Reincarnated: The Immortal Scholar

Chapter 7: Family Secrets

The entire Royal family and some of the guards were at the Guard's training ground. Prince Arin's face was still cool, calm and collected.

"Before the both of you go at it, here's this." King Aaron said as he gathered mana in his palm which covered both Asher and Prince Arin.

"Father are you sure about this?" Princess Aethera asked.

"Yes I'm sure. The both of them can go all out within this dimension, I don't want to see my Palace destroyed by either of their attacks." The King replied.

Asher stared around the entire dimension which was pitch black, the only things he could see were the Prince and himself.

"Can you both hear me?!" The King shouted from outside the dimension, his voice echoing within it.

"Yes we can father." Prince Arin replied.

"Good, I assume you both can see each other but that won't be nice now would it, I'll set it so there's light and other things within it." The King explained.

As soon as he finished speaking, the entire dimension began to light up and mountains, streams and trees were seen all around.

"Your father's skills are good." Asher said, complimenting the king's work.

"The dimension has everything our world has, space, time, life, gravity and all that but I changed the rules a little." The king explained. "Time in there doesn't flow as much as it does here so it'll be slow."

"Understood father. Now that the rules have been explained, shall we begin?"

"I really think that there has to be another way to do this right?" Asher asked feigning fear.

"No, it has to be this way or none at all."

This guy is insufferable. Asher thought as he entered a battle stance. He looked forward and saw the Prince breathe out, he blinked and when he opened his eyes, the Prince was nowhere to be seen.

Behind you! All Asher's cells screamed the same thing as he turned around almost instantaneously and was able to block Prince Arin's attack.

The collision created a giant crater on the ground, Asher pushed Prince Arin back and then almost as if it was an illusion, he saw the Prince smile.

"You're fast, no one except my Father has been able to dodge or block my Light Blitz."

"I shall take that as a good thing, seeing as you're this strong." Asher said to the Prince.

"You seem to be taking this the wrong way. I acknowledge that you're strong and it seems like you're still holding back which I won't condone."

"Do I really have to go all out. It all seems fine like this doesn't it?"

"As I said before, it's all or nothing." The Prince emphasized with an eerie calm on his face.

Asher sighed and then let out his mana. It was so intense that the dimension cracked and got destroyed.

"Im-impossible! No one has ever been able to destroy my dimension." The King exclaimed.

Asher's mana continued to grow, shaking the entire planet through and through, even reaching the heavens.

"Enough!" King Aaron ordered.

"Oh!" Asher reduced his mana aura output. "I seemed to have gotten carried away." He laughed sheepishly.

Well, that much should suffice. I'm sure they've never met anyone who's mana could shake the entire planet so I'm sure they'll think that's my full potential. Asher smirked as his thoughts rolled on and on.

"What are you thinking about?" Princess Aethera asked.

"Well, just that I've proven myself to your brother and your parents as well. And I believe I heard your father say no one has ever broken his dimension."

"Yes, it's as he said. It's usually a dimension which he can manipulate it's size and structure as he pleases as well as the laws and concepts within it." Aethera explained.

"So the ability is that strong huh?"

"Yes, which is why he was shocked. But I believe he just made it a simple structure." The Princess continued. "If he had increased the complexity of the structure then maybe you wouldn't have been able to destroy it with just mana."

"Maybe. One can never know." Asher shrugged. "Well, I presume the dinner's over. So I shall be on my way."

"No, my mother and father have agreed to let you spend the weekend here so you have to stay, the maids shall provide clothes for you when you go to bed." Aethera explained and led him to his room.

"This seems a bit excessive doesn't it?" Asher said as he saw the room which they had prepared for him.

This room is the size of our entire house back home. Asher thought.

"No it's not. You're a guest of the Royal family and you deserve such exquisite treatment." Princess Aethera said with confidence.

"Fine, fine. It's alright." Asher agreed, thinking that she'll go away now that he's comfortable.

"Um, Asher. I have something I want to tell you."

"What is it?"

"Do you know why my family rules over the Kingdom?"

"Well, maybe it's because your forefathers were the ones who founded the Kingdom and rulership has been passed down to the first child overtime." Asher guessed.

"Well, you guessed correctly for the most part." Aethera began. " But there is another reason."

"And what might that be?"

"Our family has a kind of magic passed down through generations called 'World Creation Magic'." The Princess's explanation began.

"What does it do?"

"Like you witnessed with my father's dimension, it is the ability to create entire worlds. This was passed down from the first Jardel whom legends say was blessed by the gods and was given such a godly power in return."

"Is that so?"

"Yes."

"And you tell me this why?"

"I told you this because I trust you and I know you won't betray me in any way shape or form." Aethera smiled and touched Asher's cheek and then walked away.

World Creation Magic huh? Seems I've heard about something similar in my past life. Who would have thought my one millionth life would yield such good fortunes. Asher thought. He looked around and then sat on the bed.

So there

are people in this world who can utilize such magic like me? This is getting more interesting by the day.
