Chapter 1: Overlord the new player 1
The years passed by like a sigh. The Ainz Ooal Guild Gown , considered the strongest, saw how, one by one, its members retired, leaving behind adventures and indelible memories. Finally, the day came when Yggdrasil's twelve years were completed, the game would officially close.
Liam walked calmly through his house. His appearance had changed: from a young man of 20, he was now a bearded adult of 32. He walked around the place, touching things, and spoke:
—This is the last time I'll be in this place... for some reason I feel a little uneasy.
Liam raised his head and spoke:
—Six, please connect to the game and don't disconnect until the game officially closes.
Six replied in a robotic tone:
—Understood, sir. We will meet inside the game.
Liam smiled and said:
—Wait for me, I'll be there shortly.
He walked to the fridge, grabbed a drink, and after drinking it, he muttered:
—It's time to end this... there's no more time.
He took one last look around and said his last words:
—Thank you, my friend, it was a pleasure living here for twelve years.
He put down the bottle, went to his room, put on his headset and connector, selected the Yggdrasil app and entered the game.
When he did, he found himself in a room, sitting on a chair in front of a round table with 42 seats: it was the guild hall. Liam looked around and noticed that Momonga and Six were already there. At that moment, another person logged in: Herohero , a blue slime .
For the past few years, the only ones online were Momonga, Six, and Liam, but today, Herohero had come online.
Momonga, seeing this, spoke happily:
—Seriously, I didn't think you'd come, Herohero -san. It was like 12 years ago!
Herohero replied:
—Yes, it's been a long time, Momonga-san.
Liam chimed in:
—It's been a while, Herohero -san.
Momonga smiled, but Herohero looked worried.
—It's been so long… —Herohero said— . This is bad. I've been doing this for so long that I've lost the concept of it all…
Six, in a serious tone, spoke:
—You should take better care of yourself, Herohero -san.
Momonga added:
—That could be a bad sign.
Herohero , with a bit of mockery, replied:
—My body is completely exhausted... I'm sorry, I apologize to you. I just logged in to complain.
Liam smiled warmly and said:
—Don't worry. If this is enough to make you feel better, we will listen to you.
Momonga nodded in understanding:
-Don't worry about that.
Herohero sighed again and, tired, said:
—I'm sorry, but I have to go. I'm a little sleepy... I can't take it anymore.
He moved his hand towards the console to log out.
Momonga, with a worried tone, said:
—Please take care, Herohero -san.
Herohero looked around, taking one last look at the guild hall, and commented:
—But it's incredible... they still maintain the tomb of Nazarick.
He looked at Momonga and said, with gratitude:
—It should have been you who kept the guild. Thank you for your work. We were right in choosing you as leader, Momonga-san, Six-san, and Narkhan-san.
Six replied firmly:
—Nazarick was the home we created together. We cannot abandon it.
Herohero smiled, a little melancholy, and said:
—Thank you all for your work. You are the best. I hope we can meet somewhere else in the future.
Liam was about to speak, but stopped. He thought quietly, "If fate wills it, he will stay. I won't interfere."
Herohero went offline, disappearing into blue pixels.
Liam leaned back in his chair for a moment, then stood up and spoke:
—I'll stay until the end. I'll go to my apartment, I want to see him one last time. Six, what are your plans?
Six stood up from his seat and replied:
—I will walk through this floor and end up at my place of residence.
Momonga watched them, and Liam, with some sadness and amusement, commented:
—Momonga, you should fulfill your whims. It's the end of the game, do what you want.
Liam disappeared, and Six began to walk, leaving the room to explore the ninth floor.
Momonga bowed his head in silence, then stood up. He walked behind them until he reached the pedestal where Ainz Ooal 's staff was placed. Gown . Momonga watched him for a moment and thought: There are only us left in the game... This is the end... it was fun.
Momonga took the staff, touched the fine details of its structure, and with a sad smile, said:
—This staff was made with the effort of everyone. Each member put in a grain of sand to make it.
With those thoughts, Momonga began to walk, slowly leaving the place with the staff in his hand.
As he walked down the stairs, he looked around and noticed, to one side, a group of maids in armor and their service clothes. In front of them was Sebas, the butler, all bowing deeply in respect.
Momonga watched them and opened the console, searching for their names until he discovered that they were called the " Pleiades ".
Momonga thought for a moment, trying to remember the command, and finally spoke:
—Follow me.
He began to walk, and the Pleiades followed him in line, with Sebas at the front of them, marching in perfect order behind their leader.
Momonga walked through the corridors, and after a few minutes he reached a huge door decorated with the figures of an angel and a demon. The doors slowly opened, revealing the majestic throne room. As he walked through the place, his eyes filled with nostalgia, contemplating every corner and remembering the moments shared with his companions.
As he approached the throne, he noticed that a woman of imposing appearance was standing beside him. Seeing her, he thought: I think this is Albedo.
Momonga walked up the stairs, then looked back, seeing the Pleiades and Sebas, who had silently followed him there. Remembering the command, he muttered:
—On hold.
The Pleiades and Sebas, leading the formation, bowed respectfully and stepped aside, leaving the path clear for him. Momonga gave them one last glance before turning and continuing to the throne. Finally, he sat down, looking out over the vastness of the room in silence, allowing the memories of those years to wash over him as he bids a final farewell to Yggdrasil.
Momonga thought as he watched Albedo, and suddenly a console appeared showing the settings and a brief description of her. He read silently: Albedo, the leader of the guardians. Protector of the tenth floor. Hmm ...
He flipped through the panel, scrolling through all the detailed information about Albedo. Wow, this is long, he thought as he reached the end, where he found a sentence that read: As beautiful as she may look on the outside, she's a bitch deep down.
Surprised, Momonga glanced at Albedo and thought, I think Albedo's creator was Tabula-san… she always liked contradictory characters. He lowered his head and sighed. This is too much, Tabula-san… Then, he looked at his magic staff and thought, Normally, a tool is needed to change the settings, but with this item, it won't be a problem.
He brought the staff closer to the console, which emitted a faint glow, allowing him to edit the information. As a virtual keyboard appeared, Momonga deleted the last line and thought, "What should I put in? " Hmm , Narkhan said to fulfill my whims, so…
With a slight smile, he typed, "She is deeply in love with Momonga." The screen changed and the settings were saved. Momonga covered his face, feeling a little embarrassed. "Whoa , how embarrassing. Am I stupid?"
He sighed in relief, then looked at Albedo as he thought: If I'm not mistaken, the command is… Then, he said out loud:
-Lean.
The Pleiades , along with Sebas and Albedo, knelt on one knee in respect. Momonga leaned back on the throne, staring at the ceiling and thinking, So this is the end… it was fun. I'll have to get up early tomorrow. As soon as the server closes, I'll go to sleep.
Momonga watched the clock in his vision. The seconds seemed to drag on forever, each one longer than the last, until finally, the last one arrived. The clock marked all digits at zero, indicating the end of the game… or so he thought. However, instead of turning off, the counter began to ascend again, marking the beginning of something unknown.
Momonga's eyes, two red dots glowing in their empty sockets, shone brightly. He looked around the room, feeling something strange. What's going on? Have they postponed the server shutdown? he thought, surprised and confused.
Then, a heavy silence filled the throne room. Momonga, still sitting on his throne, felt a strange sensation in his surroundings, as if everything around him was more real, more tangible.
Momonga tried to call out to the console with a wave of his hand, but nothing happened. Stunned, he stood up, unable to understand what was happening. At that moment, Albedo knelt in front of him and, in a worried tone, said:
—Is something wrong, Momonga-sama?
Albedo's voice brought him out of his thoughts, but Momonga was still speechless, overwhelmed by bewilderment.
Meanwhile, elsewhere on the ninth floor, in Six's room, decorated in a stark white with silver accents, a throne stood in the center of the room. Six was kneeling in front of his throne, breathing rapidly, beads of sweat running down his forehead. Gritting his teeth, he muttered in despair:
—Damn… why, Liam? This doesn't make sense… I have to go to Momonga right now.
With effort, Six stood up, though his body was visibly shaking. He held onto the walls as he moved forward, slowly descending the stairs until he reached the tenth floor. He continued walking, shuffling his feet down the hallway until he reached the entrance to the throne room.
Gathering her strength, Six pushed open the massive doors, which slowly opened, revealing Momonga on the other side of the room, alongside Albedo. However, something strange caught her attention: Albedo was facing Momonga, and the latter seemed, for some reason, to be caressing her chest, eliciting slight sounds of surprise from Albedo.
Momonga, deep in thought, looked up to see Six watching him from the entrance with a look of bewilderment and shock. Realizing the situation, he looked at his hand, understood what he had done, and, embarrassed, quickly withdrew his hand, clearing his throat as he tried to maintain his composure.
"Six, what's wrong?" he asked, trying to change the subject.
Albedo, visibly shocked, took a few steps back to regain her composure. Six, still breathing heavily, collapsed to her knees on the ground.
Worried, Momonga quickly walked towards her, closely followed by Albedo.
"Are you okay, Six? What's wrong?" he asked, with genuine concern.
Six glanced at him and could barely respond.
-Don't know…
Albedo, with the same worried tone, approached and asked:
—Six-sama, have enemies attacked?
Momonga looked at Albedo and, with a determined tone, ordered:
—Get all the Guardians to the Coliseum on the sixth floor, except those on the fourth, eighth, and eleventh. In one hour. It's an emergency. I'll take care of Six.
"Understood, Momonga-sama," Albedo replied before quickly leaving the room.
Momonga helped Six to her feet and led her to the throne, where he had her sit down. In a reassuring tone, he said to her:
—Breathe slowly and try to calm down, Six.
Six nodded and followed his advice, slowly regulating her breathing. After a few minutes, she was calmer and finally spoke:
—Momonga, what do you think is happening?
Momonga was silent for a moment, trying to process the situation.
"I don't know," he finally replied. "Send Sebas to investigate outside the Great Tomb of Nazarick."
Six sighed, trying to process Momonga's words, and asked:
—Do you have any idea what's going on?
Momonga thought for a moment before answering:
— Hmm … I'm not sure, but one possibility is that we are no longer in our world. Perhaps we have taken possession of our avatars' bodies and have been sent somewhere else.
Six nodded, still confused.
—If that's the case, then… what will the people under our command think?
Momonga continued:
—As you heard, we'll meet on the sixth floor to find out.
Then, Six added:
—And where will Narkhan be?
"I don't know, but he'll definitely come here," Momonga replied.
Just then, Narkhan appeared in the center of the throne room. He looked around and noticed Momonga and Six.
"They seem to be okay," he said, approaching them.
Momonga watched him and commented:
—Are you okay, Narkhan?
Narkhan nodded, though visibly confused.
—I'm fine, but... what happened? Why didn't the server shut down?
Momonga explained:
—I don't know for sure, but it's possible that we're no longer in the game. The NPCs seem to move like normal beings, as if they were alive.
Narkhan paused on the stairs, his expression thoughtful, and said:
—I can only think of one thing: we have come to life in the bodies of our avatars.
Six looked at him in surprise and spoke:
—Momonga thought the same thing. What will you do now in this situation?
Narkhan looked at her, holding her gaze for a few seconds, and replied:
"I think it would be best to investigate the outside to come up with a plan with which we can protect this place." Then, he looked at Momonga. "I await your orders."
Momonga nodded.
—I think so too. But first, we need to know if we can trust the NPCs now that they seem to have come to life. They might leave us if they want to.
Six stood up, now recovered, and spoke:
—You're right. Let's go to the sixth floor to meet the Guardians.
"I understand," Narkhan replied, ready to join them on this new mission.
Momonga looked at Narkhan and asked:
—How did you get here, Narkhan?
Narkhan replied:
—I used the guild ring. I thought it wouldn't work, but it turned out it did.
Momonga nodded, understanding the situation.
—I understand. Then, it's time for us to go. Besides, we need to test how much we can do here and if everything is working properly.
He turned his body slightly, took his staff, which was floating at his side, and ordered:
—Walking.
With a gesture, Momonga teleported away. Six and Narkhan exchanged one last glance before she said to him:
—We'll talk later, Liam.
Six also teleported away, leaving Narkhan alone for a moment. Beneath his mask, he smiled in amusement, then teleported away to join them.
On the sixth floor, in the coliseum, Momonga appeared in a hallway that would lead him to the center of the amphitheater. Shortly after, Six and Narkhan materialized behind him. Momonga glanced at them out of the corner of his eye before beginning to walk. Narkhan, amused, approached him and commented:
—If we really were teleported, hehe, your voice changed quite a bit. With that voice you could conquer many ladies, hahaha.
Momonga looked at him, impassive, and replied:
—You don't change, you're still the same. Besides, it's not just my voice that's changed, everyone's has too.
Six intervened, with a mocking expression:
—What are you talking about, Narkhan? Momonga doesn't need any more girls, he already has Albedo! I saw him… caressing her breast. Pervert!
Momonga opened his eyes in surprise and fell silent. Narkhan, hearing this, burst out laughing.
—Hahaha! So you're quite the hunk, Momonga. You even touched her breasts! Tell me, how are they? Are they soft? We don't even know anything about this world and you're already taking your first steps, hahaha.
Momonga was about to respond, but Six didn't give him time and hit Narkhan on the head, pushing him forward. Narkhan quickly turned around, annoyed.
—Hey! Why are you hitting me?
Six crossed his arms, looking away.
—You deserved it… for being a pig.
—Who are you calling a pig, a white hen?
—Who are you calling a chicken? You are a pig with wings.
Six stuck out her tongue at him, and Narkhan cracked his knuckles in response.
—Looks like someone needs to be brought down a peg.
Six smiled defiantly.
—I want to see you try.
Momonga intervened, sighing.
—That's enough. We don't have time for this. Besides, since when did you two get along?
Narkhan sighed and shrugged.
—Okay, but let it be known that she started it.
Six pouted as Momonga sighed, and the two continued walking. They exited the corridor, and upon reaching the entrance, a gate opened to let them through. They descended the stairs until they reached the center of the coliseum.
Narkhan looked up at the starry night sky and remarked:
—This floor is the amphitheater… A false sky for stargazing.
Momonga took a few steps forward and said:
—The guardians of this floor are the dark twins that Chagama -san programmed.
As Six looked around, a voice echoed from a balcony. The three of them turned to look, and from there, a figure leapt out, performing acrobatics in the air until landing gracefully on the ground, posing proudly. The person ran towards Momonga and stood in front of him.
"Aura," Momonga said.
The dark elf bowed happily.
—Welcome, Momonga-sama, Six-sama, and Narkhan-sama! Welcome to the floor we protect.
Six walked over to Aura and gently stroked her hair.
—We will be on this floor for a short while. I hope we do not disturb you.
Aura smiled widely.
—What do you say, Six-sama? You are always welcome here. You are the overlords of the Great Tomb of Nazarick! You could never be considered intruders.
Momonga nodded.
-Understood.
Narkhan walked closer, noticing something.
—Now that I think about it, one of you is missing, isn't there?
Aura turned around towards the balcony and shouted:
—Mare! You're being rude to the supremes! Hurry up and get here!
From the balcony, a trembling voice answered:
—N-no… I can do it, onee -chan…
"Mare!" Aura insisted, raising her voice in a reproachful tone.
"O-okay…" Mare finally said, her voice weak. She braced herself and jumped off the balcony. When she reached the ground, she landed on her feet, but lost her balance a little, staggering on the verge of falling. Aura brought a hand to her face, clearly embarrassed.
After recovering, Mare straightened her posture and began running towards the supremes, holding her skirt with both hands as she timidly walked towards them.
Mare, finally standing in front of the supremes, lowered her head shyly and muttered:
—S-sorry to keep you waiting.
Momonga looked at him and, in his usual leader tone, replied:
—Don't worry, Mare. I came because I need you to help us with something.
Narkhan stepped forward, adding with a confident smile:
—We want to do some tests with our power. I hope you can help us.
Aura and Mare exchanged glances and replied enthusiastically:
—I'll be happy to help you!
"I will make the necessary preparations," Aura said with determination, then turned to organize the area.
Momonga, before Aura completely walked away, added:
—One more thing: I have summoned all the guardians to this floor. They will be here within the hour.
Aura paused for a moment and, somewhat surprised, asked:
—Eh...? Shalltear is coming too?
Momonga nodded, and Aura lowered her head slightly, showing a mix of awkwardness and responsibility before leaving to organize the preparations.
After a while, several beasts had set up scarecrows as targets, and the three supremes stood in front of these targets, ready to test their powers. Aura and Mare watched from outside the arena, attentive. The beasts that had prepared the area approached them to protect them, while both guardians prepared to witness what their lords would do.
Momonga stepped forward, thoughtful for a moment, then waved his staff as he spoke in a firm voice:
—Summon: Supreme Fire Elemental!
With those words and a flash of the snake on Momonga's staff, the scarecrows were incinerated in an instant, and from the ashes a towering figure emerged. A scorching wind spread out, forcing the protective beasts of Aura and Mare to reinforce the natural shield that covered them from the scorching heat. At the same time, a magical barrier emerged around each of the supremes: a purple aura for Momonga, white for Six, and red for Narkhan.
"That's amazing!" Aura exclaimed in amazement as she watched the creature take shape.
In front of them, the fire elemental looked like an incomplete dragon, without legs or wings, wrapped in a whirlwind of fire that swirled in its lower half. Its draconic head had horns that seemed to be made of pure magma. Narkhan, intrigued, smiled beneath his mask and commented:
—This will be fun… Level 8 Fire Fundamental Element, not bad… but I think we can make it more interesting.
Raising his arm with his palm outstretched, Narkhan muttered in a serious tone:
—Element Enhancement: Level 9 Evolution!
With those words, a powerful wind surged forth again, and the elemental beast began to expand, growing to a massive size. Its horns lengthened, and flaming wings emerged from its back, giving it an appearance closer to that of a full dragon.
"Now it's almost a dragon in its entirety," Narkhan said with satisfaction.
"Amazing!" Mare whispered, impressed. "He's made the spell even more powerful."
But Six, who watched with a mix of pride and rivalry, raised an eyebrow and commented:
—A dragon? Why not make it even more interesting?
Spreading her own wings with a touch of drama, she raised a hand and added:
—Element Enhancement: Evolution Level 10. Final Form!
The elemental beast expanded once more, reaching a colossal size that nearly exceeded the boundaries of the coliseum. The flames on its body turned blinding white, and a halo of pure fire appeared above its head, like a mystical crown. The creature now had a majestic and frightening appearance, radiating an imposing power.
Aura and Mare were left open-mouthed by the spectacle.
"This is… extraordinary!" Aura said, her eyes shining with excitement.
Momonga looked at the elemental creature and commented:
—Don't you think this is a bit excessive?
"Well, I was just testing my skills," Narkhan replied with a carefree smile.
"So what should we do with him now?" Six asked, looking at Momonga.
Momonga turned his attention to Aura and Mare.
—Would you like to try it yourself?
Aura and Mare looked at each other, and she replied enthusiastically:
—Really? It will be a pleasure!
Mare, on the other hand, turned around and murmured timidly:
—I just remembered I have something to do, so…
But Aura grabbed him by the shoulder before he could escape.
—Come on, Mare, it won't be difficult.
Mare sighed in resignation and nodded. Momonga began to walk out of the arena, followed by Six and Narkhan, while Aura and Mare prepared for combat. Aura had her whip ready, while Mare held her staff nervously.
"I see you're ready. Level 10 Fire Elemental, attack the twins!" Momonga ordered.
The elemental beast released a powerful flame towards them. Aura quickly ran, leaping into the air, and launched an attack with her whip. However, the creature grabbed the whip and pulled her to the ground. Mare reacted immediately and cast a magic shield spell that protected Aura, and when it hit the ground, a rumble echoed. As the cloud of dust dissipated, Aura was unharmed thanks to the shield.
Aura stood up and pulled her whip, freeing it from the beast's grasp. She then increased her speed and, with a precise whiplash, cut the elemental in half. However, the creature quickly regenerated and counterattacked.
From the platform, Momonga watched alongside Narkhan and Six.
—As I thought, even a spell of this level is not a problem for them.
Narkhan took a few steps and sat on the edge of the platform, resting his elbow on his knee and resting his cheek on his hand.
—At first they were confident, but I don't think they will repeat the mistake.
Six commented, carefully observing the surroundings:
—It seems that magical abilities present no problems, right, Momonga?
"It seems so, but we still need to try something else," Momonga replied, as he placed his hand where his ear should be and activated the Message skill .
After a few seconds, both Six and Narkhan looked surprised. Narkhan looked at Momonga and commented:
—The message you sent… got through to me.
"Me too," Six said, nodding.
Momonga nodded, satisfied.
—I see, then it works correctly.
At that moment, another voice was heard on the line. It was Sebas.
—Yes? What do you need, Momonga-sama?
Six, with a surprised voice, commented out loud:
—That's Sebas's voice!
—So you can join the call too, heh… interesting —Narkhan said, smiling curiously.
Momonga continued, speaking directly to Sebas:
—Sebas, what does it look like outside?
—Well… there is a slight problem —Sebas replied, in a serious tone.
Momonga replied without losing his calm:
—I understand. I have called all the Guardians to gather on the sixth floor, in the amphitheater. I want you to report to me everything you have observed so far.
"As you command, Momonga-sama," Sebas replied, and the communication was cut off.
Six looked at the center of the coliseum, noticing that Aura and Mare had defeated the elemental beast. He commented, with a slight smile:
—It seems they're done.
Without delay, Six began walking towards the twins. Momonga, meanwhile, glanced at Narkhan and quietly commented:
—Don't you think Six has changed?
Narkhan also looked at him sideways and replied thoughtfully:
— Hmm , it's possible. But now he seems to be more... free, don't you think?
"You may be right," Momonga conceded, musing. The two of them then followed Six towards the twins.
When they arrived, Six had already healed Aura and Mare with his magic. Momonga looked at them with satisfaction and said:
—You two were magnificent.
Aura responded enthusiastically:
—I haven't exercised like this in a long time!
Six smiled, stroking Mare's hair, and asked sweetly:
—And you, Mare? What did you think?
Mare blushed slightly, smiling shyly.
—It was… amazing, Six-sama. Thank you for healing us.
"Don't worry about it," Six said, stopping stroking her hair.
Momonga, noticing that the fight had been demanding, spoke:
—They must be thirsty.
He reached out to a small portal and pulled out a jug of water. Six, also opening a portal, pulled out two glasses, which Momonga filled and Six handed to the twins.
Aura and Mare looked at each other before drinking the water gratefully. Mare then picked up both glasses and handed them back to Six, who stored them in the portal.
Then, Aura, with a curious air, commented:
—Momonga-sama, I thought you were scarier.
"Really?" Momonga replied, smiling slightly. "If you prefer, I can be that way."
"This way it's better, definitely better," Aura said, smiling, while Mare nodded shyly in confirmation.
Momonga simply nodded and began walking back to where Narkhan was, who was watching from the platform stairs. Six followed him silently. The two of them walked up the stairs, stopping at the bottom and turning back to the arena, where Aura and Mare had stood again, facing them, looking at the three supremes with respect and admiration.
At that moment, a dark portal opened, and a female figure emerged from it. It was Shalltear, who exclaimed with a smug smile:
—Wow! I'm the first one to arrive.
As she walked towards the others, her gaze fell upon Momonga. Instantly, she dropped her umbrella, which disappeared in a cloud of dark energy butterflies, and ran towards him, hugging him by the neck.
"My lord, the only one I have ever loved and whom I have never been able to surpass," she said with devotion.
Momonga was shocked, his thoughts a whirlwind of confusion: Huh? Huh? But what...?
Both Narkhan and Six looked at the scene in surprise. From behind, Aura, visibly annoyed, crossed her arms and raised her voice:
—Shalltear, move away a bit!
Shalltear released herself from Momonga's neck, turning her head with a mocking smile.
—Oh, so the tadpole is here too, she replied provocatively.
Aura gave her a hostile look, but Shalltear continued, addressing Mare:
—It must be difficult for you to have such a... impulsive older sister.
Aura, annoyed but maintaining a defiant smile, said:
—Fake tits?
Shalltear was stunned for a second, then shouted indignantly:
-That?!
Aura laughed mockingly.
—So I guessed right, huh? That's why you appeared in a portal, right? If you walk too much, you might drop them.
Shalltear, feeling attacked, covered her chest with her hands and retorted:
—You talk too much for someone who has nothing!
With an amused smile, Aura replied:
—I'm still young, I'm only 76 years old. But you're an undead… you'll never grow up.
Shalltear gritted her teeth and exclaimed angrily:
—Bitch! You should think before you speak.
With that, Shalltear ran towards Aura, and the two began a heated argument, hurling insults and challenging glances at each other.
Meanwhile, Momonga, Narkhan, and Six watched the scene with a mix of amusement and nostalgia. Momonga thought to himself, How nostalgic… Ains , Peroroncino -san, who created Shalltear, and Bukubukuchagama -san, who created Aura and Mare, used to fight in this very manner.
At that instant, a deep and calm voice resounded from the other end of the arena:
—How much longer do you plan to play in front of our overlords?
Momonga turned his gaze towards the imposing figure that had just appeared. Cocyutos, he thought, the quintessential warrior, created by the meticulous "Warrior".
Meanwhile, Shalltear screamed, her fury evident as dark energy began to emanate from her fists:
—This tadpole is slandering me!
With her whip in hand, Aura replied:
—It's not slander if I'm telling the truth.
Cocyutos struck the ground with his spear, causing a layer of ice to spread rapidly, freezing the ground beneath the two of them. Aura and Shalltear, shocked, stood still for a moment. Momonga took the opportunity and, releasing a small fraction of his dark aura, created a dense and overbearing atmosphere.
"Enough," he said firmly.
Aura and Shalltear, feeling the pressure of her aura, quickly adopted a respectful stance. In unison, they both bowed and said humbly:
-My apologies.
Momonga looked at Cocyutos and nodded again.
—So you came, Cocyutos.
Cocyutos bowed his head in respect and replied:
—I will make sure to always respond to your calls, Momonga-sama.
Momonga nodded.
-Good job.
At that moment, another voice echoed throughout the coliseum.
—Gentlemen, my apologies for keeping you waiting.
Momonga turned to the new figure entering the scene. Demiurge who was after Albedo, he thought, the supreme strategist when it comes to defense.
Demiurge stepped forward elegantly, and Albedo walked in front and took a leading position in front of the other guardians. Demiurge and Cocyutos, showing the same formality, took their positions alongside the other guardians.
Albedo spoke in an authoritative and respectful tone:
—Supremes, we are ready and attentive to receive your orders.
Albedo and the other Guardians knelt down, placing a hand over their hearts in deep respect. Momonga watched them, letting his dark aura shine brightly as Six stood by his side and Narkhan sat on the platform, watching intently.
"Raise your heads," Momonga ordered, his voice ringing with authority. "Everyone has gathered here, and for that I give you my thanks."
Albedo looked up and replied solemnly:
"Your thanks are unnecessary, Momonga-sama. We have given our lives to the Supreme Beings and their purposes. You may dispose of us as you wish, for we have sworn to do our utmost to live up to your expectations. You, the supreme beings, are our creators and the reason for our existence."
All the Guardians, including Albedo, spoke in unison, their voices firm and committed:
—We swear it!
Momonga was about to speak, but he received a message from Narkhan:
—It's time for the trial by fire, do nothing.
Six and Momonga were shocked, but remained still. Narkhan, who had had his eyes closed, slowly opened them, revealing his dragon eyes: a deep orange in the center and red towards the outside, with a slit pupil.
As he opened his eyes fully, his aura of power was released, expanding with an overwhelming presence. The pressure was such that the guardians couldn't help but bow their heads to the ground, unable to bear it. The entire colosseum trembled at Narkhan's energy, which dyed the air red and black. Even Momonga and Six took a step back from the intensity.
Narkhan stood up and spoke in a deep voice:
—Is this how they show their devotion?
He slowly advanced towards the guardians, who were paralyzed. Aura tried to raise her head to speak, but as she looked into Narkhan's eyes, she saw an illusion: a gigantic eye watching her, and she immediately felt insignificant, like an ant before him. None of the guardians could utter a word, and the entire place trembled. Meanwhile, the walls of the coliseum began to crack under the pressure.
Narkhan spoke again, his voice heavy with sarcasm:
—They don't say anything? Is this all their loyalty?
With a slow movement, he raised his hand, increasing the pressure, and touched Albedo's shoulder. Instantly, the pressure disappeared. With a smile, Narkhan said, stretching out his arms:
—Wonderful, nothing happened, right? Hahaha, my apologies, Guardians.
The guardians were finally able to breathe, watching Narkhan, who stood behind Momonga, laughing uncontrollably.
Momonga glanced at Narkhan and commented:
—You went too far.
Narkhan just shrugged his shoulders, unconcerned, while Momonga sighed and turned his gaze to the guardians. Then he spoke firmly:
—I trust that all of you will be able to fulfill your duties without any failure.
The guardians exchanged glances and smiled upon hearing these words from their lord. Momonga continued speaking:
—That said, Nazarick is currently in a strange situation. Sebas, you have investigated the surroundings, right?
Sebas, who was standing to the side of the coliseum entrance near the Supremes, bowed respectfully when Momonga looked at him and then walked over, kneeling before him.
—Tell me what you saw, Sebas.
Sebas raised his head and replied:
—Outside the Great Tomb of Nazarick lies a grassland, completely different from the swamps that used to surround us. I couldn't see any human or monster constructions within a kilometer radius.
Momonga nodded, pondering the information.
—Good job, Sebas… So, this means that Nazarick was teleported to an unknown land for some reason.
With that conclusion in mind, he looked at the guards and continued:
—Albedo, as the leader of the Floor Guardians, and Demiurge, as the leader of the defense line.
Both guards responded with a firm "Yes" and bowed slightly in attention.
—I want you to create a robust defense system with shared information and fortify our defenses.
All the guardians responded in unison with a "Yes, Momonga-sama." Momonga then turned his attention to Mare.
—Mare, is there any way to hide the Great Tomb of Nazarick?
Mare responded timidly, trying not to hesitate:
—It would be… a bit difficult just using magic, but… if we covered the walls with earth and hid them with vegetation…
Albedo intervened, frowning:
—Do you want to stain the walls of Nazarick with dirt?
Momonga looked at her calmly and said:
—Albedo, don't make unnecessary comments.
Albedo bowed her head in apology.
—Yes, sir. My apologies.
Momonga turned his attention to Mare.
—Is it possible to cover the walls with earth?
Mare nodded, still shyly.
—Yes, as long as you allow me. However…
Before he could finish, Six spoke, assessing the situation:
—A lot of land would look unnatural and make no sense… hmm , seeing what Sebas said, it seems there are no hills nearby. The best thing would be to create artificial mountains around to hide among them.
Momonga nodded, considering the idea.
"It's not a bad suggestion; it seems like the best we can do." Then he glanced at Narkhan and asked, "What do you think, Narkhan?"
Narkhan smiled amusedly.
—I have several ways to hide it, but they wouldn't be viable. Besides, you're better at magic than I am, so I think your plan is adequate.
Momonga nodded in approval.
—Then we'll do that. Later on, we'll hide the areas that can't be concealed with magic.
All the guardians responded in unison:
—Yes, Momonga-sama!
Momonga spoke again:
—Finally, there is something I want to ask each of you, Guardians.
He first looked at Shalltear.
—Shalltear, what do you think of us, the Supremes?
Shalltear responded with enthusiasm and reverence:
"Momonga-sama! You are the crystallization of beauty… the most beautiful person in this world." He then looked at Six. "Six-sama, the angel of Nazarick, the one who protects and loves us… the most beautiful woman in this world, incomparable to any other." Finally, he set his gaze on Narkhan. "And Narkhan-sama, the strongest being in the world and the person I consider the most fun."
Momonga nodded and then turned his attention to Cocytos .
—Now you, Cocytos .
Cocytos , with a solemn posture, responded respectfully:
"Momonga-sama, he is the absolute leader of Nazarick, the greatest magic caster in existence." He bowed a little closer. "Six-sama, the most beautiful and strongest woman, worthy of her position, the one the Supremes deeply respected. And Narkhan-sama, the strongest warrior, the man whom I admire and respect for his power and righteousness, who never gave up in the face of difficulties."
Momonga nodded again and looked at Aura.
—It's your turn, Aura.
Aura, with respect and a smile, replied:
—Momonga-sama, a merciful leader who always thinks of the future. Six-sama, the most beautiful and compassionate woman, a worthy companion. And Narkhan-sama, the strongest supreme, the one who has never known defeat.
Momonga then turned to Mare:
—Your turn, Mare.
Mare, visibly nervous, responded timidly:
"Momonga-sama, a very calm and kind person." She looked at Six and blushed. "Six-sama… the most beautiful and kind person." Finally, looking at Narkhan. "Narkhan-sama… a fun and cheerful person."
Momonga then turned his gaze to Demiurge.
—It's your turn, Demiurge.
Demiurge, with wisdom in his words, replied:
—Momonga-sama, a man who makes wise decisions and acts with complete efficiency, a mysterious being. Six-sama, the woman who represents the beauty and mercy of Nazarick. And Narkhan-sama, the strongest, who never allowed the Supremes to stop praising him, a being who represents true power.
Finally, Momonga looked at Sebas.
—Sebas, your turn.
Sebas responded respectfully:
—You, the Supreme Ones, those who never abandoned us and always accompanied us… are merciful beings and worthy of admiration.
Finally, Momonga turned to Albedo.
—Albedo.
Albedo, with deep devotion, replied:
—Momonga-sama, the supreme leader of Nazarick… and also the man I love.
Six and Narkhan were shocked by the confession, and Narkhan barely managed to hold back a smile. Momonga, keeping his composure, simply said:
-I see.
Albedo continued:
—Six-sama, the pinnacle of beauty and whom I deeply respect. And Narkhan-sama, the strongest man, the one who never had a rival and Momonga-sama's best friend.
The three Supremes were surprised to hear Albedo's sincere words. Momonga nodded and said:
—I have heard your feelings. I hope you will continue to work like this on behalf of the Supremes.
The guards responded in unison:
—Yes, Momonga-sama!
Momonga, Six, and Narkhan then teleported away, leaving the guardians with renewed devotion.
The three of them appeared in a large hall, the meeting room, where a round table occupied the center and was surrounded by 42 seats. It was an imposing place, filled with memories of the Supremes who once inhabited Nazarick.
Momonga sat down and sighed, letting out a short exhale of exhaustion.
Narkhan also took a seat, and Six joined them, settling into a nearby chair. Momonga leaned back in his chair and spoke in a bewildered tone:
—I'm exhausted... What about your answers? They were too glorious.
Narkhan nodded and, after a brief pause, replied:
—That wasn't what surprised me. We programmed them to be devout ourselves… but what really caught my attention was the last thing Albedo said. It seemed as if, when we were in the game, she had some kind of lucidity.
Six, with a thoughtful expression, interjected:
—You're right. Everyone's answers seemed strange… almost too sincere.
Momonga looked at the two of them, still pondering the guardians' behavior, and spoke in a more serious tone:
—I hope everything they said was sincere.
Six and Narkhan nodded slowly, sharing the same feeling of curiosity and doubt.
In the sixth floor coliseum, just after the departure of the Supremes, the guardians stood up. Mare, still visibly shaken, muttered timidly:
—That was scary, onee -chan…
Aura, at his side, nodded as she recalled the intensity of the moment.
—Yes, it was… Narkhan-sama's presence is terrifying. He made the entire coliseum tremble and even some parts crack. He is definitely the strongest… And the Supremes are amazing.
Cocyutos then spoke, with respect and admiration.
—I didn't think Momonga-sama and Narkhan-sama were so powerful. Their power is enormous, beyond compare.
Albedo, with a gleam of adoration in her eyes, added:
—Momonga-sama is amazing… he is able to lead even Narkhan-sama, the most powerful being. Thus, he demonstrates his true greatness as our supreme leader.
Demiurge, adjusting his glasses, nodded in agreement.
—I agree with you, Albedo.
Aura, with a thoughtful expression, recalled:
—Momonga-sama was completely different when he was alone with us. He was kind, and Narkhan-sama always smiled gently. Six-sama was the most affectionate.
Albedo, excited, spread her wings and spoke in an exalted tone:
—It is exactly as you say. He responded to our feelings and acted like the absolute leader that he is, as expected of our creator. Among the 42 or so supreme beings, he is at the top. The three who accompanied us to the end are the greatest.
Demiurge, with a thoughtful expression, spoke:
—You are right, Albedo, but… Narkhan-sama…
Albedo relaxed and, with a curious tone, replied:
—It's strange, isn't it?
Cocyutos intervened:
-What are you talking about?
Demiurge explained:
—Although he always seems to be calm and fun, in his eyes you can see someone very clever… also…
Albedo completed the idea:
—That presence he showed in front of us… If any of us had stepped back, even a little, we would have died instantly.
The guardians, surprised, exchanged glances, except for Demiurge, who nodded with a smile of understanding.
—That's true. His presence was overwhelming beyond compare. What he was doing was a test, to evaluate our will and see if we were worthy of our positions.
At that moment, Sebas, who was on the platform, approached and spoke calmly:
—Then I return to my duties. I don't know where the three Supremes went, but they are probably in the Supremes' meeting room.
Albedo, looking at him out of the corner of her eye, replied in a solemn and dedicated tone:
"Inform me immediately if anything happens, especially if Momonga-sama calls me. I will be there immediately, no matter what sacrifice I must make… although, if he calls me to his chambers, I may need some time…" Albedo began to ramble, losing herself in her adoration towards Momonga.
Sebas nodded, trying not to show any reaction to Albedo's emotion.
—Understood. Without further ado, I'm leaving, gentlemen of the floor guards.
Sebas left the coliseum, leaving the guardians behind. Demiurge, looking sideways, noticed something and spoke:
—Is something wrong, Shalltear?
Shalltear, who was still kneeling, raised her head with an embarrassed expression and admitted:
—Momonga-sama's presence was so overwhelming that… it has excited me so much that… my underwear… has suffered a crisis.
Albedo, noticing this, let out her aura of disdain and spoke in a cold tone:
—Damn bitch…
Shalltear, not to be outdone, released her own aura and replied mockingly:
—What are you saying? We have received the amazing presence of Momonga-sama, this is a reward! Anyone who doesn't feel this way is crazy… gorilla mouth!
Albedo, furious, replied:
—Damn leech!
The tension between the two quickly increased, and before long they were in full argument, hurling insults at each other with their auras intertwined.
Demiurge, seeing the conflict, decided to stay out of it and headed towards Aura.
—Aura, I will leave women's affairs in the hands of another woman.
Aura looked at him with a mix of discomfort and urgency.
—Hey, Demiurge… are you planning to leave the responsibility of solving this to me?
Demiurge simply turned around, ignoring the protest, and began walking.
—If something happens, I will intervene. —Mare and Cocyutos decided to follow him, staying out of the conflict.
Cocyutos, as he walked, commented in his serious tone:
—It's not worth… fighting over something… like that.
And with that, the male Guardians left Albedo and Shalltear to their bickering, as they moved on to their own tasks.
Demiurge arrived at a secluded area, far enough away from the heated argument between Albedo and Shalltear. He watched the scene from a distance with particular interest, and in his elegant tone, he commented:
—Personally, I find it fascinating.
Mare looked at him, intrigued, and Demiurge continued speaking thoughtfully:
—He could be a great addition to our forces and the future of Nazarick.
"What do you mean?" Mare asked, confused.
Demiurge gave a slight smile.
"A true master should consider having an heir, don't you think? Although Momonga-sama will be with us until the end, there may come a day when he decides to go somewhere else or focus on higher matters. It would be wise for him to leave someone in whom we can place our loyalty."
Mare opened her eyes, understanding the suggestion.
—Do you mean that… one of them could leave an heir for Momonga-sama?
From behind Mare, Cocyutos exclaimed, in a tone of astonishment and slight disapproval:
—What kind of blasphemy… is that?
Demiurge looked at him without losing his composure.
—Wouldn't it be comforting if Momonga-sama left behind offspring who could carry on his legacy?
Cocyutos seemed to consider the idea for a moment, and soon his thoughts turned into suppressed excitement. He began to imagine Momonga's hypothetical son calling him "Uncle Cocyutos", moving excitedly at the sight.
Mare thought for a moment and added, timidly:
—But… wouldn't it be better if I was with Six-sama? She is also one of the supreme ones.
There was a moment of silence, instantly interrupted by the reaction of Albedo and Shalltear, who had managed to hear Mare's comment. Mare, noticing this, became visibly nervous.
Demiurge, resuming the tone of the conversation, replied:
—That is a possibility, no doubt. Furthermore, Six-sama is the vice leader of the guild; her position is certainly worthy of consideration.
However, Albedo quickly approached and firmly said:
—You better not say anything else, Demiurge. Six-sama could stay with Narkhan-sama. After all, they have always gotten along well.
"I think so too," Shalltear added with a slight smile.
Demiurge shrugged, accepting the interruption.
—That's right, this is not the time for speculation. We must concentrate on our orders.
Albedo, becoming serious, looked at all the guardians.
—You are right. Shalltear, we will resume our discussion another time.
"I have no problem," Shalltear replied, calm and no longer a trace of hostility.
Finally, Albedo looked at each of the guardians and declared:
—It's time to put the plan into action. Everyone to their posts!
