Boom!!!

The two Eevees clashed head-on. Quick Attack was a bit faster, but Tackle had more force. With a loud bang, both Pokémon staggered back at the same time.

"Sand Attack!" Gary called to his Eevee as the two Pokémon separated.

Ash's Eevee wasn't prepared for the sand attack, lacking the sharp eyes to see through the dust, and Gary's Eevee leapt backward with agility.

Upon landing, with its back turned to Ash's Eevee, Gary's Eevee quickly scraped the ground with its back paw, stirring up a cloud of dust that blew directly toward Ash's Eevee.

"Eevee, use Dig!" Ash commanded, seeing the dust cloud heading his way.

With a determined cry, Ash's Eevee immediately dove into the ground, quickly burrowing a hole and disappearing beneath the surface just in time, leaving the sand attack to scatter into empty air.

"Both Eevees know Dig, of course," commented Professor Oak, observing the battle closely as Delia took pictures.

Gary smirked, seemingly expecting this move. "Eevee, use Growl into the tunnel!"

"Eevee!" Gary's Eevee rushed to the entrance of the tunnel Ash's Eevee had dug and released a powerful Growl. The sound waves reverberated inside the narrow tunnel, amplifying the effect and causing a strong disturbance underground.

"Ash's Eevee should leave the tunnel!" Professor Oak advised, watching the situation unfold.

As if in response, Ash called, "Eevee, get out of there!"

From the opposite side of the field, Ash's Eevee emerged, clearly shaken. Although Growl didn't cause direct damage, it was unsettling, especially in the confined space underground where the sound was amplified.

"Now, Eevee, Quick Attack!" Gary seized the opportunity, urging his Eevee forward.

Gary's Eevee launched forward in a silvery flash, targeting Ash's Eevee, who was still disoriented by the effects of Growl and couldn't react in time.

Boom!!!

Ash's Eevee took the hit and was knocked back, skidding across the ground. Gary wasn't about to let up.

"Quick Attack!" he commanded as his Eevee charged at Ash's once more.

"Eevee, use Swift!" Ash quickly countered, seeing Gary's Eevee approach.

Hearing the command, Ash's Eevee steadied itself, releasing a swift flurry of star-shaped energy projectiles from its mouth, speeding toward Gary's Eevee, which continued to rush forward.

Gary's Eevee was moving too fast to dodge, and it looked like the two attacks would collide head-on. Gary watched the scene unfold, strategizing his next move.

"Ash's Eevee can't use Growl? Eevee, use Dig!" 

Gary thought Ash's Eevee hadn't used Growl, so he wouldn't risk Mimic. He immediately instructed his Eevee to counter Dig with Dig.

Seeing Swift flying toward him, Gary's Eevee stopped mid-Quick Attack and burrowed into the ground. Swift's attack missed, hitting the ground instead, and small explosions sent up bursts of smoke. Thanks to Dig, Gary's Eevee managed to dodge the Swift attack that couldn't normally be avoided.

Ash's Eevee held its ground, while Gary's Eevee remained hidden.

"Ash, your Eevee can't use Growl, right? So what's your plan now?" Gary smirked, knowing that without Pidgeotto's sharp eyesight or the ability to use Growl, Ash wouldn't have an easy way to counter his Eevee's Dig.

Ash shot back confidently, "We have our own way! Even if my Eevee can't Growl… Eevee, use Iron Tail!"

Ash's Eevee responded instantly, not needing further instruction. It knew exactly what Ash wanted. 

Gary's expression changed slightly as he realized that his Eevee was underground and Iron Tail wouldn't be a direct hit.

*Eevee!* 

With a loud crash, Ash's Eevee jumped into the air, then struck the ground with Iron Tail, causing a powerful tremor. The impact cracked the earth, sending rocks flying and creating a ripple through the ground.

The shock forced Gary's Eevee to emerge from underground, thrown up by the force of the vibration. Though it wasn't a direct hit, Ash's strategy mirrored Gary's earlier Growl tactic, forcing his opponent's Eevee into the open, albeit with a bit more brute force.

"Eevee, Swift!"

Seizing the opportunity as Gary's Eevee was airborne, Ash commanded a Swift attack. His Eevee aimed quickly, releasing a stream of glowing stars.

*Bang! Bang! Bang!*

Golden stars bombarded Gary's Eevee, resulting in rapid explosions. Smoke filled the field, making it difficult to see.

Even in the audience, Gary's friends had stopped cheering, watching the battle unfold with bated breath.

As the smoke gradually cleared, Gary's Eevee was lying on the ground, while Ash's Eevee stood, panting heavily from the effort. It had taken some damage and was visibly worn out.

*Eevee… Buyi…*

Gary's Eevee struggled to open its eyes, attempting to stand, but its strength gave out, and it collapsed, closing its eyes in defeat.

"Gary's Eevee is unable to battle. Ash's Eevee wins!"
