Surprised to have woken up in her own bed, Alycia lifted herself up in place to assure herself that her eyes were definitely not deceiving her. Her first thought went to her mother, then to her concerns about what had happened the night before. Getting out of bed she freshened up to relieve the horrid stench dawned to her and dressed into something 'decent'. Afraid to leave her room, she took a deep breathe and slowly pressed down the handle to her door. Walking down the stairs she stopped down the middle, staring at her mother. The back of her head was the only thing visible while her full focus was on sweeping every inch of the living room. "Come here" she started without turning her head, in a demanding yet subtle tone. Without hesitation she rushed to the order and stood at a safe distance beside the coffee table. She continued sweeping, till the last ounce of dust was swept to the kitchen and onto the scoop to dispose of. Strangely Debra returned with the broom and stood face to face with her daughter, partaking in a full on stare contest. Alycia couldn't read what was reflecting from her mothers eyes but the deadly stare only created a bulging heart rate. For what felt like eternity this went on until Debra lunged for Alycia's hair across the table, pulling her onto the carpet where she attacked every inch of Alycia's body, using a broom stick. Blow after blow, the sight of blood didn't stop her until her weapon broke in half. This initiated the kicks launched at Alycia's helpless body lying on the floor as she tried shielding her face with her arms. Straddling over her daughters body she revealed every untouched part

to mark. Alycia made an effort to shield herself only to be bruised, scratched and scarred where she protected. Going as far as to grabbing chunks of hair to bash her head against the floor producing a gush of blood from her nose and a severe dizziness. It felt as though it was never ending. This pain she endured was not new but more extreme, resulting in thee most evident anger she'd ever witnessed from her mother. Feeling like she was knocking on deaths door was when the thrashing finally ceased. Unable to move, she stayed put until she felt the burning sensations of carpet burns then the cold wooden floor and its loose chips stab into her flesh until she was dragged out into the cold hallway. "I will not live with a demon, you better pray that filth away now before I let you back in I wanna hear you beg to God for forgiveness" and with that, Alycia heard the door slam close. She couldn't move an inch so she positioned still on the ground and let every tear drop flow from her orbs before she passed out.
