Chapter 350: Chapter 32: Problem Solving

Pikachu, now fully serious, unleashed the full power of its Thunderbolt. The attack was far stronger than the previous ones, striking Snorlax with devastating force.

The immense power overwhelmed Snorlax, draining its energy completely. Without even a cry of resistance, the massive Pokémon collapsed to the ground with a resounding thud, kicking up a cloud of dust.

It's simple and honest demeanour returned as it lay unconscious, no longer the ferocious threat it had been moments ago.

"Go, Poké Ball!" Ash shouted, swiftly hurling an empty Poké Ball. The device struck Snorlax, releasing a beam of red light that enveloped the fallen Pokémon before pulling it inside.

The Poké Ball hit the ground and shook violently, the red light at its centre flashing rapidly. Tension hung in the air as everyone watched.

After a few seconds, the ball let out a soft click and emitted three small stars of light, signifying a successful capture.

"Pika!" Pikachu darted forward, eagerly retrieving the Poké Ball before running back to Ash. It handed the ball to its Trainer, a wide smile on its face.

"Thank you, Pikachu. You were amazing." Ash bent down, gently rubbing Pikachu's head as he took the Poké Ball.

"Pika pika!" Pikachu chirped happily, nuzzling Ash's hand.

Meanwhile, Misty, Tracey, and Casey ran over, their expressions filled with awe.

"That Pikachu of yours is unbelievable!" Tracey exclaimed. He hadn't seen Pikachu battle often, but what he'd just witnessed left him speechless. To defeat such a powerful Snorlax so decisively spoke volumes about Pikachu's strength.

"Thank you so much, Mr. Ash!" Casey bowed deeply, her voice filled with gratitude. She had seen firsthand how strong Snorlax was.

Although she wasn't a Trainer, she understood that none of the island staff could have handled Snorlax, let alone subdued it.

Without Ash's help, she was certain the Snorlax would have devoured every single Sitrus Berry on Grapefruit Island.

"You're welcome," Ash said with a smile. "I'm happy to have gained such a strong partner." However, he paused and scratched his head awkwardly. "But… if you really want to thank me, I could use a bit of help."

"Of course! Anything I can do, just let me know!" Casey replied earnestly.

Misty and Tracey, however, exchanged surprised looks. They both knew Ash wasn't the type to ask for anything in return after helping someone.

Ash sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well, the truth is, Snorlax eats a lot. It's going to be a real challenge to keep up with its appetite. Even if it only eats Oran Berries, the cheapest fruit available, it's going to cost a fortune."

He paused, his tone becoming more exasperated. "Snorlax eats about 400 kilograms of food a day—four full meals. That's not an exaggeration. I'm going to need some serious help to manage this."

Casey's expression shifted to one of guilt. She didn't have much in the way of savings and felt terrible that she couldn't provide any significant assistance.

"I'm so sorry… I wish I could do more," she said, bowing her head.

"It's fine," Ash reassured her. "Snorlax is my Pokémon now. I'll figure it out."

Still feeling bad, Casey insisted on giving Ash and his group a supply of Sitrus Berries before they left.

While it was a kind gesture, Ash knew the fifty berries wouldn't last long—certainly not with Snorlax's enormous appetite.

---

As dusk fell, Ash and his friends left Grapefruit Island on the back of Lapras. The cool evening breeze rippled across the water, but Ash's thoughts were elsewhere.

"What am I going to do about feeding Snorlax?" Ash muttered, running a hand through his hair.

"Why don't we ask Professor Oak?" Tracey suggested. "He might have a solution."

Ash considered this but hesitated. He knew Professor Oak would help if asked, but Ash didn't want to rely on him too much. Favors, after all, were intangible yet invaluable.

"What about Brock?" Misty said suddenly, her eyes lighting up. "He's great with Pokémon care. He might know what to do."

Ash's face brightened. "You're right! I completely forgot about Brock!"

Without wasting time, Ash opened his communicator and dialed the number for Professor Oak's lab, where Brock was currently studying.

While Ash waited for the call to connect, Misty explained Brock's background to Tracey. She told him about Brock's time as the Pewter City Gym Leader, his extensive knowledge of Pokémon care, and how he had joined Professor Oak's lab to further his studies.

"That's amazing," Tracey said, clearly impressed.

After a brief conversation, Ash hung up, looking relieved. "Brock has a solution!"

Brock had shared a recipe for a high-calorie Pokémon food that could satisfy Snorlax's hunger.

While it lacked the nutrients needed for growth, it would be enough to keep Snorlax fed in the short term.

"It's not perfect," Ash explained, "but it'll keep Snorlax full for now. I'll work on getting better food later, especially Pokéblocks. Once I have those, Snorlax will get all the nutrition it needs for training and growth."

"That's a relief," Misty said, smiling.

"At least we won't go bankrupt trying to feed Snorlax," Ash joked, his mood much lighter now.

With their immediate problem solved, the group continued their journey, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
