Chapter 46: Lost Library of Cagliostro.

Meanwhile, on Earth-91233, Kang Woo, Makima, and Kobeni stood at the top of the ancient temple known as the Lost Library of Cagliostro. The air was heavy with an otherworldly energy as the trio gazed at the intricate carvings and mysterious glyphs etched into the temple walls.

Kang Woo, without hesitation, extended his hand. Activating his King of Chaos, the reality around them rippled as the floor beneath their feet warped and folded into itself. Within moments, a spiraling staircase materialized, descending into the depths of the temple.

Makima, standing calmly beside Kang Woo, glanced at him with a faint smile. "One of these days, you'll have to teach me how to use reality warping. Especially since I've just gained Magic Creation."

Kang Woo smirked slightly, his tone teasing. "My reality warping isn't mana-based. It's not even magic. It's a completely different power source."

Makima's expression didn't waver. "Then you'll have to teach me that too."

As they descended the stairs, the dim light from above faded, replaced by a faint glow emanating from the bottom of the staircase. They reached the floor below, where a man in long, flowing robes stood waiting, his eyes narrowing as he observed them.

The man's voice echoed in the vast chamber. "Another strange visitor wearing strange clothes."

Makima opened her mouth to respond. " it's modern—"

But Kang Woo raised a hand, cutting her off. "My name is Kang Woo," he said firmly, his crimson eyes glinting. He gestured to the women beside him. "This is Makima. And that's Kobeni. We'd appreciate it if you used our names. We're not here to be addressed as 'Sorcerer Armani' or whatever nickname you might think up, like you do for Stephen."

Kang Woo's gaze remained steady as he spoke, his voice carrying the weight of authority. "You must be O-Bengh. Or is it Cagliostro? They're both your names now, aren't they?" He smirked slightly, his tone turning sharp. "I'm here to borrow the book that contain Gateway to the Dark Dimension."

The robed man, O-Bengh, inclined his head slightly, his expression calm but guarded. "Cagliostro is my title," he corrected. "But you may call me O-Bengh. As for the book you seek... it was borrowed some time ago by Sorcerer Armani ."

Kang Woo's crimson eyes narrowed, his smirk fading into a cold expression. "And you're aware that Strange is on the verge of breaking an absolute point in time?"

O-Bengh's serene demeanor didn't falter. "I am aware."

Makima, standing at Kang Woo's side, folded her arms as her yellow-ringed eyes glinted. "And you're just going to let him do it? Like Kang Woo said, breaking the absolute point in time will kill everyone in this supposedly 'wonderful' universe."

O-Bengh exhaled softly, his gaze flickering with a trace of unease. "I do not condone his actions, but I cannot intervene. The balance of this universe—of all universes—hinges on decisions like his. Meddling with them risks more than you can comprehend."

Kang Woo's gaze remained unyielding as he considered O-Bengh's words. After a moment of silence, he exhaled sharply. ". Makima's quest in her head is optional anyway. Can you show us?"

O-Bengh nodded, his movements fluid and deliberate. "Of course. Follow me."

He gestured toward a large, ancient door, its intricate carvings glowing faintly as it creaked open. Beyond the threshold lay a vast library, its towering shelves lined with countless books. Some were neatly arranged, while others floated mid-air, tethered by chains that clinked faintly in the still air.

As they entered, O-Bengh glanced around, his expression shifting to mild exasperation. "Looks like Sorcerer Armani forgot to tidy up after himself. Could I trouble you to help me organize?"

Kang Woo chuckled, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. "Time Sovereign—Rewind."

A wave of energy rippled outward from him, the floating books glowing faintly before gently returning to their places on the shelves. Even the chains retracted neatly into their mounts.

O-Bengh observed the display, his composed demeanor giving way to genuine surprise. "I'm impressed. And all without a Time Stone."

Makima folded her arms, her golden-ringed eyes glinting with pride. "My husband is capable of many things. Though, I admit, some tasks still require a bit more... effort."

Before O-Bengh could respond, a thunderous explosion echoed through the library, shaking the very walls. The glow of the glyphs dimmed momentarily as a powerful force surged through the space.

Boom.

Kang Woo sighed, rubbing his temples as if dealing with an inconvenience rather than a disaster. "I suppose this is the first time Doctor Strange summoned a being without realizing it's a beast. Figures."

As the group moved toward the summoning room Stephen Strange had prepared, the faint sounds of chaos echoed through the corridor, a mixture of crashing debris and muffled incantations.

Makima glanced at Kang Woo with a faint smirk. "Looks like this is my first eternal adventure."

Kobeni, trailing nervously behind, clutched her hands tightly. "Kang Woo, what kind of being is Armani—uh, Strange—trying to summon?"

Kang Woo's expression remained calm, but there was a flicker of amusement in his eyes. "Knowing Strange? He's probably summoning a tentacle monster. Used to be called the Champion of Hydra back in some circles."

O-Bengh raised an eyebrow, his tone measured but intrigued. "It seems you're well-versed in what the Sorcerer Supreme has been meddling with, Kang Woo."

Kang Woo smirked, brushing off the comment. "I'm not a sorcerer, O-Bengh. Just a local demon making the rounds."

As they stepped into the summoning chamber, a chilling sight greeted them. In the center of the room, arcane sigils glowed faintly, their light dimmed by the oppressive shadow of the being towering above them. Partial manifestations of Cthulhu loomed ominously—tentacles as large as buildings writhed and coiled, dripping with a viscous, otherworldly ichor. Its form defied logic, an amalgamation of impossible angles and dark green, slimy flesh that shimmered faintly in the dim light. Several glowing, unblinking eyes scattered across its form seemed to pierce into their very souls.

In the middle of the chaos, Doctor Strange was flailing like a ragdoll, one of the massive tentacles wrapped tightly around his waist and hoisting him into the air. His attempts to cast counter-spells were met with futility, the creature's overwhelming presence disrupting any semblance of control.

Makima tilted her head slightly, observing the scene with an unreadable expression. "Kang Woo, from what I see, that's definitely not what you'd call the Champion of Hydra."

Kang Woo exhaled sharply, his tone now tinged with irritation. "No. That's not Hydra's Champion. That's a fucking Cthulhu."

Kang Woo's eyes narrowed as he raised his hand, his voice calm but laced with authority. "Authority of Extinction."

The room quaked as the monstrous Cthulhu began to writhe violently, its tentacles shredding into countless pieces before disintegrating into fine dust. The oppressive weight of its presence lifted instantly, leaving an eerie silence in its wake.

O-Bengh stood frozen, his composed demeanor cracking slightly as he processed what had just happened. "That... that was Lucifer's power. Extinction. Are you his champion?" His voice trembled ever so slightly. "If so, I'm sorry for the burden you carry. Lucifer was a horrifying demon."

Kang Woo smirked faintly, cutting off O-Bengh before he could continue. "Lucifer is in no position to be anyone's burden. I killed him and absorbed his being. He's dead—deceased status, as you'd call it."

O-Bengh blinked, his thoughts racing as he stared at Kang Woo. Someone killed the legendary Lucifer? The implications of such a feat were almost incomprehensible to him.

Meanwhile, Kobeni cautiously moved forward, kneeling beside the crumpled form of Doctor Strange. She hesitated briefly before placing her hands on his chest to check his vitals. "He's alive," she said, her voice tinged with relief, "but... it looks like a lot of his ribs are broken. He's unconscious."

Kang Woo approached, glancing down at Strange with a mix of amusement and pity. "I really wanted he's got amnesia after being smacked around like that. Would save us all some trouble."

O-Bengh regained his composure, stepping closer. "We can continue this conversation once we tend to him. His condition might worsen if we delay."

Makima nodded in agreement, her golden-ringed eyes flickering as she turned her attention to the summoning circle Strange had used. She crouched, inspecting the intricate markings and glyphs. Her thoughts churned as she analyzed it. My king, the Demon King himself, is going to need an army soon. There's no denying that.

As if sensing her thoughts, Kang Woo reached out and gently patted her head. "I don't need an army right now," he said casually. "I prefer going solo in combat. Always have."

Makima smirked faintly, tilting her head to meet his gaze. "Shame. We could use manpower, but... it's your call."

Kobeni stood, brushing off her hands, her expression a mix of relief and tension. "What's next, Kang Woo?"

Kang Woo's smirk deepened, but he remained silent.

Makima, observing him closely, thought to herself, That smirk… it either means he's about to do something incredibly stupid or something terrifyingly brilliant.

Meanwhile, in O-Bengh's dimly lit bedroom, Doctor Strange lay on the bed, his body wrapped in cloth to stabilize his injuries. He stirred, his eyes fluttering open, only to find Kang Woo's crimson gaze staring down at him.

"Hey, you. You're finally awake," Kang Woo said, his tone dripping with mock gravity. "Tried to cross the border of life and death, huh? Just like my group over there."

Makima sighed, already familiar with Kang Woo's antics. She stepped forward, placing a firm hand on his shoulder. " Kang Woo, don't embarrass me too."

Strange groaned, his gaze shifting to O-Bengh, confusion clouding his features. "What… what happened?"

O-Bengh, standing at the foot of the bed, spoke calmly. "Mystical beings do not bargain their powers because their powers are not meant for man. And yet you summoned one, knowing the cost."

Strange's expression darkened as he pushed himself up slightly, wincing from the pain. "The library… it's not enough. Those beings… they have what I need."

O-Bengh's calm demeanor wavered ever so slightly, his voice carrying a note of sadness. "Is she worth the pain? From what I've seen, your intention is to bring back someone you love. A man does not suffer like this for his own glory."

Strange's tired eyes burned with determination as he replied, his voice steady despite his condition. "Every moment of it."

The room fell silent, the weight of his words hanging heavily in the air. Makima observed Strange carefully, her expression unreadable, while Kang Woo's smirk faded into something more thoughtful. For a brief moment, even Kobeni seemed to sense the depth of Strange's resolve, her usual nervousness giving way to quiet contemplation.

O-Bengh stood quietly for a moment, observing Strange with a gaze that carried both wisdom and weariness. Finally, he spoke, his tone calm but heavy with meaning. "There is a fine line between devotion and delusion. Love can break your heart, but it can also shatter your mind."

Strange, still defiant despite his weakened state, managed a faint smirk. "Ah huh. And where'd you learn that? Some ancient text buried in this library?"

O-Bengh paused as he turned to leave, glancing back over his shoulder. "No book, Sorcerer Armani. Life taught me that. And don't forget to thank this trio—they're the ones who saved you from your problem."

Strange's gaze shifted to the group, his expression softening slightly. Before he could speak, Makima stepped forward, her golden-ringed eyes gleaming with confidence as she took the lead in introductions.

"This one," Makima began, gesturing toward Kobeni, " is Kobeni. Still shy, but she's on her way to becoming one of my husband co-wives."

Kobeni froze, her face turning a deep shade of red as she stammered incoherently, clearly caught off guard by Makima's words.

Makima ignored her reaction and pinched Kang Woo's cheek lightly. "And this one is my husband, Kang Woo. He sometimes drives me mad, always throwing away things he deems useless."

Kang Woo smirked, his crimson eyes gleaming with mischief but said nothing.

Finally, Makima straightened her posture, placing a hand over her chest. "And I am Makima, the savior of universe."

Kang Woo burst into laughter, a sharp and amused "Puh-hu," escaping him.

Makima's expression shifted slightly, one eyebrow arching as she shot him a questioning look. "What's so funny, Kang Woo?"

"You really like this multiverse travel, huh, Makima?" Kang Woo teased, his tone playful yet knowing.

Makima smirked faintly, leaning closer to him. "And you don't?"

Kang Woo shrugged, his grin widening. "I didn't say that. But the whole 'savior of universes' thing? A bit much, don't you think?"

Makima's eyes narrowed, though her smirk didn't waver. "Just wait until I actually save one. Then we'll talk."

Strange, finally sitting upright despite his lingering injuries, looked toward Kang Woo. "Thanks for your help, Kang Woo," he said earnestly, his voice subdued but sincere.

Makima tilted her head, a teasing glint in her yellow-ringed eyes. "Not me ?"

Strange offered a faint smile, shrugging slightly. "Although I didn't see much due to my... predicament, I'd guess your husband was the one doing the heavy lifting to save me."

Kang Woo grinned mischievously, turning toward Makima and sticking out his tongue. "Blehhhhh."

Makima's expression shifted into an exaggerated pout, and she playfully swatted at Kang Woo's arm. "You're such a child sometimes," she muttered, though her faint smile betrayed her amusement.

After a moment, makima calmed herself, her tone softening as she glanced back at Strange. "I was once like you—willing to do anything for the sake of love. It didn't work out."

Her words hung in the air for a moment, leaving Strange thoughtful as he watched her turn toward the exit.

Kang Woo, now standing at the doorway with Makima and Kobeni, gestured for them to follow. Makima glanced over her shoulder one last time. "Good luck with your quest, doctor Strange," she said, her tone carrying a note of finality.
