Orion and the Primordial System

Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Pyralis part 2

Orion, lying in bed, took a deep breath after a long 'battle' with his wife. His eyes fixed on the futuristic TV screen in the room, trying to relax, while his mind still wandered between recent events. Beside him, Lyra, sleepy and snuggled against his broad chest, sighed softly. Her fingers absently traced Orion's skin, but her gaze landed on the TV.

She noticed something on the screen that caught her attention. Something, or rather, someone, but she was too comfortable to move from her spot. With a lazy tone, she spoke: "Dear, who is this? How did she get into your Dream Realm?"

Orion frowned slightly, looking up at the image. "Her? Ah... looks like a Fire Goddess... lost, I think," he replied, his voice floating between certainty and doubt.

Lyra gave a soft giggle, but without worrying too much, she let the question fade into the air, snuggling closer to her husband as silence reigned once again in the room.

"What do we do? Help her get rid of the illusion or...?" Lyra asked, after a few minutes of silence, her voice slurred by laziness.

Orion watched the figure on the screen for a moment longer before answering, his disinterest evident. "We can treat this as a test. If she passes, maybe we'll give her a chance."

Lyra shrugged slightly, still snuggled. "Hm... leave her for later." Her eyes sparkled coquettishly as she slowly stood up, revealing her tempting curves beneath the sheets. "I think we can continue our 'battle'. We're tied at 53-53, dear."

A corner of the smile appeared on Orion's lips. "Yeah, I think so," he said, already foreseeing what would come next.

Pyralis had been in the castle long enough to realize that this place was not just an old building. Something was different about it, as if it had been made by someone with a clear purpose. The environment, however, was free of any immediate danger, which in itself intrigued her. Who would create something so vast and leave it abandoned?

She walked through the silent corridors, her footsteps echoing softly on the stone walls. Upon entering another room, she was greeted by the same familiar scene: absolute emptiness. There was no furniture, statues, or any sign of past life. Only the cold and silent presence of bare stone.

Pyralis let out a short sigh, already accustomed to the repetition. Without wasting time, she continued to the next room. Her eyes swept the room, always alert for any unusual detail.

"This place is strange," she muttered, more to herself than to anyone else. "A place like this would not have been abandoned so easily... and even stranger is that there is no sign of any God here." Her voice echoed softly as she continued her exploration, curiosity mixed with a slight sense of unease.

Pyralis, determined to understand the mystery of the castle, walked through the corridors like a living flame, each step resonating with the strength of her presence. She knew that the last room was near, the end of her search in this enigmatic place. Pushing open the massive wooden doors, she entered a large hall, unlike anything she had encountered before. The room seemed to have a life of its own.

In the center, a figure stood, shrouded in shadows and faint flames. Its wings were gigantic, black as night, and its body exuded an aura of overwhelming power. The being was humanoid in shape, with curved horns that projected upwards, its eyes burning with an insane crimson glow. Its skin was covered in runes that glowed like embers on heated metal, and an aura of crackling fire surrounded it.

Pyralis looked at him, eyes narrowed. "So you were here the whole time," he murmured, finally understanding that the castle had been made to house an entity. However, there was something deeply wrong with him. The gleam in Ignarion's eyes was not that of a god in his prime, but of someone who had lost his sanity.

Ignarion let out a hoarse, distorted laugh, his voice echoing throughout the hall. "You… you came for this too? Came… to hunt me? No… No! The fire cannot be contained! The fire… is… EVERYTHING!" He roared, the flames around him intensifying violently, illuminating the entire hall with a scorching light.

Pyralis took a step forward, her expression hardening. "You are mad, God. Whatever happened here, I am tired of wandering aimlessly and you are a way to let off steam."

Ignarion launched himself at her in a frenzy, his wings spreading in a flaming arc as the floor cracked beneath the impact. Pyralis leapt aside, her own flames reacting to the assault. The air around her began to heat up, and the hall soon transformed into a battlefield of pure destruction.

Ignarion fired a wave of chaotic flames at her, the fire burning with distorted colors, and Pyralis, with a cold expression, raised her hand, creating a Shield of Eternal Flames. The mad god's flames crashed against the shield, spreading around her like a wave crashing against a rock.

"You need more than that," she said, her tone contemptuous.

In a swift movement, Pyralis summoned her Flame Blades, which swirled around her like a flaming storm. She hurled them at Ignarion, who blocked some with his wings, but the blades pierced through, tearing his skin and shredding his wings. He roared in pain, but instead of retreating, he charged forward with a new wave of madness.

Ignarion activated his Mind Corruption ability, and for a brief moment, reality around Pyralis distorted. The castle disappeared, and she found herself trapped in a nightmare scenario, surrounded by distorted memories of her greatest failures. But the battle-hardened Pyralis summoned all her mental strength and, with a cry of defiance, exploded into a storm of flames with her Burning Inferno ability, destroying the illusion and incinerating everything around her.

Ignarion staggered, his runes flickering as his regeneration struggled to keep up with his injuries. But Pyralis was far from finished. She called upon the Fury of Volcanoes, and the ground of the castle began to tremble. Fissures opened beneath Ignarion's feet, and incandescent magma began to pour from the ground. The mad god tried to rise, but was struck by an eruption of lava that engulfed him.

For a moment, Pyralis watched, waiting for Ignarion to finally succumb. But he emerged from the flames, his body burned and regenerating, even more insane. "You... think this can stop me? Fire is ETERNAL!" He lunged at her one last time, his wings unfolding in a devastating burst of flame.

Pyralis closed his eyes for a second, and then, with a single movement of his hand, he channeled the full power of his abilities. His Shield of Eternal Flames blazed with an intensity that Ignarion could not match, and his Flame Blades pierced the mad god's chest, passing through it completely.
