Gary's Eevee fell, and Ash's Eevee emerged victorious. This match had everyone on edge; neither competitor was willing to back down.

With the same Pokémon, both trainers showcased distinct battle styles, making the match thrilling to watch. Gary was a bit surprised by Ash's final move, impressed by his unique counter to Dig. 

"That strategy was just like him!" Gary murmured, glancing at the field in awe.

Even though he commented on it, he knew deep down that only Ash would come up with such an unconventional tactic.

"The result speaks for itself, doesn't it?" Ash said confidently. "As long as it works, it's a good strategy."

"You're right! But the next one won't be as easy," Gary responded, giving Ash a nod. After recalling his Eevee, he offered a few words of encouragement and then grabbed another Poké Ball.

"Go, Elekid!"

As the Poké Ball flew, a new Pokémon appeared on the field. It had yellow skin, slender arms with black ring patterns, and the defining feature—a pair of plug-like antennae on its head with a mischievous expression.

"Elekid?!" Misty exclaimed with concern, recognizing it instantly. Elekid, as its name suggests, is an Electric-type Pokémon.

It's known for its power among Electric-types, and it becomes even stronger after evolving.

"I've never seen this Pokémon before!" Delia commented, holding her camera to capture the moment. She rarely traveled, so she hadn't encountered many Pokémon.

"Elekid is quite rare, a powerful Electric-type with considerable potential," Professor Oak added. "Even though it hasn't evolved yet, it's still a tough opponent."

Ash nodded, fully aware of Elekid's potential. After all, Elekid evolves into Electabuzz, and eventually into Electivire—a Pokémon with impressive stats and remarkable strength.

"Eevee, use Shadow Ball!"

The third round began, and Ash took the initiative, aiming to gauge Elekid's abilities.

Eevee perked up at the command, a dark purple energy orb forming in its mouth. With a sharp cry, it unleashed the attack directly at Elekid.

"A Shadow Ball? Elekid, use Protect!"

Gary, caught off guard, hadn't expected Ash's Eevee to hold back such a powerful move in earlier rounds. Yet he quickly commanded Elekid to respond.

Elekid extended its hands, conjuring a green protective barrier in front of it just as the Shadow Ball struck with an explosive force, sending smoke billowing across the field. As it slowly cleared, Elekid stood, unfazed, still sporting its characteristic smirk.

"Elekid, use Thunder Punch!"

Gary seized the moment to counterattack. Elekid dashed forward, its speed impressive even before evolution. Sparks surged from its raised right arm as it charged toward Eevee, fist crackling with electric energy. Ash responded instantly, ready to counter.

"Avoid it!" Ash commanded, noting Elekid's impressive speed. Realizing this Elekid's strength was exceptional, he quickly signaled Eevee to dodge.

**Boom!**

Eevee obeyed, jumping back just in time to avoid Elekid's Thunder Punch. The electric attack struck the ground, causing it to erupt and filling the area with thick smoke.

"Don't let it get away! Elekid, use Brick Break!" Gary shouted, watching as Eevee leaped out of the smoke. Elekid moved faster than Eevee, bursting from the haze with its left arm glowing white.

**Crash!**

Elekid's Brick Break struck Eevee directly, sending Eevee flying backward and crashing to the ground, clearly impacted by the powerful hit.

Gritting its teeth, Eevee struggled back onto its feet, breathing heavily.

"That Elekid can use both Electric-type moves and Fighting-type moves!" Misty observed worriedly. "Fighting moves are especially strong against Normal-types like Eevee. Gary must've used Thunder Punch as a setup, with Brick Break as the real plan."

"This doesn't look easy for Eevee. How will Ash handle this?" Professor Oak watched the field with concern.

"It's not just the power of Brick Break; Elekid's Protect move is also tough to deal with offensively," Brock noted, frowning. Though acting as the referee, he silently rooted for Ash, worried for Eevee's chances.

"Eevee, use Shadow Ball again!" Ash called.

"Elekid, Thunderbolt!" Gary countered instantly, matching Ash's attack. Sparks flared from Elekid's antennae, and electricity surrounded its body as it unleashed a fierce current. At the same time, Eevee released the dark purple Shadow Ball.

**Bang! Bang! Bang!**

The collision of their attacks erupted in a blinding explosion, filling the arena with smoke and fire. Neither trainer could see their Pokémon through the thick haze.

"Swift, now!" Ash called out.

Eevee responded, releasing a flurry of golden stars that shot forward like darts, aimed directly into the smoke. Since Swift never misses, the stars would find their mark, even with Elekid hidden in the smoke.
