyoshi, who stood unaffected despite having been struck by Raikiri.

Even Kakashi's eyes widened, unable to believe it.

He knew he hadn't injured flesh, what he hit seemed almost like a Wood Clone, yet it hadn't disappeared.

Even a Wood Clone should vanish under such damage.

"Surprised?"

At that moment—

An identical figure emerged from a tree behind "Kiyoshi."

He smiled at Kakashi's stunned face. "Don't compare my Wood Clones to others."

"Your jutsu is good, but you lack finesse."

Kiyoshi patted Kakashi on the shoulder, evaluating him with a smirk.

"..." Kakashi.

"..." The Anbu members.

This guy—

He was powerful.

But insufferably smug.

"Not satisfied?"

Seeing Kakashi's silence, Kiyoshi's lips curved into a smirk.

He raised his right hand and waggled his fingers.

"Watch closely and let me teach you…how to really use Raikiri."

"Zzz..."

In the next moment—

The piercing, nerve-wracking sound of birds chirping filled the air.

The bound Anbu members, including Kakashi, all turned pale with shock.

Their eyes widened, as if they'd seen a ghost.

They watched as Kiyoshi's right hand transformed, each finger becoming a green vine.

Each vine tip crackled with blinding lightning—

Exactly like Kakashi's Raikiri.

"What?"
