Chapter : Prologue part two: Overlord, the new player
With a nimble leap, Liam reached the island. He pulled a key from his inventory and inserted it into the lock on the chest. Opening it, he found a peculiar object: a silver cube composed of smaller cubes that were constantly moving, like a puzzle in perpetual flow.
"So this is the… interesting item," he murmured, admiring it. "I'll use it when I reach a major city. It'll take me some time to set it up."
Liam put the item into his inventory and, with a leap, returned to the cave entrance. He walked towards the exit, and as he crossed it, he took one last look. To his surprise, the cave entrance disappeared behind him, fading into pixels.
Liam was walking through the woods using a game feature that allowed him to listen to music. As he walked along, he bobbed his head to the tune, enjoying the moment until he suddenly stopped. He reached out his hand and, moving to the beat of the music, declared:
—Unique skill, Perfect Sun, first level!
A sphere of white light appeared beneath his palm, illuminating the entire place before falling to the ground. The instant it touched the ground, an explosion echoed out in a 200-meter radius with a deafening boom: BOOM! A dome of energy swept away everything in its path, disintegrating trees and scattering rocks through the air. The ground trembled violently, and a cloud of dust rose up, covering the entire area .
When the dust cleared, Liam found himself in the center of a massive crater. He continued to bob his head to the music, his eyes closed. Opening them, he looked around, noticing how several players disappeared into pixels, dropping items from their inventories. With a smirk, he said:
—And to think that I would hit these players with my attack... Don't you believe it?
He looked up and saw more players surrounding him beyond the crater, all with a rage emote above their heads. With a quick glance, Liam thought:
I'm surrounded... they're humans and demi-humans . Hmm , what are they planning?
Liam spoke out loud, amused:
—Who sent you little players after me? Hahaha.
One of the players stepped forward. He was a barbarian warrior, about two meters tall and with dark skin. He glared at Liam and spoke:
—You are the anonymous dragon, the strongest player! Do you remember me and the others?
Liam looked around at everyone with a smirk and replied sarcastically:
—I don't remember them, who are they?
The player, full of rage, opened his mouth to respond.
—My name is...! —But before he could finish, Liam suddenly appeared in front of him and, with amusement in his eyes, whispered:
-I don't mind.
He grabbed the player's head and slammed it into the ground with a boom! The player disappeared in an instant, dissolving into pixels as Liam looked on in satisfaction.
The surrounding players were stunned by how easily Liam eliminated their partner. Still filled with rage, they decided to attack him with their entire arsenal of skills and attacks. However, at the last moment, Liam unfurled his imposing wings and, in the blink of an eye, disappeared from their sight.
Before they could react, Liam reappeared in the center of the crater, a pair of sharp blades emerging from his forearms, facing downward and backward. At the spot where he had disappeared, the same players who had attempted to attack him were frozen for a moment, until deep cuts manifested on their bodies. Their HP bars suddenly plummeted to zero, and one by one, they disintegrated in a shower of pixels.
Liam looked at his blades with a satisfied smile. The marks on the blades reflected patterns similar to those on his skin. He raised his head, addressing the players still surrounding him in a defiant tone.
—Tell me who sent you. If you do, I might spare your lives.
The players took a step back, hesitating. But Liam laughed in amusement.
—Better not say anything? Fine… in that case, they'll fall right here and their items will be mine.
The players looked at each other and, with no other choice, prepared to attack him. However, before they could move, the sky opened up and a series of golden energy steps descended between the clouds. At the top of these steps appeared an imposing figure, with a crown on his head, golden hair, and a red cape with a furry edge, just like that of a king.
"Wow, you are a real troublemaker," the figure said in a haughty voice. "I thought these losers would be enough to take you down."
The crowned man descended to the last step, which expanded to the sides, forming platforms where seven more individuals appeared, each wearing distinctive armor and carrying a special weapon: spear, sword, axe, bow, magic staff, daggers and an invocation that floated beside him.
Liam looked up, watching them with a mix of curiosity and amusement.
— Hmm , I don't know you either.
The crowned man looked at him with contempt.
—You're a player who only cares about himself... trash.
"Wow, you are really rude," Liam replied with a smirk. "Didn't your mom teach you how to talk, you piece of shit?" He laughed scornfully.
The man in the crown became enraged and pointed at Liam.
—They call you the strongest player, but that ends today.
Liam stopped laughing, a spark of excitement lighting up his eyes.
—I hope you can back up those words, kid.
The man looked at him with disdain.
—I am the first of humans, the king of all. You can call me King.
—So you call yourself King, huh?
—That's right. I'm a player who was in the beta and I'm known as the first human, the king of this whole world, do you understand, creature?
A bead of anime-style sweat appeared on Liam's head, who stared at it in disbelief.
—Are you okay in the head?
Silently, Liam thought, "Interesting… he has the title of 'King of the World'. And those beside him seem to be heroes. I wonder how strong all of them are…"
Rey looked at him with a confident smile.
—You better give up, you have no chance against us.
Liam responded with unexpected joy.
—Surrendering is not an option… since I am also a king.
King frowned, surprised.
—Are you a king too? Now it all makes sense… I guess I can't afford to retreat.
Liam eyed the heroes with a hint of mocking respect.
—So you're heroes, right? Tell me, are you sure you want to fight?
The hero of sword and shield stepped forward.
—That's right, we are heroes. And with your words, what are you trying to tell us?
Liam gave a calm smile.
—You see, I also have a unique race… a powerful dragon race.
The spear hero looked at him carefully and nodded.
—So it's you, the strange dragon they talk so much about… I see. I will defeat you, like the heroes defeated the dragons in the stories of the past.
—I see… —Liam lowered his head and then looked back at them, his gaze lit up with excitement—. So you don't plan on retiring. Well, let the competition begin. Tell me, do you belong to a guild?
King raised his chin proudly.
—We are from the Sovereign Guild, the number one guild.
Liam burst out laughing.
—Hahaha! I understand… Then, when I defeat them, I will go straight to their guild and empty all their treasures.
King with a malicious smile.
—I heard you have world items… and that you own five of them.
Liam stopped laughing, his gaze turning cold.
—So you want my treasures too, huh?
King raised his arm and, with a defiant smile, shouted:
—When I kill you, all those items will be mine!
Liam looked at him, letting out a laugh that echoed across the field.
—I'll be waiting for you, King . Hahaha!
Rey looked at the players surrounding Liam, raising her voice with authority.
—It's time to fight! We're outnumbered, so use everything you've got. This will be the battle of the strongest player against the most powerful guild.
She turned to Liam and looked him in the eyes.
—Don't disappoint me, Anonymous.
Meanwhile, in the real world, Liam, the player behind the avatar, smiled amusedly as he anticipated the intensity of the fight.
In-game, Rey lowered her arm, giving the signal. In an instant, players on all sides charged at Liam at an impressive speed, activating their skills and unleashing a wave of energy around them.
Liam spread his arms and spoke with amusement in his voice:
—Power of the Abyss King: World Interception! Monsters of the abyss, destroy everything!
At that moment, a massive red crack opened up behind Liam, followed by several more that began to appear in the air, stretching towards the sky. Instantly, a wave of expansion was released from Liam, pushing all the approaching players back, forcing them to retreat.
From the cracks, creatures emerged, each one more terrifying than the last, like monsters straight out of the darkest nightmares. Without wasting any time, the monsters launched themselves towards the players with unstoppable force.
The players, surprised by the appearance of these beings, took a step back. One of them exclaimed:
—These monsters don't go below level 90! What is this?
Before he could react, a creature armed with a huge mallet crushed him, making him disappear in a shower of pixels. The scene left the other players stunned, but with no choice, they began to fight with all their might, unleashing absolute chaos.
The combat between the players and the monsters intensified, and the sound of explosions filled the place with a deafening "BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! " The war echoed throughout the forest, turning the countryside into a landscape of destruction.
Even in the air, explosions could be seen, as players with flight spells tried to confront the creatures in the sky. The battle was fierce, and every corner of the place vibrated with the echo of the war between players and monsters from the abyss.
Rey watched the chaotic scene from the sky, awed by the spectacle.
—It's not for nothing that he's the strongest player... capable of summoning an army to fight against players —he commented with a mixture of astonishment and laziness.
At that moment, Liam, from the ground, spread his imposing wings and began to ascend, rising quickly until he was a little higher than Rey. He looked at him with a challenging smile and said in a mocking tone:
—Now that the weak are busy fighting... isn't it time to begin our fight?
Rey looked up at Liam, irritated by his provocation, while below the chaos between players and monsters continued.
"I'll be enough to finish you off," he said in a firm voice, his eyes fixed on Liam.
Liam, with a mischievous smile, replied with amusement:
—Come, if you have the confidence.
The hero, fueled by his arrogance, leapt from the energy platform and appeared in front of Liam in the blink of an eye, launching a well-aimed stab at his opponent. But before he could reach his target, Liam reacted quickly, kicking the hero in the stomach, sending him flying to the ground with a thunderous BOOM!
Liam, watching the hero fall, crossed his arms and spoke with amusement:
—So, who's next?
King, glancing sideways at the ground where the spear-wielding hero had fallen, frowned and spoke in a stern tone:
"That idiot…" he looked up at Liam. "We'll all fight at the same time. It'll be faster and more effective."
The heroes nodded in unison and prepared themselves, each taking a combat stance to face Liam. At that very moment, the spear hero appeared again, flying towards the same height as Liam.
"Damn it!" he screamed, his eyes filled with rage.
Liam, watching the hero, let out an amused laugh as he replied:
—Wow, you're alive? Not bad.
King spoke with determination:
—It's time to end this, come on!
With impressive speed, Rey stepped off the step into the air and appeared in front of Liam. Without giving him time to react, she threw a punch straight at him, causing Liam to be sent hurtling towards the ground, destroying several trees in his path. Finally, Liam ended up crashing into the base of a mountain, causing a deafening roar: BOOM! Raising a cloud of dust.
The heroes charged forward, appearing as nothing more than lines of light, each one one color.
When the cloud of dust cleared, Liam stood with his forearms raised, he had covered himself from Rey's punch. At that moment, from the sky, the heroine of the bow shouted:
—Divine arrow!
The heroine released her bowstring and an energy arrow shot towards Liam at full speed. When the arrow arrived, it exploded, creating a ball of energy that raised wind all over the place.
From higher up in the sky, another voice was heard:
—Perfect sun, second!
It was Liam. A white sun, the size of a soccer ball, appeared in his hand, illuminating the entire place. He then threw it towards the heroes with his hand, reaching them and causing the sun to explode, making another roar: BOOM! Creating another dome of energy with a much larger shockwave than before and with scorching heat.
At that moment, the energy dome was split in two, while the sword hero did so while inside the dome.
The moment the dome was split open, the heroine of magic screamed:
—Beginning Ray, Level 5!
Several magic circles appeared in front of her, one on top of the other, taking on a colossal size, and a blue ray shot out towards Liam.
Liam shouted, with amusement:
—Hahaha, how funny, Dark Breath!
He opened his mouth and a red and black beam shot out, colliding with the mage's beam, causing another deafening roar: BOOM! The collision of both forces generated a dome of black energy, causing an even greater expansion wave.
Liam closed his mouth and said with amusement:
— Hahaha, this is so funny. It's been a while since I've had a serious fight... hahaha.
At that moment, a large spear pierced the dark energy dome, destroying it completely. From the heroes' place, the spear hero shouted:
—Spear of destruction, pierce my enemy!
The spear continued on its way, heading quickly towards Liam. However, Liam reacted quickly and shouted:
—Dragon Hand!
Immediately, a huge dragon hand formed from black and red energy appeared, grabbing the edge of the spear and stopping its advance with unstoppable force.
The spear hero clicked his tongue, visibly frustrated, and spoke:
—Come back!
He reached out and the spear began to shrink, quickly returning to its hilt. The dragon claw disappeared into the air.
Liam spread his wings, soaring into the skies and flying towards the heroes. However, before he could act, the king appeared beside Liam, launching a direct attack. Liam quickly dodged the blow, and with a swift movement, launched his own attack, striking the king and pushing him back with a brutal impact.
Rey quickly recomposed herself and, with fury, charged towards Liam again. Meanwhile, the Bow Hero, the Magic Hero, and the Summoning Hero retreated a few meters, leaving the other close combat heroes to handle the melee. The remaining heroes attacked with everything they had, while the Dagger Hero disappeared into a shadow, ready to strike from the shadows.
The fight between Liam and Rey raged on, their kicks and punches flying at superhuman speed. At that moment, the heroes joined the battle, pressing Liam with a joint assault. The combined strength of the heroes forced Liam down to the ground, where an intense fight began among the trees.
They began to move quickly, each blow resounding with a thunderous sound, destroying the trees in their path. The fight intensified and they ascended towards the top of the mountain, destroying parts of it as they exchanged blows. They did not stop there; the speed increased, taking the fight to a hill that collapsed under the force of their attacks. After this, they returned to the plain and, in a clash of fists between Rey and Liam, they caused a shockwave that destroyed everything around them.
Liam spoke with amusement:
—Hahaha! You're not the only one with a kind of monk.
The fight continued, and all that could be seen were flashes of energy from each other between the hills, which were destroyed by each clash of power.
Meanwhile, elsewhere on the battlefield, explosions echoed everywhere—boom, boom, boom!—as players engaged in battle against the monsters of the abyss. On an elevated area, the players' general, a warrior in golden armor and carrying a large heavy shield, watched the scene. From his position, he gave precise orders on how to finish off the monsters, directing his allies strategically to clear the area so he could go support his guild leader.
Another player, equipped with a bow and light archer armor, fired arrows at the monsters as he spoke:
—Can you see that fight? They move at an incredible speed.
The commander looked up and observed the fierce battle between the heroes and the nameless dragon, known only by that name. Then he spoke:
—Their power is immense. We have to finish off these beasts and join them to support them.
"You're right," the archer replied, still firing, "but... how come they're so strong? I thought the maximum level was 100."
The commander replied firmly:
—The level they have is not simply level 100.
The archer became serious and asked:
—What do you mean by that?
The commander shouted a few orders across the battlefield before turning to the archer and replying:
—They have already reached the "100th level". Of the ten people who managed to reach that level, nine are right there. They are the only ones in the world who have achieved such power.
The archer, astonished, exclaimed:
—What? They have level 100mas? I thought only world bosses could reach that level and no player could have it.
"That's true," the commander confirmed. "The game creators had no intention of allowing it, as they believed that no player could obtain it. But two years ago, one of them broke that barrier. When the first player reached level 100, his stats were already so high that that level was meaningless. The game creators thought about leaving it like that, but when that player's stats surpassed the intended standards, they were eventually forced to create the 100th level."
The archer, surprised, commented:
—Are you saying that a player broke the game's level barrier?
The commander nodded.
—That's right. That player is the same dragon our guild leaders are fighting right now.
"So he's the one who broke the limit?" the archer said, still in disbelief. "But, to defeat world bosses that are level 100+, you need at least a hundred players, all level 100 and with the best equipment possible."
"It is just as you say," the commander replied, his expression serious. "Those guys have the ability to defeat world bosses alone."
The archer, even more surprised, muttered:
—They are dangerous… I wonder how high a person's stats must be to reach that level.
The commander was about to speak when suddenly, powerful rumbles were heard in the distance: BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Looking up quickly, he saw that the battle between the heroes, Rey and the dragon was approaching at full speed. Only flashes of light and clashes of energy in constant motion could be distinguished.
With his eyes wide open, the commander shouted to his players:
—Protect yourselves!
But the warning came too late. Fighters appeared in the middle of the scene, destroying everything in their path. Monsters and players were disintegrated into pixels, while others flew in all directions. The battle escalated until it reached the commander's position, and a clash of power launched him into the air.
Rey and the dragon had clashed fists, while the other heroes kept pace at an astonishing speed. Liam began to ascend into the sky, releasing his energy in flashes of red and black, while the heroes did the same, reaching the peak of their power and ascending in the form of comets of pure energy. In the sky, the clashes of power resonated without ceasing.
Meanwhile, on the ground, the battlefield was completely devastated. The few remaining players were barely standing, their HP on the verge of defeat. The commander, trapped under some fallen trees, pushed aside the rubble with his arms and looked at the chaos around him: flames everywhere and shattered trees.
She raised her head and stared at the battle taking place in the sky. Liam was moving at full speed, skillfully dodging his opponents' attacks. From another position in the air, the heroine of the bow was firing arrows relentlessly, each one full of energy. Liam dodged each arrow, and then, the heroine of magic shouted:
—Top-level spell, a thousand fireballs from the fire dragons!
Behind her, several large magic circles appeared, from which emerged dragon heads, all ready to launch their attack. Liam, seeing the threat, increased his speed, ascending even higher into the sky. The heroes following him stopped dead in their tracks as the mage cast her spell. The dragon heads opened their jaws, launching fireballs at an impressive speed. Liam dodged the first fireball with a quick movement of his head, and it passed by, ascending further and exploding into a large ball of energy that lit up the sky with a deafening roar: BOOM! The shockwave rumbled around them.
Liam glanced up, realizing the impending danger. Then he spread his arms and, in a powerful voice, shouted:
—Super Spell: Starfall!
Small red and green spheres began to appear around him. Waving his hands, Liam directed millions of these spheres towards the fireballs coming in his direction. When they collided, the entire sky lit up with a series of explosions, causing a chaotic display of flashes that covered the entire horizon.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Impacts shook the air, with fireballs and energy spheres colliding, lighting up the sky and unleashing shockwaves that rumbled everywhere, plunging the battlefield into overwhelming chaos.
Liam, high up in the clouds, watched with satisfaction as the explosions continued below him. With a mocking smile, he muttered:
—You want chaos? Haha… you'll have it. Abyss King Skill: Eye of the Abyss, show yourself!
Immediately, a huge dimensional rift appeared in the sky, spreading like an ominous shadow that covered the entire firmament. The heroes were stunned by the scene, while Rey warned:
—Brace for impact.
The heroine of magic stopped channeling mana into her attack and shouted:
-Barrier!
King quickly approached and added his power:
-Barrier!
The other heroes directed their mana to reinforce the protection, creating a solid, glowing barrier that surrounded everyone. In the center of the rift, an eye of colossal dimensions opened, covering the entire sky with its relentless gaze. The eye fixed on the heroes, and a red beam came out of it that brutally impacted the barrier. The collision unleashed a monumental explosion that shook heaven and earth, illuminating everything with a blinding flash and a deafening roar:
—BOOM!
From above, Liam let out a laugh filled with amusement and mischief, enjoying the chaos he had unleashed.
- Ha ha ha !
The eye beam continued to fire relentlessly, striking the barrier as the heroes resisted with all their might. Even so, each one's HP was rapidly dropping. Rey, with an urgent tone, shouted towards the sword hero:
—Use your attack now!
The sword hero nodded and declared with determination:
—Special ability: Sword of Justice, finish my enemy!
From high above, far beyond the rift, a gigantic golden energy sword appeared, held by an imposing hand that split the clouds around it, generating a shockwave. Liam, noticing the descending sword, turned around and, surprised but amused, muttered:
-Shit…
The sword fell with tremendous force, impacting the crack from below and destroying it completely. A deafening explosion echoed throughout the battlefield:
—BOOM!
Liam was launched towards the ground at full speed, crashing hard and causing another rumble as dust and debris flew up:
—Boom !
The heroes watched expectantly as the cloud of dust slowly dissipated. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the rubble: it was Liam, walking towards them calmly, his wings still spread and his tail snaking in slight amusement. With a deep, mocking laugh, he said:
—Hahaha, that wasn't bad at all! Hahaha!
The bow heroine, frowning, muttered in frustration:
—Damn, we didn't manage to finish him off...
Rey looked at Liam, bewildered, and commented:
—How much HP does he have to withstand that attack?
The sword hero sighed and said:
—My special attack can only be used once a day... I won't be able to repeat it.
As Liam continued forward, with a confident smile, he suddenly stopped, looking at the heroes with a surprised expression.
— Hmm ... Weren't there eight of them? —he muttered, noticing that he saw only seven. In that instant, a sharp flash cut through the air and, in the blink of an eye, Liam's arm was severed.
Liam stepped back, surprised, as the dagger hero appeared at his side, dagger already extended. With a look that was somewhere between amused and annoyed, Liam thought:
—So you're a murderer... Hahaha, damn it.
In the blink of an eye, Liam spread his wings and disappeared from the assassin's sight, reappearing immediately behind him. Without giving him time to react, he muttered:
—You should have aimed for the head.
He grabbed the assassin's head and slammed him into the ground, causing a deafening crash. BOOM! But the agile assassin quickly broke free from his grip and slashed Liam's neck with his dagger. Liam intercepted with his one hand at the last moment, grabbing it tightly and pulling him up. The assassin was left suspended in the air, at the mercy of his enemy.
With a dangerous smile, Liam placed his fist on the assassin's chest and muttered:
—Flea Fist.
At that instant, a devastating blow pierced the assassin's chest, projecting a shockwave that destroyed the remains of trees and anything in its path. The assassin was sent flying, crashing into the trees that were still standing and causing another rumble. BOOM!
Liam watched it fall into the distance, shaking his head with a mixture of satisfaction and contempt.
Liam took a few steps forward, picking up his own arm from the ground. Holding it calmly, he watched as it began to disintegrate into pixels, then snapped it back into place. Within seconds, the wound began to slowly close, restoring his arm as if it had never been cut. Simultaneously, his HP, which had been greatly reduced after the dagger hero's attack, began to regenerate.
With a cocky, defiant grin, Liam looked up at the heroes watching him from a distance, tense and surprised, and declared mockingly:
—Did you think it was that easy? Hahaha, you're going to have to try a lot harder than that if you want to beat me.
From the rubble, the dagger hero emerged, shaking off the dust, and in one leap he reached his companions. Rey, with a serious look, looked at Liam and addressed his team:
—We have no choice. We'll use that item. Our HP has dropped by more than half, while Anonymous's has barely reached half... we have no chance of winning this way.
The heroes exchanged surprised glances, but then nodded silently. The decision was made. Rey smiled and, with determination, shouted:
—It's time to finish him off. —Then he raised his voice towards Liam. —You certainly deserve the title of the strongest; I even feel that, in a one-on-one fight, I couldn't face you.
Liam watched them with a smile and replied:
—Why don't you retire, King? It would be a shame if they lost their accounts in this place. I know how much effort it takes to become so powerful in this game.
King, with a determined expression, spoke firmly:
"Don't insult this fight. Besides, we will win." He sighed lightly before adding. "There's a rumor going around that you have several world items."
Liam was slightly surprised, but he remained calm and replied in a confident tone:
—I have 5 world items, is that what you wanted to know?
Rey looked at him with a slight smile and continued:
—You're amazing. There are only 200 of these items in the entire game, and you have five. Even the 15th ranked guild only has five.
Liam, still with his relaxed attitude, answered with amusement:
—That number five will soon increase when I defeat all of you and take your guild's items.
Rey moved her hand with a determined intention and took out a golden medallion from her inventory, which seemed to have silver highlights that reflected the light in a captivating way. Firmly, she raised it and said:
—This medallion is a world item.
Liam, though surprised, became more serious and prepared his stance. He knew that this could change the course of the battle.
King continued speaking, his tone denoting knowledge and strategy:
—This world item is quite interesting. It's perfect for a strong group, but useless for a weak group.
King extended his hand forward, holding the medallion, and with a determined look, he ordered:
—Activate world item. The path to becoming the strongest.
The medallion began to glow brightly, and suddenly split into fragments that scattered through the air. Each fragment began to take its place, and immediately, a huge shield made of pure energy appeared. The fragments spread around the shield, and from it, huge chains emerged that stuck into the chests of each of the heroes. Finally, another chain extended towards Rey, sticking into her chest.
The atmosphere grew heavier, and the energy of the world item began to envelop everyone.
King stared at him and spoke in a threatening tone:
—I hope you're ready, Liam. This place will be the last thing you see.
Liam smiled, amusement in his eyes.
—I see that this item is interesting. But tell me, will it be enough?
Rey smiled confidently and explained:
—This item allows me to borrow my companions' classes, titles, and stats.
Liam raised an eyebrow in surprise and laughed mockingly.
—Show what you're capable of, hahaha!
Rey braced herself, raising the medallion with determination.
—Second phase... —he declared forcefully.
At that instant, a powerful shockwave emanated from Rey, forcing Liam to shield himself with his forearms as a violent wind raged around them. A golden light enveloped Rey, transforming him into a towering avatar of golden energy that radiated power. Liam narrowed his eyes, momentarily blinded by the intensity of the light. When the brightness diminished, the world item returned to normal, and Rey caught the medallion with a steady hand. Her eyes now glowed with golden flames while her golden hair was filled with golden energy.
Liam smiled widely, laughing with excitement.
—Hahaha! Now this is going to be interesting.
Behind Rey, the heroes began to disappear into particles of light, leaving Rey alone facing Liam.
Liam watched him with a mix of intrigue and surprise.
—Did you just absorb your companions?
Rey nodded with an unperturbed look.
"They're fine. They just won't appear in the game until the item's effect ends… or I'm defeated," Rey said, with a determined look.
Liam smiled provocatively.
—So now that you're in that state, you think you can do anything? Even with the heroes at your side, you couldn't defeat me. Now tell me, what will you do when you're alone?
Rey closed his eyes, taking a moment to concentrate, and then took a firm step. As he did, the ground beneath him cracked, leaving a deep fissure around him. He stared at it intently.
—Why don't we put it to the test?
Liam was surprised, and then laughed heartily.
—Hahaha! Entertain me.
Rey began to rise slowly, floating in the air, while a golden energy enveloped him more and more tightly. With a stern expression, he declared:
—New title ability… King of Heroes, Perfect King!
The King's golden energy took form, and from his aura emerged a gigantic golden figure. The colossal entity looked like an ancient warrior, wearing a crown and a flowing cape. When the figure's feet touched the ground, a rumbling sound echoed out— BOOM ! — shaking the battlefield. The King, positioned within the being at the head, slightly shifted his body, and the golden entity accurately replicated his movements, unsheathing a gigantic sword that flashed in a mix of vibrant colors.
Liam watched, enthralled and with a defiant smile.
"Those colors…" he muttered to himself, noticing the hues that reflected the essence of each hero who had been absorbed. "So this is the true manifestation of your companions, huh? Interesting… I wonder what you'll be capable of with this."
The King looked at Liam with unwavering seriousness and, without saying a word, swung his gigantic sword in a horizontal slash straight at him. Liam, sensing the approaching devastating energy, barely managed to dodge the blow, darting to the side at full speed. However, the impact of the attack was overwhelming: all the trees in the path of the slash were reduced to splinters, and the mountains behind Liam burst into rock fragments, creating a deafening explosion — BOOM!
Lightning bolts began to fall from the sky, as if the world itself was responding to the immense power of the blow. The attack had generated such intensity that a thick cloud of dust rose, enveloping the battlefield in a dense grey mist that completely obscured the view.
Through the cloud of dust, a towering figure began to materialize in the air. Liam, with a reckless grin that mixed surprise and amusement, murmured:
— Hahahaha … This is going to be fun.
Despite dodging the blow, his HP began to rapidly decrease, as if the energy of the attack had somehow reached him. Showing no concern, but rather excitement, Liam declared:
—You're amazing, Rey. You're the first person who'll see me like this.
Rey, looking through the cloud of dust, thought in amazement, "Is he still alive? This guy is really tough."
Inside the cloud, Liam spread his arms and, in a deep, resonant tone, announced:
—Transformation of the Primordial Dragon of Calamity and Destruction.
Liam's body began to transform, expanding to colossal dimensions. Dark scales, gleaming like burnished metal, covered his skin, and beneath them, a lake of living magma seemed to move , just like the markings he had all over his body. Sharp claws emerged from his hands, a towering tail formed, and his wings spread with overwhelming strength and majesty, creating an ominous shadow on the battlefield. Within seconds, his size rivaled the golden energy being Rey had summoned.
Liam shifted his body, and as he flapped his massive wings, the cloud of dust completely dissipated, revealing his new form. Rey watched in awe, not looking away, and adjusted her stance, preparing for what was coming.
Liam, with amusement and a defiant tone, stated:
—Now that we both have our HP restored… let's start the second round.
Rey unleashed a golden energy slash with her sword, launching a powerful attack towards Liam. Liam quickly reacted, deploying the blades on his forearms. With a quick movement, he made two red and black slashes that shot towards the hero's slash. The two attacks collided in the air with a deafening boom! BOOM!, generating a brutal force that shook the entire place. Both energies fought to dominate each other, creating a tense and powerful atmosphere.
All the debris was flying from the clash of the force of both attacks. Until both attacks disappeared completely.
Liam spread his wings and flew into the sky, and as he rose, he shouted, "Dark Breath!" A beam of energy shot out of Liam's mouth, speeding towards the king.
Rey quickly said, "Hero's Thrust!" and sent her sword slashing towards the energy beam. The slash split the beam into several smaller beams that destroyed everything around them with several explosions. Boom ! Boom ! Boom !
Liam closed his mouth and then flew towards the king at full speed, appearing in front of him as he sent out his blade.
The king, with his sword, stopped the attack, making a clash so powerful that the entire earth shook and lightning fell from the sky from the clash of power.
The fight continued, with Liam using his forearm blades, seeking to finish off his enemy. Each attack was more ferocious than the last, while Rey responded with her sword, attacking with precision and tremendous force.
Each clash of their forces caused the earth to tremble, as if the ground itself was about to give way. The sky darkened, rumbling with the echoes of their attacks, as the energy of both collided in explosions of light and darkness, causing everything around them to disintegrate.
Liam spread his wings and soared back into the sky, while the King, determined, began to fly towards him, unleashing another series of attacks. The clashes between their forces reverberated throughout space, scattering the clouds and disintegrating everything around them with each collision.
Liam, sensing the rise of his power, accelerated his speed and positioned himself at a height even greater than that of the King. With a defiant smile, he raised his head and, in a booming voice, shouted:
—Dragon's unique ability! Power of Destruction!
At that moment, a dark and devastating energy began to emanate from Liam. He gathered his hands and tail together, and a black hole formed in the center. Liam grabbed it with his hand and threw it straight towards Rey.
Rey tried to retreat, but the black hole appeared in front of him, forcing him to protect himself with his sword, using it as a shield. However, the hole touched him and immediately absorbed him, making a deafening roar as it hit the ground.
Rey, shocked, found himself completely crushed by the force of the black hole. From above, Liam uttered a single word:
—Absorption and Expansion!
The black hole expanded at breakneck speed, destroying everything around it. The boom of the explosion reverberated like thunder, BOOM! The destructive energy wiped out everything that remained, and the power of the attack was felt miles away. Meanwhile, Liam watched the devastation from the sky with a smile of amusement on his face.
Liam spoke again, his voice cold and defiant:
—Expulsion and desertion!
The black hole began to self-absorb, and then, with even greater force, it exploded again, creating an even louder and more destructive rumble: BOOOOOOOOOOOO! The explosion expelled everything it had absorbed, forming a dome of energy so imposing that its white glow could be seen even from nearby cities.
The shockwave from the explosion pushed Liam back, but he protected himself with his forearms, resisting the force of the impact while his figure remained firm in the air.
When the explosion ended, the energy disappeared as quickly as it had come, absorbing into nothingness and leaving behind only a dense cloud of dust that covered the landscape, while a huge crater marked the devastated ground.
Liam began to slowly descend, keeping his guard up. As he descended, he thought to himself: That attack is the strongest I have when I gather everything I am... I only need one more, and my arsenal will be exhausted.
Suddenly, a voice echoed from the center of the crater, unmistakable and full of power:
—Divine Cut of the Perfect Hero!
Liam stopped dead in his tracks, feeling the change in the atmosphere. From the cloud of dust, a slash of energy shot towards him, slicing the sky in two. The explosion of energy caused a burst of wind, BOOM!, that shook everything around him, creating a destructive wave that split the air.
The cloud of dust slowly dissipated, revealing Rey's figure. Her colossal golden representation now looked tiny in the crater left by the explosion. However, her body was severely damaged; one of her arms had completely disappeared, and the golden energy surrounding her was slowly fading away, like a flame that is extinguished.
King, breathing heavily, managed to articulate with difficulty:
—Damn... all my MP went in that attack... and... my HP is gone now. That was... difficult. At least... I was able to finish it.
At that moment, a voice resounded from slightly higher than the king:
—Who did you just defeat, King?
Rey raised her head and, with great effort, looked at Liam. He was back in his base form, missing a leg, an arm, and one of his wings. Despite his destroyed appearance, his eyes shone with an unwavering intensity.
Liam, with a defiant smile, spoke:
—That attack... almost finished me, but I had to revert to my first form to dodge it.
Liam extended his arm, palm facing Rey.
—This is the end, King.
Rey tried to move his golden representation, but he couldn't. He had no MP left to activate it. He was completely exhausted.
Liam, without losing his cool demeanor, spoke with a hint of respect:
—It was a pleasure fighting you. It was a good fight.
Liam opened his mouth slightly and closed it tightly, his palm turning into a fist clenched in determination.
Suddenly, the skies, which had been clear before, changed color, turning red and dark. The air tensed, and everything went dark, as if the world itself was witnessing the end of a titanic battle.
Cracks began to appear everywhere, revealing sharp eyes and teeth protruding from them, as if something monstrous was awakening from deep within the earth.
In that instant, Rey was devoured in half, along with his golden representation, absorbed by a dark and overwhelming force. The wind, driven by the cataclysmic explosion, completely dissipated the cloud of dust, leaving the battlefield in an eerie stillness.
When the king was completely devoured, the sky returned to normal, regaining its natural color, and calm settled in the air. Liam slowly descended, his wings, arm, and leg regenerating rapidly. He landed on the ground, paused for a moment, and bent down to pick up a medallion that had been left behind: the world item, the path to becoming the strongest.
Liam looked at the medallion with a look of interest, thoughtful. This is the only object they left behind... He thought as he turned it over in his hands. He glanced around at the devastation left by the battle, and muttered:
—All the items were destroyed by the battle... The only thing that survived was the world item.
He put the medallion into his inventory, feeling its symbolic weight, and then, with a smile on his face, he pulled out a golden key from the same inventory.
"It's time to visit the Sovereign Guild," he said, his eyes shining with anticipation for what was to come.
Liam, with the golden key in his hand, turned it as if he were opening a door. Immediately, a golden door began to form in the air in front of him, connecting to the key he held. With a confident smile, Liam said:
—World item, door to the worlds.
The door materialized completely, and Liam, after observing for a moment, said with determination:
—Take me to the sovereign guild.
He put the key into his inventory and, without hesitation, walked through the door. In the blink of an eye, he left the battlefield behind.
On the other side of the door, Liam found himself in a stunning landscape: the World of the Gods, Ásbyrgi . Everything was illuminated by a bright, warm light, and a deep peace was in the air. Liam took a few steps forward and, hearing the sound of the door closing behind him, looked around.
He thought about where the guild was and, after a few moments of reflection, he looked up at the sky, where he saw a floating island in the distance.
"There's the guild..." he murmured, recognizing the structure that stood out in the distance.
A confident smile appeared on his face. Without wasting any time, he spread his wings and began to fly towards the island.
When he arrived, the NPCs guarding him immediately attacked him, but Liam easily devoured them, absorbing their energy effortlessly. He advanced into the guild, destroying everything in his path: players, NPCs created by other players, everything in his path was destroyed and absorbed, until he seized all the resources of the sovereign guild.
After a while, Liam gathered all the items from the World-level Sovereign Guild, about ten in total. With his mission accomplished, he left the guild, and the island began to slowly fall from the sky.
Liam watched from above, enjoying the destruction, his gaze filled with satisfaction and amusement.
Looking through his inventory, Liam felt a great sense of satisfaction. As he reached the bottom of the list, he looked at his world items and thought, "I thought we'd have more items of this level with us being the top guild, but oh well... the game has only been around for three years. Still, with these items I'm already at fifteen. Hahaha. Time to head to a town and set up my appearance."
Liam took a world item, the "Keys of the Worlds." He went through the usual process and said:
—Take me to the world of Helheim , main city.
He then put the key into his inventory and walked through the gate, arriving at the outskirts of the main city of Helheim . Liam began walking, entering the city and heading to an inn. He paid for a room, was given the key, and entered. After closing the door, he sat down on the bed.
At that moment, a screen appeared in front of Liam displaying his attributes. He noticed that he had absorbed some of the king's attributes and smiled. He also looked at the title tab, and saw that the title of the King of the Abyss had changed; it was now "King of the Abyss and the World." An anime-style drop appeared on Liam's head, as he sarcastically thought: What a big change... but oh well.
Liam closed his tabs and then took out the silver cube from his inventory, made up of smaller cubes that were constantly moving. It was the user customization change item. Liam spoke:
—Get active!
The cube began to move erratically until it expanded, covering the entire room. Everything around him had changed; he was now inside the cube, standing, and a new screen appeared in front of him, allowing him to customize every aspect of his character.
Liam scrolled through the screen and looked at every little detail, from her hair style to how she wanted her nails and skin to look.
— Hmm , how do I set up my user? —he muttered—. Should I talk to Six? Hmm , I don't think so… I'd better do it alone or… haha, I have an idea!
He opened his inventory and pulled out a coin with a cross engraved in the center. Liam spoke:
—Use bargaining chips, call an administrator.
At that instant, time seemed to freeze and a dimensional portal appeared. From it emerged a figure covered in a white robe and hood, who spoke:
—Have you called an administrator, player?
"That's right," Liam replied.
The manager looked at him and exclaimed:
—Wait… you are… I see. What do you need me for?
Liam explained:
—I want you to help me set up my character. I found the User Customization Change Cube.
The manager sighed:
—You called me for this? You know that calling an administrator is a big deal, and that these exchange coins are even rarer than world items.
Liam smiled.
—I know, although they say it's hard to get a coin, the rules for asking for something are a pain, so I want to spend it right now.
The manager closed his eyes and nodded lazily, then walked over to Liam and asked:
—What do you want your character to be like?
Liam replied:
—My current height is 1.95 meters; I want to maintain that same height.
The administrator nodded and began adjusting the screens.
Liam thought, "If I remember correctly, Ainz was about 2 meters tall… well, I'll stick with mine."
Liam continued:
—Now I'll tell you everything. I want my hair slicked back with red streaks and a little long. Add the horns of my dragon form and the dragon eyes. The appearance… I want it to be human, but with the dragon markings on my human body. I'd like to look a little muscular, so I'll leave the rest to you.
The administrator nodded and, after completing the transformation, said:
—It's all done. I hope you enjoy it, Narkhan, the most powerful player.
Then the admin disappeared in golden pixels.
Liam smiled and walked over to the appearance-changing console. On the screen, a message appeared:
"Do you wish to change your appearance? Once changed, you will receive a new skill: Dragon Transformation, Base Form."
Below the message were the options to Accept and Deny. Without hesitation, Liam selected Accept, and immediately, his body suddenly changed. The cube surrounding the room was absorbed into his body.
Liam examined his new appearance: on several parts of his body, dragon scales appeared, and the markings he had in his dragon form were now black in his human form. He was completely naked and decided to check his condition.
"Status, skills," he said, and a screen appeared showing his skills.
Liam smiled as he saw the Dragon Transformation skill. He closed the screen and from his inventory equipped his new look: a sleek black suit with a matching tie and red shirt, black gloves with small diamond-shaped knuckle embellishments, and an ankle-length black cape with golden iron or gold shoulder pads and a black fur collar. Attached to the cape
Liam looked at his body with satisfaction and smiled.
"This is a divine-level set," he muttered, touching one of his horns.
He looked at every detail of his new appearance, impressed by the majesty and power it reflected. The scales, the details in his clothes, the mask with dragon teeth... everything fit perfectly into his image. Then, he thought about his next step.
—Not bad at all, my structure is similar to Touch Me's hahaha. But anyway, it's time to meet with the guild.
With determination, Liam adjusted the cloak on his shoulders, checked his inventory, and stepped outside. He walked through the streets until he left the city, and as he made his way through the trees, he spoke:
—Send message to Six. Request coordinates to get to the guild.
Elsewhere, in a dark, thick swamp, a figure waited at the entrance, and the sound of a bell rang softly in the air. It was Six, who received Liam's message. She read the request and, without delay, sent the exact coordinates of the guild's location.
A few minutes later, Liam arrived at the imposing place: the Great Tomb of Nazarick. He walked through the forest, observing the dark and damp landscape that surrounded him, with stagnant waters from the swamp covering almost everything except the center, where the entrance to the tomb was located.
Liam said:
—Activate transformation skill: wings.
A pair of towering dragon wings appeared behind him. With a thoughtful smile, he muttered:
—So I can activate specific parts... interesting.
He spread his wings and, with a strong flap of his wings, flew to the entrance. When he landed, a voice greeted him:
—Mr. Narkhan, welcome.
Liam turned his head and replied:
—Six, sorry for the delay, I was... busy.
"Don't worry," Six replied, "the guild representatives are waiting for you."
With a touch of fun, Liam added:
—Don't talk to me like that, they might misinterpret it.
Six nodded without saying anything else and continued to lead Liam through the dungeon corridors. As they walked, Liam asked:
—How many floors do they have here?
"There are only six floors right now," Six replied, "we haven't finished setting up the dungeon completely yet."
"I see," Liam said, thinking to himself that they hadn't even rebuilt the entire dungeon. Then he added, "What did you tell them about me, Six?"
—I told them that you wanted to join the guild, that you are the strongest player in Yggdrasil and the owner of the pure air company.
—I understand. I hope you accept me naturally and don't feel pressured by those titles.
With a hint of mockery, Six replied:
—Don't worry, I also told them about your personality.
Liam looked at her, smiling.
—I see you're having fun. Keep it up, Six.
-I understand.
After a while, they came to a large door. Six opened it and entered, and Liam followed her. The room contained a round table with several seats, although the decor was rather simple. Inside the room, several players were already seated, and they all turned to look at Liam.
Liam stopped and looked at them, noticing that each of them was equipped with high-level weaponry and that they were level 100. Liam's inner excitement grew as he realized that he was standing in front of characters he knew well from the series.
The guild leader, Momonga, broke the silence:
—Is that him, Six?
Six sat in his chair and replied:
—That's right, it's him.
Momonga turned his gaze towards Liam and asked:
—Can you tell us your name?
Liam snapped out of his thoughts, opened his status, turned off the option to hide his name, and replied:
—My name is Narkhan.
Ulbert looked at him curiously and asked:
—I heard you are from the dragon race. Why do you look like this?
"I used an item to permanently change my appearance before coming here," Liam replied calmly.
Momonga continued:
—Tell me, why do you want to join our guild?
—Six recommended him to me. I've been playing solo for three years, and I also wanted to join a guild that specialized in heteromorphic races like his.
Momonga nodded, thinking.
—I heard that Six is your assistant in real life.
—That's right, she's my assistant.
"I understand. You are useful to society," Momonga said.
Liam smiled, relaxed.
-I hope so.
Momonga added in a serious tone:
—They say you are the strongest player. Our guild is small, and your name could bring us trouble.
Confidently, Liam replied:
"I know the guild is small, but that doesn't mean it's weak." He looked at Touch Me and added, "They have one of the highest level 100 players in their guild; that makes them a target."
Momonga looked at Touch Me and then back at Liam, nodding.
—It's true what you say. We'll watch each other's backs. If you have any problems with another guild in the future, don't hesitate to tell us. Welcome to the guild, Narkhan.
Liam was a little surprised and, after a sigh, he smiled in amusement.
—Hahaha, I thought you wouldn't accept me, but it will be a pleasure to accompany you on your way. Hahaha!
The guild members were perplexed to see Narkhan, aka Liam, suddenly appear next to Momonga, putting his arm around his shoulder as if they were old friends.
"Let's get along, Momonga," Liam said with an amused smile.
Momonga was silent for a few seconds, processing Liam's spontaneity, but eventually responded kindly.
—I hope the same.
From that day on, the strongest player, Narkhan, officially joined the Ainz Ooal guild. Gown . As time went on, his power and reputation grew even further, and his presence in the guild became indispensable. Together with the other members, they raided dungeons, conquered lands, and faced unimaginable challenges. Although crises and battles were constant, Liam always managed to turn each mission into a fun experience, laughing and keeping everyone's spirits high.
Soon, the guild members grew accustomed to his carefree and bold style. He quickly became friends with everyone, but the ones he formed the closest bond with were Momonga and Six. On numerous occasions, they undertook missions together, creating an unbeatable team. The few times Liam worked alone were when the difficulty of the mission was beyond the level of his companions, and even then, he was happy to have a guild he could rely on.
Six years have passed since the creation of the game, and the Ainz Ooal guild Gown rose to the top, earning the title of the strongest guild. It was comprised of 42 members, all renowned for their enormous power and skill. Among them, four players stood out for their level 100s and extraordinary ability: the leader Momonga, the vice leader Six, the invincible warrior Touch Me, and the most powerful player in all of Yggdrasil, Narkhan.
Many guilds joined together to try and defeat them, and many level 100+ players also joined together for the same purpose, but no one could beat them: they were the strongest. Sometimes, even if Momonga and Six were defeated, they could never break through Narkhan's barrier, the one who had destroyed 10 percent of the world of Vanaheim when he fought and defeated the Sovereign guild on his own: the strongest player, Narkhan.
Over the years, the Ainz Ooal Guild Gown established himself as the strongest in Yggdrasil. However, they gradually put aside their battles and began to focus on improving their lair. The Great Tomb of Nazarick expanded, reaching a total of 11 floors: the traditional ten, and an additional one built exclusively by Narkhan himself - he had built that floor alone, having obtained permission from the guild members. In response, the guild leader and vice leader built their residences on the ninth floor.
The years passed by in a flash, and one by one, the guild members left, leaving behind adventures and unforgettable memories. Finally, the day came when Yggdrasil's twelve years had passed. On that occasion, in the great hall of the guild, only four figures remained seated around the 42-seat round table, where once all the seats had been filled.
