Chapter 28: Kokushibo's Training
Kokushibo's POV

A disgusting sound escapes from a cave, within which Kokushibo is training.
'Hmm, if I try this...' Kokushibo is testing the limits of his body, and the sound is coming from every muscle fiber in his arm, which twists abnormally.
'If I pull each one individually, I can tear my arm off,' he thought as each muscle fiber pulled in two directions, as if each fiber were a rope being pulled from both ends until they snapped.
After some time, as if the flesh of his arm were the Red Sea, it split in the middle, exposing the bone. The rebound force of this action would be enough to dislocate the arm of a normal human.
'Hmm, ah, so this is how he does it,' Kokushibo thought, analyzing the rebound force.
He then compressed the muscles of his finger until they became as tough as steel, and then he began twisting the fibers around the last joint of his finger.
The torque force used was absurd. After a few seconds, he reached his maximum, then he snapped his muscle fibers, causing the bone to be propelled at extreme speed.
In this way, Kokushibo replicated Huitzi's finger bullet. Kokushibo was very happy because he had finally found a training path.
This meant a lot to him since he discovered he could no longer use his breathing techniques.
'Sigh, this is harder than the master made it seem, but when will Lord Nosferatu return?' Kokushibo thought as he recalled events from a day ago.
"Come, rest a bit and try to learn the abilities of a vampire's body. I'll go check if we're immune to wisteria."
"Okay," Kokushibo replied.
After Kokushibo revealed the location of the swordsmith village, Huitzi set out at the beginning of the night to a commercial center.
Huitzi returned with a black cloak covering his entire body, leather gloves, and a very large and strange hat, not to mention an unconscious person being dragged beside him.
"Master, if I may, can I know why you're dressed in such a - picturesque way, and who is this?"
"I am a vampire and need to hide from the sun. This is one way to do it," Huitzi said indifferently. "And this guy is a thief I found on my way here."
"But will he be enough to satiate - you?" Kokushibo spoke, his desire to attack the man evident on his face.
"Sigh, no choice. Since you want him so badly, you can eat a little, but remember to keep him alive. I need him alive."
"Yes, Lord Nosferatu," Kokushibo replied. Shortly after, screams were heard. Although the man was initially sleeping, having someone sucking your blood can wake you up easily.
"Hey, that's enough, don't kill him," Huitzi ordered.
"Yes, master," Kokushibo replied promptly and stopped before the man died.
"Kokushibo, where is the demon slayers' headquarters?" Huitzi asked after Kokushibo finished feeding.
Upon obtaining the location of the demon slayers' headquarters, Huitzi left, still dragging the man.
And after that, Kokushibo began his training up to now.
'Regardless of whether this is difficult or not, I need to train to be the strongest and defeat Yoriichi to bring him under the master's command as well,' Kokushibo thought, believing that the master was ordering him to train to capture Yoriichi and acquire a Sun Breathing user.
Kokushibo then continued to train his finger bullet, hitting a target at a long distance.
After three hours of training his aim, Kokushibo thought of a training method using swords.
Crack shaaa
Kokushibo tore out his own femur and began altering it while regenerating.
Cutting off the head and neck of the femur and sharpening only one side of the bone, he used one of his veins, compressing it while strengthening it.
Using his strengthened vein as a mini-drill, he pierced the bottom where the sword hilt would be (specifically the pommel), creating a channel up to the tip of the unsharpened side of the sword, creating a tube-like structure.
Grabbing the sword with his hand, he took a deep breath, inhaling a lot of air, and connected a vein to the hole in the pommel of the sword. He swung the sword towards a wooden trunk, but before striking, Kokushibo sent a large amount of oxygen from his lungs into the hole in the sword using the vein.
The compressed air escaping from the back of the blade accelerated the sword, creating an extremely fast and strong cut.
Kraac
'Damn it, this bone is too weak. I don't think a blacksmith would be willing to make a sword for me, so I'll have to strengthen the bone myself,' Kokushibo thought as he saw his improvised sword break. A vampire's bone is logically stronger than a normal human's, but still not enough.
'And surely the rigidity of the bone was compromised by the sharpening, and perhaps the drilling also had a part to play, but how am I going to solve this?' Kokushibo thought as he looked at the interior of the bone, seeing a cavity filled with a material similar to fat, and in some parts, a noticeable spongy texture, with hard bone being just a thin outer layer.
'If I regenerate this bone, altering its internal structure to be just this hard and compact bone...' He then tore out his femur again and regenerated it, but this time differently. He altered the entire structure, making the bone incredibly stronger.
After removing his modified bone, Kokushibo did the same things as before and tested his cut again, and this time it didn't break.
'Incredible, even without being able to use breathing, this ability is very similar in terms of power, but this technique needs a name,' Kokushibo pondered for a while. 'I got it, Vampiric Breathing First Form: Deadly Wind,' Kokushibo laughed to himself, thinking that old habits die hard.
Author's note: Hello, this chapter was more to explain the workings of the abilities. I don't like stories that just say something works because it does, without explanation, and most of the time, when the protagonist trains, they only write that "he trained from dawn to dusk" without explaining what the training was like.
There will be more chapters like this, more explanatory than having impressive battles.
About the finger bullet, I used the concept of unidirectional wave. If you take both ends of a rope and pull until it breaks, you'll be thrown back because the force contained in the rope is released all at once, something similar to nuclear fission.
