"Hahaha! The top nine spots on the level list are all me! I can't stop laughing," Satoshi chuckled as he read the rankings. He knew his Pokémon were strong, but this was more than he expected.
This situation was hilarious to him because, aside from Charmeleon and Frogadier taking the top two spots, the other hidden names in the rankings were also his Pokémon caught from the Evergreen Forest. While capturing them, he hadn't paid much attention to their levels but had instinctively hidden their names.
Apparently, other players leveled up far more slowly, and the Pokémon he had captured were already ahead.
Satoshi laughed for several minutes before opening another leaderboard.
Pokémon Potential Rankings:
1. Charmeleon - Champion Potential - Owner: Satoshi
2. Frogadier - Champion Potential - Owner: Satoshi
3. Plusle - Gym Leader Potential - Owner: Name Hidden
4. Pidgey - Gym Leader Potential - Owner: Name Hidden
5. Staryu - Elite Potential - Owner: Cute Girl
"Well, other than the Pidgey I caught, there's not much change here. My other Pokémon are ranked a little further down, with most of their names hidden too."
Satoshi figured the Potential Rankings wouldn't change drastically anytime soon. With hundreds of millions of players in the game, many starter Pokémon had elite potential, which, while rare, wasn't uncommon due to the sheer player base.
Finally, he opened the Trainer Rankings.
[Trainer Rankings:
1. Satoshi - Intermediate Trainer
2. None]
"Yep, just as I thought. I'm the only one here. Who knows how long it will take for someone else to reach Intermediate Trainer rank," Satoshi mused. He had expected this since the Trainer Rankings required a player to reach Intermediate rank, a feat only he had achieved so far.
"Alright, now that I've checked the rankings, let's move on to the big one—Exp. Share. This thing is a leveling artifact! Back in my previous life, I heard there were only 10 in the entire game world!"
Satoshi hadn't managed to obtain one in his past life but knew of its incredible value. Players who acquired one back then showed off constantly, though only three were ever found by players. The other seven remained with NPCs.
Exp. Share
Effect (Previous Version):
Pokémon that battle gain 50% experience.
Pokémon in your party share the remaining 50%.
"I remember reading about this on the forums in my last life. The effect of Exp. Share was always considered overpowered," Satoshi thought. However, since the version of the game had changed, he knew better than to blindly trust old information.
"The conditions for triggering hidden quests are the same, but items and difficulty levels seem different in this version—like the infinite use of TMs, which didn't exist before."
He decided to confirm the Exp. Share's effect directly.
[Exp. Share]:
"A device that allows all Pokémon in the group to gain experience points when switched on."
Detailed Description:
Battle Pokémon gain 100% experience.
All other Pokémon in the party gain 80% experience.
"WHAT?! This isn't just a leveling artifact—it's a military training artifact!"
Satoshi stared at the description in disbelief, wiping his eyes to ensure he wasn't hallucinating. After confirming it multiple times, he burst into laughter.
"Hahaha! My team's leveling speed is going to skyrocket! Soon, the Pokémon level rankings will belong to me entirely!"
Satoshi now had two main Pokémon but knew he'd capture more in the future. Training them all individually would have been time-consuming, but with this Exp. Share, the problem was solved entirely.
"Not only can I handle this, I might even need to consider forming a second team! With this, I won't need to worry about not training enough Pokémon."
In the Pokémon World, there was no hard limit on the number of Pokémon a Trainer could carry. While most Trainers stuck to six due to practical limitations, Satoshi knew that carrying more was now viable with the Exp. Share.
"The original NPC Trainers and players could never train enough Pokémon. Even with six main Pokémon, there's always a significant power gap between the strongest and weakest members. But now…"
Satoshi contemplated capturing a few more Pokémon with good potential to form a secondary team.
"Before, I was just capturing Pokémon to complete the Pokédex for rewards. Now, I can carry strong ones to train without worrying about time."
"I'll only catch Pokémon with quasi-elite potential or higher to make training worthwhile. After all, Silver Crowns aren't exactly common, and I don't have that many to spare."
Satoshi decided to focus on high-potential Pokémon that could be trained effectively with the resources he had.
"In this version, with the extra experience from the Exp. Share, I can easily form a second team. The leveling artifact just became the ultimate game-changer."
Satoshi grinned, already envisioning his dominance over the leaderboards.
