Pokemon: Ace's Adventures!

Chapter 40: Chapter 40:Arceus needs help?!

Ace lay unconscious in the sterile white bed of Celadon City's hospital room. The steady beeping of machines filled the air as Serena, Dawn, and May sat anxiously beside him, their faces marked with worry. Ace's sudden collapse alongside Smeargle after the intense gym battle had left them in a state of panic, and the trio had wasted no time rushing him to the hospital.

Serena clutched Ace's hand tightly. "Why did this happen? He seemed fine right after the battle..." she muttered, her voice trembling.

May bit her lip, her usual confidence shaken. "I've heard of trainers pushing themselves too hard during battles, but I've never seen anything like this."

Dawn, sitting at the edge of her chair, glanced at Piplup, who mirrored her concern. "What if it's something serious? He went all out during that fight. Maybe it was too much..."

Their conversation halted as the door opened, and a doctor entered with Erika following closely behind. The girls immediately stood, their worried expressions demanding an answer.

"Doctor, how is Ace? Will he be okay?" Serena asked, her voice filled with urgency.

The doctor gave a reassuring smile. "It's nothing serious," he said, adjusting his glasses. "Ace appears to have experienced an adrenaline rush during his battle. While cases like this aren't extremely common, they're not unheard of. Trainers sometimes push themselves so hard in intense battles that they pass out from sheer exhaustion."

The trio collectively sighed in relief, their tense shoulders relaxing for the first time since Ace collapsed.

"Thank goodness," Dawn murmured, wiping away a tear.

"Thank you, Doctor," May added, her tone grateful.

As the doctor left the room, Erika stepped forward. The girls turned to her with gratitude in their eyes.

"Thank you, Erika," Serena said. "If it weren't for you flying Ace here so quickly with Tropius, who knows what could've happened."

Erika waved a hand dismissively, her usual calm demeanor intact. "It was the least I could do. Being a Gym Leader isn't just about battling. It's about teaching and guiding trainers, helping them when they need it."

She glanced at Ace's sleeping form. "When Ace wakes up, bring him to the gym. He earned his victory, and I owe him a proper badge ceremony."

The girls nodded as Erika left the room.

Meanwhile, Ace's consciousness stirred. He opened his eyes, expecting to see the a hospital ceiling, but instead, he found himself floating in a pitch-black void.

"What... where am I?" Ace muttered, looking around in confusion.

There was nothing—just endless darkness stretching in every direction. Panic began to creep into his mind, but a familiar sound snapped him out of it.

A soft bark.

Ace turned quickly, relief washing over him as he saw Smeargle floating nearby. "Smeargle!" he called out, swimming through the void toward his Pokémon. He embraced Smeargle tightly. "Thank goodness you're here. I was starting to think I was alone in... wherever this is."

Smeargle barked again, but its ears perked up, and it growled threateningly. Ace followed its gaze and froze.

In the distance, a small purple sphere floated, pulsating ominously. Ace's body tensed as an inexplicable fear gripped him. Sweat beaded on his forehead.

"What is that...?" he whispered, unable to look away.

Before he could react, the void shifted. The blackness turned into a deep blue hue, and the purple sphere began to expand, growing larger and larger in a humongous size like a mountain. Black flames erupted from it, roaring toward Ace and Smeargle.

"Smeargle, get behind me!" Ace shouted, his instincts taking over. He shielded his Pokémon with his body, bracing for the inevitable. Smeargle whimpered, trying to push Ace aside to protect its master.

Suddenly, the flames were intercepted. Beams of pinkish-red light shot through the air, clashing against the black flames and holding them back. Ace looked up, his eyes widening in shock.

"No way... Is that...?"

A majestic figure emerged from the light—a creature of divine radiance, its body glowing with an aura of untouchable power. It was unmistakable.

"Arceus," Ace breathed, his voice trembling.

The Pokémon god, the creator of the Pokémon world, stood before him, its presence both awe-inspiring and overwhelming. Smeargle, sensing the being's immense power, bowed its head in reverence to it's creator.

Arceus's golden eyes locked onto Ace. Its voice echoed in his mind, calm yet commanding. "Come. There is no time left."

Ace was stunned. He didn't know how or why he was here, but he knew one thing—he couldn't ignore a summon from Arceus itself.

"Smeargle, we're going," Ace said, his resolve firm. He climbed onto Arceus's back, holding Smeargle close.

As he settled in, he cast one last glance at the humongous purple sphere, now retreating into the distance. "What the hell is going on...?" he muttered, his heart pounding.

Arceus, without a word, began to move, its powerful strides cutting through the void. For Ace, this was equal parts terrifying and exhilarating. He was riding the literal god of Pokémon.

'Okay,' he thought, gripping Arceus's ring tightly, 'this has to be a dream. There's no way this is actually happening. Right?'

But as Arceus carried him forward, deeper into the unknown, Ace couldn't shake the feeling that this was far more real than he could comprehend.

Arceus followed behind the massive, ominous purple ball, its radiant form glowing softly in the distorted space around them. Its voice resonated like thunder in the void.

"So, Ace, how was your previous world?"

The question jolted Ace out of his panicked thoughts, his eyes widening. He struggled to form words, utterly shocked. "My… my world? You know about my past life?"

Arceus's gaze was unyielding as it spoke, its tone carrying both authority and a strange calmness. "Of course. I am the god of this world. Did you truly believe your existence here would escape my notice?"

Ace's throat went dry, his heart pounding as a thousand thoughts flooded his mind. 'He knew… he knew all along. I thought I was just some anomaly, slipping into this world unnoticed. But Arceus, the literal god of this world, was watching me the entire time.'

Seeing Ace's stunned silence, Arceus continued, its tone neither reproachful nor kind. "In truth, it was a good thing that you were reborn here. Do you not wonder why?"

Ace snapped out of his daze, blinking rapidly as confusion replaced his fear. "Good? Why would it be good that I ended up here?"

Arceus slowed its pace, golden light rippling across its form. "Because you are the second person from another world to enter this one."

The words hit Ace like a thunderbolt. "Second? You mean someone else from my world has already been here? Was it… Sin?"

He held his breath, waiting for confirmation, but Arceus shook its head. "No. Sin is not like you. He is a native of this world, born human, though his actions may suggest otherwise. If anything, Sin is a reckless fool. Had he encountered the Aura Guardian at the beginning of their journey, he would have been either killed or arrested by the same people he worked for."

Ace's mind reeled as he tried to process this. 'So Sin isn't from my world? Then who was the first person to transmigrate here?'

"Who is the aura guardian you are talking about?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Arceus's eyes bore into his. "It was the one you know as Ash Ketchum."

Ace froze, disbelief coursing through him. "A-Ash? Are you saying the Ash Ketchum—the boy from Pallet Town—is an Aura guardian?"

"Indeed," Arceus said. "Ash Ketchum, the Aura Guardian, was born to be the bridge between humans and Pokémon, to bring balance and harmony. That was his destiny."

Ace's mind raced as countless memories of Ash flooded back—images of him saving Pokémon, helping trainers, and stopping the world from plunging into chaos. He remembered every legendary Pokémon Ash encountered, every crisis he resolved. Ash had done more for the Pokémon world than anyone else could have.

'It makes sense now,' Ace thought, his chest tightening. 'Ash wasn't just an unlucky trainer who stumbled into these events. He was meant to be there. He was chosen to save the world. All the legendary Pokémon trusted him, and he brought peace wherever he went. Becoming World Champion wasn't what made him a Pokémon Master. It was his unyielding desire to meet and help every Pokémon in the world that defined him.'

But then Ace frowned. "If Ash is the Aura guardian, why did you need me? Isn't Ash already enough?"

Arceus's expression darkened, and the air around them grew heavier. "Ash's story has long since been decided by fate, but there was another—a far more dangerous individual from your world who came here before you that is breaking the threads of fate. They were unlike any being this world had ever seen."

Ace tensed, a sinking feeling building in his stomach. "Who are you talking about?"

Arceus's voice grew cold. "This individual wielded an unknown Pokémon, something unnatural. They came to me, calling me the 'final chess piece' in their game. I underestimated them. They possessed an ability I have never seen before, one that allowed them to replicate the powers of Pokémon and bestow those powers upon their own creation."

Ace's eyes widened in horror. "Replicate powers? You mean they could copy any Pokémon's abilities and give them to their Pokémon?"

"Precisely," Arceus said grimly. "Even my strength was not immune to their power. As I attempted to counter their attacks by changing my type, they managed to steal something from my plates, granting their Pokémon the ability to stand against me."

Ace's heart raced. 'This is insane. Someone from my world created a Pokémon capable of fighting Arceus? That's impossible! No, that's unnatural! Was it their golden finger!?'

Arceus continued, its tone filled with regret. "I was forced to use Judgment to stop them. I blasted both the trainer and their Pokémon into the space-time distortion, sealing them there. But I fear it is only a matter of time before they break free. Their Pokémon is already sending fragments of its soul into the world, attacking me indirectly."

Ace felt his knees weaken as he stared at the purple orb ahead of them. "You're saying this... is one of those fragments?"

"Correct," Arceus replied. "It is only a piece of what that human created, yet it already poses a grave threat. That man—he calls himself the Death God—and his Pokémon are pure evil. I allowed your soul to enter this world because I believed you would possess a power capable of standing against them."

Ace gulped, his mind racing. 'I was this close to being erased by Arceus… and now I'm supposed to fight something even it fears? This Death God… what kind of golden finger did he have to create a Pokemon like this?!'

Suddenly a memory appeared in his mind of the incident regarding Sin.

His voice shook as he asked, "That Pokémon… did they call it Null?"

Arceus nodded gravely.

Before Ace could process the information, Arceus unleashed a golden Hyper Beam toward the purple ball. But the sphere glowed ominously, sending forth black flames that neutralized the attack.

The sphere cracked, then shattered, revealing the monstrous figure within. Null stepped out of the void, its jagged scales glinting with malice and its crimson eyes burning with hatred.

Ace's breath caught in his throat as he instinctively scooted closer to Arceus ring. "W-What is that thing?!"

Smeargle, however, stood its ground, growling fiercely at Null to defend its trainer.

Ace glanced at his Pokémon, panic rising. "Smeargle, are you insane? Do you even realize how strong that thing is?!"

Smeargle didn't flinch, its resolve unwavering as it bared its teeth at Null to protect its master like a loyal dog.

Arceus stepped forward, its golden light intensifying. "Stay on my back, Ace. You are not ready for this battle."

Ace clutched Smeargle tightly, his mind spiraling into chaos. 'If this is just a fragment of Null… what chance do I have against the real thing?'

The void crackled with energy as Arceus and Null squared off, a clash between gods on the horizon. And Ace, trembling in the shadow of these titanic forces, could only hope he wouldn't be crushed in the aftermath.
