Chapter 84
When Chu Muxi returned to Shen Garden, he heard the housekeeper, Grandpa Xu, say that his grandfather, Shen Wu, might not be back tonight.
“Where did Grandpa go?” Chu Muxi asked curiously.
“Mr. Yue invited him to a newly opened hot spring villa of the Yue family, and he was accompanied by several elders from aristocratic families.”
Chu Muxi nodded with relief. “Okay, by the way, Grandpa Xu, don’t prepare dinner for us. I want to cook myself.”
Butler Xu was stunned for a moment, then hurriedly asked, “Young master, are you entertaining guests? Should we prepare in advance—”
“No, no need,” Chu Muxi waved his hands. He explained politely, “It’s just Lu Junzhi. I invited him for dinner. I thought Grandpa would be home too, so we could all dine together.”
Butler Xu smiled understandingly. “That’s fine, young master. If you need anything, just let us know. We can’t neglect Marshal Lu. Perhaps he’ll have another title soon.” Butler Xu glanced at his young master’s energetic face, feeling both happy and reluctant to see him grow up.
.
When Lu Junzhi’s aircraft landed in Shen Garden, Butler Xu was already waiting. “Marshal Lu, good evening.”
“Hello,” Lu Junzhi nodded slightly with a calm expression.
Butler Xu saw nothing amiss. Marshal Lu was known throughout the empire for his stoic demeanor.
Glancing at Lu Junzhi, he noted his striking handsomeness. As the empire’s marshal and future head of the Lu family, he was undoubtedly someone special, just as his young master liked.
“The young master said he’d personally prepare dinner for you, and he’s busy in the kitchen right now,” Butler Xu explained.
A smile flickered in Lu Junzhi’s eyes, too swift for Butler Xu to miss. He was secretly surprised: It seems that Marshal Lu wasn’t indifferent to everything after all.
Yes, he had worried his young master might face a cold demeanor every day, eventually becoming unhappy.
Lu Junzhi walked to the living room, connected to the kitchen, where he could see Chu Muxi busy cooking.
Butler Xu only escorted Lu Junzhi there before quietly leaving.
Chu Muxi was preparing dinner for himself and Lu Junzhi, so he didn’t prepare too many dishes. Using some interstellar beast meat brought back by Zhou Xu and the others, he made barbecue, fried some, and preserved the rest for friends.
Suddenly, someone spoke from behind. “Can I help?”
Chu Muxi turned around, surprised. “Why did you come into the kitchen? Hey, I didn’t even notice you arrived.” He placed the barbecue on a plate. “Where’s Butler Xu?”
“Outside.” Lu Junzhi approached. “It smells amazing.”
“Of course! How could the meat I grilled not be delicious?” Chu Muxi said proudly.
Lu Junzhi leaned in and whispered, “I meant, you smell amazing.”
Chu Muxi blushed and pushed him away. “Hey! Stop teasing! Bring the plate out.”
No one had ever ordered Marshal Lu to do chores, but Lu Junzhi was about to take action.
“Wait,” Chu Muxi stopped him suddenly and pointed at his clothes. “Take off your coat.”
Raising his eyebrows, Lu Junzhi complied, raising his arms but not moving to take it off.
Chu Muxi blinked. “What? Are you waiting for me to help you? Humph.” Saying that, he stood on tiptoe to help Lu Junzhi remove his uniform jacket and hung it up outside.
Returning, he rolled up Lu Junzhi’s shirt sleeves.
“Alright, Great Marshal, bring the plate out. It’s time to eat.”
Lu Junzhi nodded and carried the plate out.
.
Once the food was on the table, they sat down.
“Let’s dig in!” Chu Muxi smiled. “Try it; it’s made from the interstellar beast meat Adjutant Zhou sent.”
“Okay.” Lu Junzhi took a bite. “It’s delicious.”
“Really?”
“Absolutely.”
The meal was delightful, with Lu Junzhi being considerate and enjoying every dish Chu Muxi had prepared.
“Don’t overeat,” Chu Muxi said, watching him worriedly.
Lu Junzhi glanced at him and suddenly remarked, “I have excellent stamina.”
Chu Muxi hummed absentmindedly, then realized what Lu Junzhi had said and flushed red.
“Lu Junzhi! You!”
Damn, this guy never learnt!
