Chapter 8: Echoes Of The Demon World

Around the time Asher's aura spread around the world, it reached the ends of heaven and echoed throughout the demon world. The Demons had never sensed such an intense aura outside of their king's own.

"King Xoraxys." A demon adviser bowed before the king in respect.

"What is it Xanereth?" Xoraxys asked, his tone similar to that of one who wasn't interested in anything for the day.

"We have pinpointed the exact location of that aura." Xanereth reported.

Xoraxys' eyes brightened at the message. "Is that so? Is it the aura of a god or that of a devil?" He asked, his demeanor now similar to that of an inquisitive child.

"No, none of that. The devils say they were also curious as to whom that aura belonged to."

"Interesting, so that rules them out then. What about the gods?"

"Well as you know we always have a hard time contacting the gods and when I was finally able to visit their realm, they said it wasn't them as well but a human."

"A human!" Xoraxys' voice echoed throughout the demon world his aura erupting.

"My king calm down, if you let out your aura that much, you'll destroy the entire demon world." Xanereth begged.

"It would seem you gave our King troubling news." A voice said from behind, Xanereth turned around and saw one of his fellow advisers coming towards them.

"Lady Lyriath. I didn't expect you to come." Xanereth said.

"Well, if it concerns the demon world then it concerns all of us advisers don't you think?" She replied.

"True."

"Xanereth, are you sure the gods are not mistaken?" Xoraxys asked, his voice still booming. "They're telling us that a human's aura is able to reach our realms."

"They seemed very sure about it my king. And as you know, the gods have never lied to us not once and I'm sure they would not want to begin a habit of lying now." Xanereth replied.

"You're right. There is no reason for the gods to lie to us in a matter like this. My king please calm down, Lord Xanereth is right." Lady Lyriath beseeched.

"Fine, you are both correct. They haven't lied to us once even though they are condescending bastards who look down upon us like insects from their realm." Xoraxys said, his voice showing his immense anger.

"That does not matter at this point now my king." Xanereth said trying to soothe the king's nerves. "What matters is that there is a human who has such power."

"Lord Xanereth is right my king. We should make preparations to scout out the human in question." Lady Lyriath added.

"The gods did give us his name and location. His name is Asher Blackwood." Xanereth started. "And…"

"And what Xanereth?! Spit it out!" King Xoraxys' voice shook the demon world to it's core.

"H-He lives in the Jardel continent of Tenria." Xanereth revealed.

The Demon King's aura shot up, the entire demon realm shook.

"My King calm down, the demon realm's existence is at stake please be calm!" Lady Lyriath begged with her head on the ground.

"The Jardel Continent. That's where that man lived, the man who gave me this scar." Xoraxys said as he caressed the scar on his chest his aura's power reducing and the demon world stopped shaking.

"We know that place holds a lot of bad memories for you my king but that is currently where the human resides." Xanereth said.

"Then one of you can go. Bring him to me whatever the cost. As the gods have decreed, there should be no human on our level." King Xoraxys ordered and sent them away.

"The human world won't know what hit them." Xoraxys said to himself.

At that time, Asher lay on the bed in the room prepared for him by the Royal family. The maids had brought a change of clothes to him and he had put them on and was prepared to sleep when he sensed something out of order.

This mana seems foreign, I've never sensed anything like it before. Asher's thoughts flew about as he tried to pinpoint the location of the mana he had sensed.

Above me! The strange mana is hovering above the palace. Asher got out of bed and opened his window he jumped out and landed outside the building. He looked up and saw something strange.

A rip through space-time. He thought as there was what seemed to be a giant hole in the sky above the palace and strange mana he had sensed was seeping through.

A hoard of demons came through the hole, Asher's face showed how shocked he was. The door burst open, King Aaron and Prince Arin stormed out of the palace.

"What's going on?" King Aaron asked Asher, the boy pointed up and the King saw the immense amount of demons coming through.

"Tell the guards to protect the castle as well as my wife and daughter!" King Aaron ordered. "Arin, Asher. The both of you should go back into the palace."

"No father! We shall fight with you. We have proven ourselves to you multiple times. Now we want to fight alongside you." Arin replied.

The Demons jumped from the void in the sky and dropped in front of the three of them. King Aaron gathered mana in his palm and attacked the demons, their body dissipating from the immense strength in his punches.

This is becoming hectic. The King and the prince should be able to take care of the small fry but that one. Asher looked up and saw another demon staring at the three of them with a calm look on it's face.

"Asher! Look out!" Arin shouted but Asher was quick enough to react as he sent his attacker to the sky.

This is going to be a hassle. He thought as he kept on staring at the demon in the sky.

Asher gathered the mana on his feet and used it to propell himself upwards, he flew towards the hole and steadied himself in front of the demon.

"What do you want?" Asher asked, his voice showing his anger.

"The Demon King requests your presence. I am Lord Voriath, Grand Marshall of the Demon Army." The demon replied.

"And if I don't come?"

"Then the Demons shall destroy the entire human world as we see fit."

"The Demon world likewise. I shall destroy it as I see fit as well." Asher replied.

"You dare speak like that human?!"

"This world is not something a lowly demon like you can destroy, the Demon King maybe but judging from your aura, you might be able to destroy this universe alone and nothing more."

"What do you mean by that?"

"This world has many paralles to it as I have lived in Nine hundred and ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine of those worlds previously as my past lives."

"That fact has been known by demons since before the human world even existed." Voriath declared.

"Tell your Demon King that I shall not honour his invitation." Asher said before he moved instantly.

What?! I couldn't see him move! Voriath exclaimed within himself as Asher punched him through the crack.

"That takes care of that." Asher said as he closed the crack and looked down as a Demon was sneaking up behind the king.

"Father look out!" Arin exclaimed only for the King to turn behind and see Asher taking care of the problem.

"Thank you child." King Aaron said to Asher.

"It's an honor my king. What are these things?" Asher asked f

eigning ignorance.

"It seems it can't be hidden any longer. Come with me and I shall explain everything to you."
