Hitmonchan was now in a tight spot. He couldn't get close to Bellossom. The moment he approached within 10 meters, he had to divert part of his focus to keep an eye on the ground, avoiding another close encounter with the terrain. 

However, splitting his attention made closing the distance even harder.

Meanwhile, Bellossom continued her elegant dance, steadily controlling a flurry of Magical Leaf to harass Hitmonchan. For every step Hitmonchan advanced, Bellossom took one back, maintaining a safe distance. 

This left Hitmonchan increasingly frustrated, his strength unable to find an outlet.

"If you can't land a hit, no matter how strong or fast your attacks are, it's useless. Hitmonchan lacks ranged attacks. If we exploit this weakness, Bellossom can win this match with ease," Sato thought, arms crossed, watching the battle unfold. 

He nodded slightly in satisfaction, seeing Bellossom flawlessly execute the strategy he had outlined before the match.

Eventually, under Heiya Heiji's gritted teeth and despite his strong will, Hitmonchan's body gave out. His determination was still intact, but his exhausted form betrayed him, causing him to collapse.

"Hitmonchan is unable to battle. The winner is Bellossom!"

After silently counting to ten and seeing that Hitmonchan couldn't respond to his trainer's calls, the referee raised his flag to declare the match's outcome.

As the referee's announcement echoed, the spectators around the battlefield burst into applause, cheering for the victor while also offering consolation and respect to the defeated.

This was the fourth round of the tournament—a three-on-three battle. While Bellossom had secured an almost flawless first victory for Sato, the match was far from over.

Sato still had to face Heiji's two remaining Pokémon, whose identities and strategies were unknown.

"Come back, Hitmonchan. You've done great. Leave the rest to your teammates," Heiji said solemnly as he recalled Hitmonchan into his PokéBall. Speaking softly to the ball, he clipped it back onto his belt and retrieved another one—a Great Ball.

"Mr. Sato, it seems you've studied my Hitmonchan thoroughly. Bellossom, with her control and ranged combat capabilities, is indeed a nemesis for a strong offensive Pokémon like Hitmonchan, but the Pokémon I'm sending out next isn't of the same type. Be careful."

Taking a deep breath, Heiji calmed himself and addressed Sato. Then, with a firm press of the button on the Great Ball, he released his second Pokémon.

In a flash of white light, a robust Combusken appeared on the battlefield.

Sato's system immediately analyzed the Pokémon. The details that surfaced on the screen shocked him, causing his pupils to contract slightly.

"Impressive! He actually has a Combusken with the Speed Boost ability. That's extraordinary. Judging by its appearance, its potential is excellent. I didn't expect this guy to be a second-generation trainer," Sato thought, his initial shock turning into a twinge of envy. 

His estimation of Heiya Heiji rose further; there was no doubt this opponent would be a formidable rival in the future.

Among all Pokémon abilities, Speed Boost is undoubtedly one of the most exceptional. Imagine facing an opponent that continuously accelerates in battle—catching up with their movements becomes nearly impossible. 

Once you can't keep up, you're inevitably dragged along at their pace.

Of course, the faster a Pokémon moves, the greater the energy consumption. Often, a Pokémon may tire out before managing to defeat its opponent. 

However, when paired with Fighting-type Pokémon like Combusken, this ability's effectiveness becomes almost boundless.

Fighting-type Pokémon are renowned for their robust physiques and superior stamina. Their athletic muscle fibers adapt well to the speed increases provided by Speed Boost, and they have the endurance to maintain it. 

Combining unparalleled speed with the powerful moves typical of Fighting-types creates a devastating synergy.

Combusken fits these criteria perfectly. Since Speed Boost is its hidden ability, Heiji's Combusken doesn't even need to wait for its evolution to fully utilize this buffed ability.

Understanding its value, Heiji clearly invested heavily in Combusken's training. Its physique exceeded average standards, with its muscles carefully developed and no unnecessary bulk.

Additionally, this Combusken demonstrated a remarkable mastery over fire. Like a Growlithe, it kept its body cloaked in sustained flames without showing any signs of strain. 

While Growlithe relies on its Flash Fire ability for such control, Combusken managed this feat unaided, showcasing exceptional fire-handling skills.

At this moment, Combusken's three fiery red head feathers burned with orange flames, while its legs and claws were similarly wrapped in flickering fire. Its sharp light-red eyes gleamed with intense fighting spirit.

"Bellossom, you did wonderfully. Take a well-deserved rest. The next battle will be entrusted to another partner," Sato said, recalling Bellossom into its PokéBall.

Having a Grass-type Bellossom face a Fire-type Combusken was clearly unwise. After a moment's thought, Sato retrieved another PokéBall containing Golbat.

While Combusken's Speed Boost gave it an edge, its inability to fly was a clear weakness. Against a flying Pokémon like Golbat, its advantage was significantly diminished. Furthermore, Golbat's type advantage over Combusken made it the ideal counter.

"Let's go, Golbat. It's your time to shine," Sato declared, pressing the button on the PokéBall to release the bat-like Pokémon onto the battlefield.
