Omniscience in Marvel

Chapter 141: Omniscience in Marvel 137

Title - Ego

...

Sometime around the beginning of creation, a Celestial seed evolved in the depths of space. A large, disembodied brain matter that grew conscious and learned how to use the immense power at his disposal.

Telekinesis, Energy manipulation, and Biological Manipulation.

Using this power, he formed a small planetary body around himself which was teeming with life and beauty.

Countless millennia of solitude passed and he grew curious to see if there was other life in the cosmos aside from himself, and so, he created for himself a humanoid avatar form with which he used to explore the universe.

Eventually, this Celestial did find life, but was quickly disappointed at how unimpressive they all were, and how much his power and influence dwarfed them.

This inspired this Celestial to devote his life to a goal he called "The Expansion", using seeds from himself on planets with life, and using his Celestial power to grow those seeds into grand biomass that would engulf the planets until he was the only life left in the universe.

Along with the seeds, this Celestial began mating with hundreds of species on dozens of planets in the hope of siring a child who would possess his Celestial genes and help him with his plan, since the Expansion was so vast it would require the power of at least two Celestials.

Throughout this time, this Celestial developed a jovial, laid-back, and friendly personality; he became more narcissistic, and was quick to become callous and aggressive when provoked.

With his Humanoid avatar, he formed an alliance with a Ravager to retrieve his offspring and bring them to his planet, paying him a hefty sum in Credits and promising he wouldn't hurt them.

But none of his offspring carried the Celestial genes, and so this Celestial killed them and disposed of their bodies in caverns of his planet.

Around this time, this Celestial traveled to Earth where, after seeding the planet, he met and fell madly in love with the excitable and sweet human Meredith Quill.

"I don't understand why I am seeing this." Lucas, or Leucadius in his true form, asked the Archangels in front of him, and other than the angel in the lead, the rest were on one knee with their heads bent low.

At the moment, Leucadius was in the Astral plane in his astral form so his full might and presence was being radiated as he sat there leisurely, and other than Hala who was already used to it, the rest couldn't even gaze at his face.

"Whose idea was it to send you..?" Leucadius sighed and asked, seeing as Halaliel had no intentions of replying to him.

Halaliel hesitated for a brief moment, feeling the weight of the question before then straightened, her wings unfurling slightly as she prepared to speak.

Despite the close relationship she shared with Leucadius, she maintained the decorum expected of her station.

"It was Aspect who sent me, my Lord," Halaliel began, her voice respectful. "The Holy Spirit saw fit to have me bring this to your knowledge, considering that Yeshua is currently occupied with the affairs of Heaven. The Expansion of this Celestial, his folly, and his audacious claim to supremacy over life itself, these are matters that tread dangerously close to our domain should he succeed."

She paused, her eyes meeting his with a rare directness, though still tempered with the reverence she held for him. "Aspect believes it necessary for you to be aware of these events, to consider what actions, if any, might be required to maintain the balance you have so carefully wrought."

Leucadius sighed deeply, leaning back as he absorbed her words. He knew that this Celestial was Ego who had already seeded the planet and was now living the life of his life with the human woman Meredith.

He'd felt him approach Earth and could still feel its True Body hidden in-between folded Spatial doors outside the planet. Leucadius hadn't interfered since the little kid that's about to be born in a few months would end up putting an end to his own father, but now that it has been brought to his attention, he couldn't just ignore it.

"Hmm…" Leucadius hummed thoughtfully for a long while before sighing. "I'll take care of it. You all can return to whatever it is you were doing...And Hala..?"

"My Lord."

"Reduce the rate at which you mingle with Hela and Peggy…" Leucadius said and left the Astral plane before she could react. Whether she listened or not wasn't his problem, but he was sure to prevent her from interfering in anything that'll affect the timeline.

"Are you okay, Sir?" Leucadius, who had just opened his eyes from, heard and turned to the black american man in the driver's seat.

Putting up a friendly smile, Leucadius replied. "You have nothing to worry about Nicholas. How far are we from the destination?"

"We're here sir." the man replied, and only then did Leucadius notice that the car wasn't moving.

"Ah. I must have been lost in my own head." Leucadius said and looked out the window where a single house stood in what looked like a private owned field.

'He was able to get himself this land without arousing any form of suspicion…' Leucadius thought to himself as he scanned the 1 kilometer radius around him and picked up on two and a half human signatures. 'The baby is 6 months due…'

"Stay in the car." Leucadius said and left the car and walked towards the house with a slow and confident gait, his steps soundless against the gravel path leading to the front door.

The house itself appeared cozy yet unassuming, a single-story structure with weathered wooden panels.

'At least his tastes are nice in human standards.' Leucadius or Lucas currently, thought.

As Leucadius reached the wooden porch and paused for a moment, taking in the serene surroundings before he raised his hand and knocked—three measured, deliberate taps that resonated through the wooden frame.

Leucadius stood there calmly, his expression neutral, as he awaited the moment Ego would open the door.

The encounter ahead would set in motion a series of events that, while seemingly small, could have profound implications on him as it'd been close to a thousand years since he last fought a threatening existence.

The sound of footsteps from within grew louder, and Leucadius could feel Ego's presence draw nearer, the celestial energy just as potent as the last time he'd sensed it.

It was weird how Ego could exist with his True Form out there and still possess so much power in his avatar to dwarf his Energy Level. If not for his Reactor, he wouldn't even have the confidence to actually stand here.

'When did I become fearful of a battle..? Is this the effect of the thing called Old age? Surely not…' Leucadius thought and made a wry smile only for the door to creak slightly as it began to open, revealing the figure of Ego in his humanoid form.

Ego smiled warmly, but there was a flicker of curiosity in his eyes, "Well now, this is an unexpected visit. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Leucadius smiled back, his bearing friendly. "I thought it was time we had a little chat, Mr David Hassleholf. Or should I say…," he replied, his voice smooth and composed, "Ego."

The two beings that stood at the ranks of Celestials stood facing each other, the atmosphere charged with an invisible power and weight that left not even a flicker in their immediate surroundings.

Peggy sat at her polished desk in her S.H.I.E.L.D. office, her pen gliding across the final document of the day. The dim light from the desk lamp cast a warm glow over the papers.

Behind her, the secretary stood silently, hands clasped in front of her, maintaining an air of professionalism.

With a final signature, Peggy dropped her pen onto the stack of completed files and leaned back in her chair, exhaling softly. Without turning around, she spoke in a calm, measured tone.

"Is this a better time to tell me everything you're hiding from me...?"

The secretary, who had been the picture of composure, let out an exaggerated groan. She rolled her eyes, the formality slipping away as she stretched lazily, her posture instantly more relaxed.

"Oh, finally," the secretary muttered, dropping any pretense of decorum. "You have no idea how hard it is to keep up that stiff routine all day, Peggy. Do you know how boring it is pretending not to know things?"

Peggy turned in her chair, raising an eyebrow, a small smirk playing on her lips. "Then why don't you start by telling me everything?"

The secretary grinned, shrugging casually. "Where should I start?"

"Why don't we start from the beginning?" Peggy asked as her eyes closed to a slit as she stared at the secretary.

"That'll be a hassle, but I guess a brief will do." Hala said uncaringly much to Peggy's irk. "Earth has just been impregnated by an Alien space God."

"..."

"..."

"Is that all?" Peggy asked and Hala shrugged as she munched on the snacks on Peggy's table.

"That's a brief. The longer version would just blow your mind. You're not ready to handle that level of knowledge."

"Try me." Peggy said challengingly but all she got in response was an eye roll from Hala.

"You can't taunt me into telling you anything girl. That trick got old millennia ago."

"..." Peggy could only regretfully sigh internally to Hala's response but still managed to pick up on something. "You're that old?"

"Heh. I existed before the concept of diversity in tongues existed…" Hala said with a smug smile while casting a disdainful look at Peggy. 'I was the one who scrambled your minds afterall.'

"Then what are you doing lazing around here when the Earth is in danger…? Aren't you supposed to be some kind of…angel?" Peggy asked, her eyes squinted as she leveled a glare at Hala.

"Arch…" Hala paused for a good while before slowly but steadily saying. "Archangel. And didn't you hear what I said? An Alien Space God. Where in my Special description was there written the possibility of an angel battling such a being?"

"Then The Ancient One should know a thing or two about this, right?" Peggy asked but only got a flat stare from Hala. "What?"

"The only reason I'm not jumping to conclusions regarding your intelligence is due to my knowledge of your lack of substantial knowledge of the Teirs of power in the Universe."

Saying this, Hala went back to her snack while speaking in between gulps. "An Archangel is only so strong. In front of a Godking, I'm only as strong as an teenager in comparison to an adult."

"A Godking… I remember them being at the SSS Rank category in Ygdrassil. Are they similar?" Peggy asked and Hala nodded with an appreciative smile.

"The S Rank Skill you got at the end of the Game only put you at the lower tiers of Archangel or Valkyries." Hala pointed out. "The SS Rank puts you at the level of Gods with prominent divinity, and you know about SSS Rank."

"Then your Godking…God. Has this been brought to his attention?" Peggy asked …

Hala paused, her hand halfway to her mouth with another snack. She turned to look at Peggy, amusement dancing in her eyes before she let out a light, almost mocking laugh. "Do you know the rank of my Lord?"

Peggy didn't respond immediately, her eyes narrowing as she scrutinized Hala, trying to gauge whether she was being serious or just toying with her.

Seeing Peggy's silence, Hala smirked and leaned back against the wall, casually tossing the snack back into her mouth. "EX," she said after a moment. "That's the rank given to Godkings who possess the power of a Celestial but are limited by their unique race as a being of the Universe. It's a tier above SSS, and it's reserved for those who've transcended the usual limits of power."

Peggy's expression remained impassive, though inwardly, she was processing the gravity of what Hala had just revealed. EX was a rank beyond even what she had encountered in her time playing Ygdrassil.

It was a level that not even the most powerful beings in that world could touch or garner attention from.

Hala continued, her tone almost conversational now, as though they were discussing something as mundane as the weather. "My Lord doesn't need to concern himself with every little spat that goes on in the universe. If He's interested, He might intervene. But more often than not, the flow of the earth is something He's content to watch play out without getting directly involved."

Peggy remained silent, her mind churn as she processed this new information. Hala's casual demeanor was at odds with the magnitude of what she was saying.

It was one thing to be aware of powerful beings out there, but quite another to realize that the one Hala served was on a level that could easily surpass them all.

"So," Hala said, finishing off the last of the snacks, "don't worry too much about that Alien Space God. My Lord's aware of it, and if it becomes too much of a nuisance, He'll deal with it. Until then, just try not to get in over your head. You're smart, but there are some things even you aren't ready for."

Peggy's lips pressed into a thin line, but she nodded. There was no point in arguing when she was so clearly outclassed, and Hala's words carried a truth she couldn't deny. There were forces at work in the universe far beyond her understanding.

"Fine," Peggy finally said, her tone measured. "But if this so-called Godking does decide to take action, I'd appreciate a little warning next time. I'd like to be prepared."

Hala chuckled, her usual smirk returning. "Fair enough. But trust me, Peggy, if my Lord decides to step in, you won't need a warning. You'll know."

With that, Hala turned away, leaving Peggy to ponder the conversation. The gravity of what she had just learned weighed heavily on her, but there was also a strange comfort in knowing that someone, or something, was watching over them, even if from a distance, however, a question sprouted in the deep reccesses of her mind…

Till when?
