Pokemon: The Master Of Monsters

Chapter 58: Chapter 58: Prize Redemption In The Game Hall

"Let's play with 200 game coins first," Gary said, pulling out his black card.

When aria saw the black card, her eyes widened in surprise. She instantly recognized the significance of the card. The owner of such a card held a high status, which immediately changed the way she looked at Gary. Her gaze flickered between Gary and Sabrina, and she began to wonder if Gary had a preference for mature, older women. Perhaps she had a chance after all.

However, before aria could think too much, Sabrina stepped in front of Gary, subtly blocking aria's view of him.

"Guest, your game coins have been exchanged," the beautiful attendant at the counter said as she placed a small, elegant container on the counter. Inside were 200 game coins, neatly stacked.

"How do you exchange Pokémon?" Gary asked, curious.

The attendant smiled and explained, "These are the Pokémon available for exchange this quarter. All of them have potential that meets or exceeds the gym level." She gestured to a screen above her head displaying the available Pokémon:

Horsea – 20,000 coins

Nidorino – 30,000 coins

Vulpix – 60,000 coins

Porygon – 50,000 coins

Eevee – 50,000 coins

Pinsir – 55,000 coins

Scyther – 55,000 coins

Gary's eyes immediately landed on Eevee. It was one of the rarest and most versatile Pokémon, capable of evolving into eight different forms. He remembered how his Eevee had once evolved into Umbreon, one of the strongest defensive Pokémon. Umbreon's defenses were legendary, making it a formidable shield in battle.

"Guest, our Eevee this quarter is of exceptional quality, all with gym-level potential," the attendant added.

"Sabrina, do you like Eevee?" Gary asked with a grin.

Sabrina, caught off guard, responded, "Gary, are you planning to buy an Eevee?"

Sabrina could accept a simple gift from Gary, but an Eevee was too expensive—50,000 game coins, equivalent to five million in cash. It would be impossible to buy something like that even at an auction.

"Of course not. With your lucky touch, you'll win us two Eevees," Gary replied confidently.

Sabrina was puzzled. "Win? How?"

This was her first time in an arcade, and she didn't know how to win game coins or Pokémon.

"Follow me," Gary said, taking Sabrina's hand and leading her toward the arcade area.

Aria, who had been watching them closely, followed, subtly adjusting her attire to attract attention. But Gary noticed and quickly turned to her.

"You don't need to follow me. I can play by myself," Gary said, dismissing her with a wave.

"Ah... okay, Mr. Gary. If you need anything, just let me know." Aria voice was filled with regret, but she obeyed and walked away.

Sabrina smiled, feeling much better now that aria was gone.

"Let's play, Sabrina," Gary said as they approached a pinball machine.

Sabrina raised an eyebrow. "What's this?" she asked, clearly unfamiliar with the game. People were crowded around the machine, but she couldn't figure out what made it so interesting.

"This is simple," Gary explained. "You put in game coins here, and the machine spits out small steel balls. Look at the numbers on the screen, and you'll see the different channels the balls can go into."

He pointed to the lever on the right side of the machine. "When you pull the lever, it sends the ball into the channel. If the ball lands in the channel with a red light, you win a multiple of game coins, which you can use to exchange for more prizes."

Gary tried the machine a few times before handing it over to Sabrina. She quickly caught on, learning how to use the pinball machine.

"Gary, do you want me to use Psychic to speed up the ball's path?" Sabrina asked, using her telepathy to communicate.

Gary chuckled and replied, "Well, if you're my lucky Stephanie, of course you can."

Sabrina looked at him, a little amused but also helpless. She hadn't expected Gary to ask her to cheat. Usually, Gary was very straightforward, but now he was asking her to bend the rules.

"Are you sure it's safe?" Sabrina asked, concerned.

She knew that there were psychics in the world, but this was an arcade. People in charge would likely have thought of such cheating methods, and it could end badly if they were caught.

"Don't worry. This arcade isn't exactly a formal business. If we win, the owners won't have a leg to stand on," Gary explained, a hint of mischief in his voice.

He knew that this arcade was part of a secret base set up by Team Rocket in the Kanto Region. They were involved in shady dealings, including transporting rare Pokémon. If they made a fuss about cheating, it would only draw attention to their own illegal activities.

While Gary wasn't actively seeking to provoke Team Rocket, he wasn't afraid to take advantage of their schemes. Sabrina's psychic abilities were more than enough to handle any threats from the lower ranks of Team Rocket.

"Okay, I trust you this time," Sabrina said, finally agreeing.

Sabrina was still a little wary but trusted Gary's judgment. With her enhanced Psychic powers after her personality merge, she was confident she could do this without being detected.

Sabrina focused her mind, manipulating the steel ball's trajectory as it launched from the machine. The ball sped through the channels, landing in the one with the red light.

Gary grinned as the game counted up their winnings. Sabrina's Psychic abilities had given them a huge advantage, and the machine rewarded them with a large number of game coins.

"See? You're my lucky Stephanie," Gary said, beaming with satisfaction.

Sabrina couldn't help but laugh. Despite her initial hesitation, she was starting to enjoy the game. With Gary's guidance, she quickly became adept at using her Psychic powers to help them win game coins, and they soon had enough to exchange for multiple prizes, including Eevees.

This secret arcade, operated by Team Rocket, was proving to be a goldmine for Gary and Sabrina, who now had a chance to acquire powerful Pokémon with the game coins they had won. Gary knew that, as long as they kept playing, they could build a formidable team and potentially even use the arcade to further their goals.
