Marian took the clothes from Anis but didn't immediately put them on. Instead, she gently sniffed them first.

"Why does it smell... a little bit... bad?"

"What? It doesn't stink at all!"

Anis's face turned bright red as she quickly defended herself, biting her teeth in embarrassment. "Marian, hurry up and put it on! If you keep saying my clothes stink, you won't get any snacks in the future!"

"Snacks~"

Marian seemed to only understand the word "snacks."

A happy smile appeared on her innocent face, and she obediently put on Anis's jacket.

Marian took a sip of the coffee, and her whole face immediately dropped.

Seeing Marian's face twist with the bitterness, tears almost falling from her eyes, Rapi couldn't help but laugh slightly. "Marian, that's because you want to try everything. Next time, try to be a lady, okay?"

"Okay, Teacher Rapi."

She agreed with her mouth, but after a brief pause, Marian quietly sneaked over to the fridge. She carefully opened the door and began looking through the bottles and cans.

After some time, she picked out a bottle of grape-flavored soda, popped the cap with a pfft, and immediately started drinking it.

"Glug glug glug~ So delicious!"

"Marian, you're sneaking drinks again. Anis is going to be mad at you."

"Anis will drink it later anyway, so I'll have it now!"

"What kind of logic is that..."

Rapi tried to advise her, but didn't stop Marian from drinking.

Unlike humans, Nikkes don't have the same limitations when it comes to drinks. As long as their bodies aren't damaged, they can evaporate the excess liquid through their internal circulation system.

"Commander, you're too lenient with Anis and the others."

Rapi shook her head. Although Green had always been generous, as long as he could meet a request, he would provide it to the Nikkes in the Counters Squad, but this kind of indulgence could lead to dependence.

Rapi couldn't bear to think about what would happen if Green disappeared one day. Without him, Anis and Neon might go berserk. Ark might force them to be scrapped or have their memories erased.

Rapi's expression hardened. "Commander, what do you mean?"

Green said, "Rapi, think about it from another perspective. If you were a high-ranking member of the Ark government, with deep connections and power, and then a commander with a not-so-high rank suddenly appeared in front of you, and in his squad, there happened to be a special Nikke. If you could dissect and study that Nikke, it could advance Ark's Nikke technology by a century. Heck, even taking back the surface wouldn't be an impossible dream. Now, what would you do?"

Rapi remained silent for a moment before answering, "I would stop at nothing to seize her."

Green nodded. "Exactly. Though it's frustrating, I have to admit that right now, it's hard for me to compete with those politicians who have such deep roots."

"After all, the only ones I can trust are the Nikke, while they have a whole human army." Explaining, Green raised his finger, "If they send humans to seize Marian, as Nikke, you won't be able to fire at humans because of NIMPH, and we would probably just have to watch as they take Marian away."

"Commander, what should we do?"

Rapi's face showed difficulty. Although she was known for her calmness, as a Nikke, what could she do in this situation?

Green put down his cup, his eyes showing a sharp glint. "We still have time. Now is the time to gather more supplies and ammunition. We need to set up defensive lines at the Outpost base and prepare for any confrontation."

Green chuckled, "There's a saying: 'Strike first, so you don't have to endure endless blows.'"

Green, unlike other simple teen, had a wide sense of crisis. He might have ranks in Ark but he knows politics better than others.

"Even if one day we really have to send Marian away..." Green shook his head before he glared blankly at the sealing, "I will make those who covet her pay a blood price. With my own hands, I'll make sure they're wiped out, not leaving a single one behind."
