Chapter 11: chapter 11

Chapter 11 - Vampire Abilities

Quetzal's POV

So I've become a vampire now, it's a strange feeling. I feel much stronger than before, but I have the sensation that I'm not alive. "Congratulations, mother, you're a vampire now," I heard my son's voice. He seemed much more relaxed and happy now. "He must have been very tense these days." "So now that you've become a vampire, I'll give you an overview of your abilities. As I mentioned at the beginning, you have enhanced strength, speed, agility, and regenerative powers. You also have great control over your body and flesh. You can even mimic elements with your body. As you've already noticed, you can suck blood through your blood vessels." Now that I've become a vampire, I can confirm that everything he said was true. I feel like I can command any part of my body to do anything. I glanced towards the two bodies and felt a bit guilty. 'I can't falter now. I must remain firm with my decision.' "But be careful, because the sun isn't the only thing that can hurt you. And there are even more powerful beings than you out there," he warned me as I waited for him to be surprised. Even powerful vampires have stronger enemies than themselves. But how did he know that? Did he encounter a stronger being? "Furthermore, you can now create vampires with your blood. But you need more practice and control over it. For now, you can only create zombies." I was again surprised and impressed by the powers of vampires. But I was even more in awe of my son for creating this species. "Mother, there's something I need to tell you," he said in a strange tone.

Huitzilin's POV

It seems she still hasn't discovered the flesh bud. But she'll find the logo. It's better to inform her myself now rather than let her figure it out on her own. "Mother, there's something I need to tell you," she looked at me with doubt. "What? Is there something you forgot to mention?" she asked me curiously. "No, it's not about vampires. Um, how do I say this. Well, once I erased your memories," I finally said. I noticed she had a look of doubt. "What!? What are you saying, Zee?" she asked in obvious confusion. "There's a bud in your brain. I implanted it in you to erase your memory. Remove it, and you'll get your memories back. I'm sorry, Mother, I didn't know what else to do at that time." After a few seconds, she inserted her fingers into her brain and removed the flesh bud. It was still wriggling in her hands. I felt my cells in the bud and quickly killed them. Soon, they stopped wriggling and were burned. My mother stood rooted to the spot, rooted to the ground, for some time. Soon, a tear drop flowed from her eyes as she had a look of betrayal in her eyes. "Sigh, what's going to happen now?" I thought. Soon she composed herself and said "It's okay. Don't worry, you just did what you believed was right. And honestly, I was very scared of you back then. But now I understand," in a forced smile.

Honestly, I didn't know what to say. I remained silent and soon we left the cave. On the journey back, neither of us spoke anymore. I returned home, and she visited my father's grave again.

The next day, my mother greeted me seemingly normally, but I noticed she was trying very hard to appear normal.

'Only time will solve this problem.'

She came up to me and asked, "I want to train my vampire powers. Can you help me?"

"Yes," I readily accepted, as this allowed us to bond.

At night, we went to a nearby forest to train her vampire powers. I pondered all the insights I had about my body manipulation. She was very talented.

I also noticed that her regeneration and control were greater than those of the test subject I used earlier.

'Someone's potential as a vampire has some relationship with someone's potential before becoming a vampire,' if this theory is true, this means that more skilled humans become more skilled vampires.

The same can also be said for demons. Even among demons, there are those with high potential and those who cannot even use blood demon arts.

She hunted various animals and engaged in combat to become even more familiar with her body.

Now we stood before the corpses of the animals we hunted. Let's try creating zombies.

"Who wouldn't like an army of zombies?"

My mother picked up a monkey corpse and injected a little blood into it. The monkey turned into a zombie as it looked at us with saliva in its mouth.

My mother tried to control it and make it not act on instinct, but she failed. As soon as it attacked her, she absorbed the zombie smoothly and quickly.

She tried the same experiment with many animals and finally gained initial control over the zombies. It was still craving for blood, but its extent was much smaller.

She also scraped different parts of animals, creating strange and bizarre creatures.

'This can definitely be used to scare the enemy,' I thought amusingly. The day would soon dawn, and I didn't want my mother to turn into ashes. Soon we arrived home.

She went to bed quickly as today was very tiring for her. I couldn't sleep.

'There's still some time before sunrise. I could probably take a walk outside.'

I left the tribe and walked along a wide, spacious road used by merchants and cargo dealers. But usually, these roads were very dangerous and many would encounter bandits and lunatics.

The roads were surrounded by forests on both sides. The moonlight radiated over the trees as the light spread illuminating the road. All I could hear was the chirping of insects and the noises made by wild animals.

Soon the light from a fire torch entered my field of vision. I moved in the direction of the light. A group of people was surrounding a lone merchant. 'Why the hell is he traveling at this hour?' I thought, unable to find a reason. These bandits were trying to steal something from the merchant. I focused on listening to what they were saying. "Do you think this gem would be sold for a good price?" "Yes, look how it's glowing. And it still has a magical property. When he allows the fire light to pass through the gem, the floor caught fire. It will definitely fetch a good price."
